idea i just had bc i think the goslings having grown up as family together actively fucks with the themes and premises of multiple movies in the goose verse tm. (i have not been able to see all of them yet bc streaming services, but i do know what happens in most of them at the very least).
instead: clones. like in orphan black (which i haven't seen, yet) or the deh au based on that premise, which i did read in its entirety (one of a kind). because this works a lot better imo. they all grew up with different families, and many lose them, but they find each other later in life, and have this indelible connection of looking the same.
i think if we're mostly preserving timelines, the og guy would have to be holland march. if we're going by most likely character-wise, i think six would make a deal with the government (or they'd do it without asking), though him also being the sixth clone would be funny i think. maybe ryan gosling in this verse is the og, though i hesitate to write rpf.
their ages would vary more widely than the show or fic if we're going with og timelines. both based on them being different ages in their movies and them taking place in different time periods. if not, i wanna maybe have some time travel bullshit to keep as much of their original vibes as possible. that or they just wear different clothing styles i guess.
ships, if i were to write this are: queerplatonic grockdrian, marchly, six/carl (bc i love carl), canon typical (broken up) sebastian/mia, not sure who with k bc i still need to watch that one ngl (maybe not shipped at all, we'll see), and if i add the something pines guy everyone is shipping with another gosling idk. and i think that's all of them? if there's any i missed pls lmk!
if respective timelines are ignored, i think it could start with claire and holly accidentally getting swapped by following the wrong dad home at the mall, and hijinks ensue to find what the other both assume are kidnappings. bc i want the girls to bond over their silly dads, and also it's just funny.
i think stratt would help them cover up their existence to the public in this au purely because it would fuck with her trying to save the world. maybe they all have to go into protection bc grace is going to space tm. i think the main antagonist will either be from the gray man or bladerunner bc those seem the most evil govt overreach-wise to me.
