Malia Tate, headcanons for a wasted potential
When Malia was first introduced, I remember being very curious and excited for her character.
I mean, the girl is a werecoyote, killed her whole family except her dad by accidently shifting and then spent over 8 years living as a coyote.
So here are my headcanons, ignoring the mess that TPTB made when they “developped” her character.
Malia having a therapist, because come on
Malia having anxiety and being unconfortable in public & crowded places
Malia learning how to deal with guilt and adjusting to her new relationship with her dad
Stiles bonding with Malia bc he identifies with her strugles to fit in
Malia having panic attacks and Stiles helping her
Lydia tutoring Malia but Malia only wanting to go outside to run
The girls taking Malia in and helping her being confortable with her *new* body (▰˘◡˘▰)
Kira & Malia bonding bc they are both newbies to the gang
Scott using his alpha-powers to try to understand Malia better and making her feel like she belongs
Malia not understanding social norms and thus being open-minded as fuck about everything
Malia being gender-fluid & not giving a crap about gender roles
Therefore I’m wild enough to say: pansexual!Malia (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Malia not understanding personal space and being touch starved but in a non-sexual way
Malia wearing fake-fur clothes/coats all the time because she is cold and misses her fur
Malia spending hours by her mom and sister’s grave
Malia still having PTSD about the car crash and therefore not wanting to get in a car
The gang being overly protective of this small cutie pie that can bite their face off but doesn’t actually scare anyone (◡‿◡✿)
Malia dragging them all to see the new Disney movie -and they all pretend they’re only going to please her but secretly all wanted to see it
Malia re-discovering ice-cream and convincing her dad to buy all the diferent flavors at the store
Malia learning how to control her inner-werecoyote and shifting again, only this time she can shift back, and knows she has somewhere to go back to
So, if like me you have troubles with Malia Tate’s character development, just ignore TPTB (I feel like the majority of the Teen Wolf fandom is pretending that the show is a fanfic anyway) and just take a look at this or make up your own headcanons, everything will be fine. Amen.
