It all started when I was 13. I remember sneaking into my mom’s closet, trying on her clothes, and just feeling... something. I couldn’t put a name to it back then, but I knew it felt right. For years, I pushed that feeling down. I was terrified of change, so I rejected the thought over and over. But the thing about running from yourself is that you eventually get tired. The longer I waited, the more it hurt.
Then, something unexpected happened. It’s almost embarrassing to admit, but I was scrolling through YouTube and a remix of "Day 'n' Nite" popped up. I saw the women in the video and it just hit me like a lightning bolt: I want to be like them. I don’t want to be him anymore. That was my catalyst.
From there, things finally started moving. I stopped running and booked an appointment with a specialist. Six months later, exactly three days after my 25th birthday, I took my first HRT pills. It was the best birthday present I could have ever given myself.
Fast forward to today: I’m 29, turning 30 soon, and I am absolutely in love with my life as a woman. For the first time, I feel like I’m actually living, not just surviving or getting through the day.
If you’re sitting there wondering if it’s worth it... it is. Even if your family doesn't understand at first, and even if you’re left with only one true friend out of your entire old circle. IT IS WORTH IT. You find out who really loves you, and more importantly, you finally get to love yourself.

There will come a day when even your doubts stop being an obstacle and instead become the fuel for change. If you think you’d be better off as a woman, trust your gut - it knows. And if you don’t trust your gut, trust me: I was in the exact same place.
