after years Iâve finally succumbed & downloaded XKit. Why didnât I do this sooner
{ arrowsandgin; }
Ryan blushed a little, so touched was she by the sentiment. âAye,â she said softly, and let the subject drop.
âItâs an apartment, but a spacious one. If yeâ became uncomfortable, Iâd expect you to tell me right away, and we could leave.â
âI think Iâll be fine,â he said hesitantly, shoving his hands in his pockets. âMâsorry if I . . canât turn back, yeah? Like I said, havenât been able to since I got here . . But, still, lead thâway.â
{ dawsonkelley; }
Itâs like she couldnât escape it, the news, it was everywhere. People died and went missing all the time, right? She didnât know what made these people so special. Sure, she could sympathize with their families and friends. It was sad, she got that, but she had never been the type to mourn complete strangers. Had this been someone in the Pack, it would have been a different story. She would have raised hell. These were just strangers, people she never knew and probably would never meet.¡Rolling her eyes at the television, Dawson stood up from the table she was sitting on, then jumped down from the bench. turning to glance at the person next to her.
âWay to kill my vibe. Thatâs what they say right? I was going to say it killed my mood, but then I remembered the vibe. Itâs all about the vibe. Waitâ is it too soon to use the word killed ironically? Social constructs are so strange here, am I right?â
âHow do dead people kill your . . vibe?â he questioned, brows furrowed. âI dunno; I . . I think so? I donât, um, do people much. People arenât my thing, I guess.â
Adrien looked over at the television, not quite sure what to make of the whole situation. âDo people die here . . often? I dunno. Sâkinda strange, so many people just . . gone.â Not dead, necessarily, but missing, disappeared in some way.
I casually copied down the old ooc list because I donât actually know anyoneâs name

Inside; he had to get inside. Adrienâs mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and they just kept getting louder. Unable to escape them where he was, he ran down the street, only to pause in front of the first building he spotted. With haste, he yanked open the door and darted inside, slamming it shut behind himself and locking it.
Only then did he turn to see where he was, at which point he froze, gaze landing upon another person. ââShit, sorry.â
{ arrowsandgin; }
Her normal method when calming someone down would be to touch them, generally their shoulder or hand, but seeing as Adrien was a special case, she devised a new strategy. Ryan smiled, âNo, really, I am fine. Itâs strange how fine I am, with all of it. I didnât mean to upset yeâ.â
With a nod, she stood. âWe could go tâmy place, if yeâ like. I couldnât bring mâself to go very far from it, so itâs just across the road, there. Would that be OK?â
âMânot upset âcause of that; sâcause someone hurt you,â he mumbled, scuffing his shoe against the ground.
âY-Yeah, your place works. Sâfine. Just-- havenât been 'nside a home for a couple years, so . . might be weird, sorry.â Adrien flashed her a nervous grin, trying not to look too anxious about it. It was just a home;Â things couldnât be too bad.
{ dash-for-cash; }
   âYou good mate?â The question was simple, but the boyâs demeanor was far from. He was twitchy, anxious even and Dash didnât need to be a warlock to sense that.Â
   âWhat? Y-Yeah, fine. Great. Awesome.â Adrien shoved his hands in his pockets, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot. âYou good?â
Surprise, Surprise / Jude & Adrien

@shapeshfter
Maybe it was about time that Jude Evans admitted to himself that things beyond what his imagination could come up with were happening in the small town he grew up in. Maybe it was about time he admitted to himself that there were witches and shifters and god knew what else roaming about the streets of Downsville now. Maybe it was about time he admitted, and yet, for all he cared in the world, Jude did not. Jude did not admit. No, to do so would mean admitting to the lopsided thoughts that his colleague had been feeding him this whole time. To do so would mean believing every single word that had ever come out of their mouth.
And he was not that. He was not that.
There was a fear rampant in his bones, though. A certain fear of the unknown. A certain fear now for those that roamed amongst him and his fellow humans. There was denial, too. Denial that morphed into hope that all heâd seen were dreams. Denial that morphed into hope that all heâd seen were things he would never see again. These things, the fear and the denial, carried him through his days, though he, as ever, managed to look as composed and as put together as any. He was Jude, and Jude Evans was good at acting. Even if he could tell that the world was filled with monsters, he would still pull himself together.
Who would believe him anyway?
So, denial. So, fear. He would be fine with these for so long as no one other than Addie showed themselves to him. Only, as life would have it, life did not go Judeâs way. (Even though it should; it really should.) And so, from the corner of his eye, he saw a familiar figure of a teenage boy, a familiar figure of someone he had once bumped into. Wrong next moves were not a specialty of Judeâs, but he used one up now, as he turned his head, and met the boyâs gaze.
This was the guy-- this was the guy. Adrienâs heart thudded loudly in his chest as he spotted him, and had he not have slept the night before, he surely would have panicked greatly. As it was, he fell still, eyes wide as their gazes met. Running would have been a good idea right then, but he couldnât get his feet to move - not because of magic, but rather due to fear. Fear. He couldnât help being afraid; this was most definitely some human, and heâd simply revealed himself to him.
âĐно МаНŃ,â he whispered, wishing he could abscond from the situation entirely.
âY-Youâre not mad, are you?â

  âIs there something on my faceââ he asked, looking from behind his punching bag, âor do you like staring?â
âN-No, nothinâ-- sorry, didnât mean tâstare,â he whispered, quickly dropping his gaze to the floor. Howâd he get here now? His memory wasnât working as well as it should have, and his arrival had already slipped his mind.

and with that reply Iâm going to bed because wOW tired holy shit/// goodnight!!

She heard the growl that time, and her heart fluttered anxiously, but the apparent reason for his growl comforted her. Ryan swallowed, shaking her head. âItâs fine, yeâ donât need teâââ She didnât want Adrien anywhere near Forrest. âIâm okay, and I donât want teâ antagonize the bleedinâ git.â
Ryan wasnât familiar with that breed, but nodded anyway. âI mean, if youâre willing to show me, Iâd like teâ see a thing like that.â
âYouâre not okay-- but if yâdonât want me to, I wonât.â Adrien looked anything but calm by then, especially given that his fingers had started to tap against his thighs, but he tried to think about other things.
âI c-could, but I canât exactly-- поŃодаваŃŃ? Communicate, sorry. Canât exactly communicate like that. I mean, sâfine if I do it, but it c-canât be here. Too many . . people, yâknow?â
{ grimorgan; }
âGood call, it is getting late. With the recent headlines in town it would be best to get home before sundown.â It was a general rule of thumb, âMy mom used to say nothing good happens after 1 am. Good to meet you, Adrien.â
âYou could reschedule maybe?â
â--Is it? I didnât notice; maybe Iâve been here longer than I thought . . â Adrien looked towards the clock, flinching as the time processed. Heâd been here hours, it seemed. Shit. âGood tâmeet you too.â
âIf I knew who it was, maybe, but . . who knows. Iâll probably just . . get goinâ now, I guess. See yâaround, maybe? Morgan, yâsaid? Yeah, Morgan. Iâll try anâ remember that. âtil next time, I guess.â With that, the teenager made his way towards the door, figuring now was as good a time as any.
{ grimorgan; }
âOh you could, but if they havenât noticed yet chances are you might get away with it. Perks of small town ignorance.â Morgan attempted to put him at ease, caught off guard by his confession. â⌠Gotcha, welcome to the U-S-of A then. My nameâs Morgan.â
âSure thing man. I hope whoever youâre looking for shows.â
âW-Well-- maybe I can just . . sneak out. Mâonly gonna wait another coupleâf minutes; sâbeen half an hour . . â The teenager flashed the other a shaky smile, giving a small nod. âThanks-- mâAdrien.â
âYeah, me too . . Probably wonât, though. Sâthe kinda luck Iâve got.â

âWell, I think yeâ can control pretendinâ to be drunk, and pullinâ a girl into the woods with yeâ, lettinâ her think sheâs helpinâ yeâ out, walkinâ yeâ home.â Ryan said, and angrily. She wanted desperately to recover from the fear, and didnât know when if ever that was going to happen.Â
She cocked her head, âA really big dog? Say, a lab?â
âOh,â he noised, a grimace crossing his features. âNo, thatâs . . thatâs not right; thatâs really shitty. I-- Do yâknow his name? Iâll fuckinâ--â Another growl sounded, in stark contrast to his somewhat frail appearance. âSorry; I just-- sânot right.â
âUm-- bigger, actually? A caucasian shepherd dog-- bear-hunting dog, bred in Russia. Like, big. Yeah. I could . . sh-show you? But I dunno, I havenât been able tâchange back when I want since I got here. Sânot like before.â
{ grimorgan; }
Learning where the kid was from peaked Morganâs interest. He was willing to help as he typically was with everyone. âItâs twenty-one, so this would definitely be culture shock for a Russian. What brings you to the states?â
Turning slightly on the stool, he faced the other, âNeed me to read it? If itâs in Russian Iâm afraid youâll have to find someone else.â
âO-Oh, well-- shit, okay.Iâll-- Should I go? Am I gonna get into trouble for beinâ in here?â he questioned, frowning. âI came to . . to get away from home . . â
âN-No, I mean . . I can read it, I just donât remember writinâ it, or anythinâ like that. Thanks, though.â
