I told her that I found her old book when she came into the room, "The Textbook of Cosmetology," and her face was priceless! She said it's the book she bought in Singapore circa the year when my mom was still in primary school, which she forgot precisely what year. Begun with the discovery of this old book, she went on telling me that she used the book when she took a cosmetology class. "You took a school, Eunin? (That's how I, and all my cousins, call her as). "No, it was only a week of seminar. I wouldn't take such school - it would take a year at least, and I could not bear to stay so distant from Eungkie (my grandpa)." She used to bring along her certificate she got from this seminar and even displayed it in the beauty bar she once run. "People who came always had been so in awe when they knew that I had attended the seminar in Singapore, it's a pity though that I somehow lost it. It would have been such good piece of memory to keep." ♥️ #Euninku

Count your blessing. . The people of Rejosari Sub-village, consisted of 206 households has lost their houses and habitat in 2006 due to the sea abrasion. The rising sea level and high tides had slowly vanished their land. They have now been relocated and continued with their lives in a new land, the migrated households have now settled into two new separate villages within the same sub-district. This change did not come without impacts - they had to change their profession and source of incomes, schools and access to health centers changed too. Their used-to-be neighboring sub-village in Bedono Village is now also living under the fear of losing their land, their homes - Mondoliko sub-village has also started having disconnected road on the way to the village center and to Pantura. The Bedono village government there has been proposing for assistance from the upper level government to mitigate the risks of larger abrasion that may force another migration of the other villges to happen if not taken seriously. One of the most life-changing movie I've watched. Firstly introduced with this movie when I first considered joining my uni's journalistic club Media Parahyangan, the second I've finished watching the movie, I was directly asked by the senior, "What is your biggest aspiration in life?" - it's not about the answer I gave but it was what's come after: the encouragement and assurances my seniors gave on how important it is to live passionately and to be brave in paving the way to achieve what we are dreaming of. From that second I knew that it's gonna be a fun and interesting ride with them. And yes it was! - my whole perspective about life and its matters is very much influenced by my interaction and dialogues I have been having with the family in the club - and I'm thankful for everything we through ❤️🤗 Credits to Egi Primayogha for compiling these clips. #tbt One of the highlights during Boston programme was when we attended the Naturalization Ceremony of new US Citizens. We could feel the pride and joy these new comers shared when the judge officially congratulated them after they swore in 🤗 bet it must have been a very big relief for those who have fought their ways in gaining protection and security of their and their family's life ❤️ God bless them and may their journey be blessed too...

It is really hard to leave Portland, Maine. This part of the country has really touched my heart. Aside to its beautiful landscape and peaceful scenery, I really consider it a privilege to have the chance meeting and exchanging ideas with some part of the vibrant community here, who showed me that it really takes the whole heart to assist those in need. . Such a highlight it was to have joined Preble Street Soup Kitchen as volunteers with my IVLP fellows and served free food to the homeless people. It really amazes me how the members and volunteers take their daily time to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the unfortunates as part of their efforts to fight hunger, poverty, and homelesness. I really enjoyed my time here and am aspired to do more of such work. Besides the soup kitchen, Preble Street does a varied range of works, including safe shelter for homeless women and children, youth center, and put forth coalition work to assist and protect victims of trafficking. In doing so, they work closely with other civil society service providers, the government and law enforcement agencies. . Just feel like sharing a self-reflection: I feel like God loves me much that I'm sure He'd be protecting me no matter what. Every of His plan is the best, I believe. Thus, hesitation to do kind everyday and every time is not necessary even though as time went by, I have learned that people might just take it for granted, but I would like to remind myself again that God loves me and that He would show me the best way to keep me protected or to get me learned and developed into better self.
