Yeah to me among other things it definitely is about my queerness. She was forced to be this sweet harmless girl who just trusted mother gothel and even though she was actually super sick of it she held onto the hope that that was going to make her happy. Then she goes out and experiences the joy of the world and freedom and is able to learn her own personality instead of the one she was supposed to have.
