The Sons of Skiadrum

He lays aside the vegetable and the knife as he hears Rogues words and right now he pulls him into a close hug. “I’m here now, Rogue. Besides, I bet she did everything to make you believe I wouldn’t care at all about you” is he right now saying, brushes gently some of the pitch-black hair aside and looks gently at him. The way Rogue sounds troubles him. It kind of looks like, they really tried to break his self-confidence and even his self-esteem. “I won’t let you face your demons all alone. I’m with you, no matter what, Rogue”

When he was pulled into the hug, his eyes widened for a moment before nuzzling his face into the others chest. He hated feeling so small compared to the other but this hug...this affection was something he hadnt felt in so long, he almost craved it. Looking up at the other after a brief moment he nodded with a small smile. “The same goes for you. You wont have to face anything alone so long as I am around....I promise”

Gajeel knew that Rogue was avoiding the question, and he couldn’t help, but give him that mischievous smirk. Something tells me that your keeping a secret from someone,” He chuckled as he switched his other mind and pondered what he should eat. While he had been training often he would forget about eating anything, but metal. Sure it sustained his body for energy, but he needed the nourishment as well. Meat was always the best thing for his diet and seemed more satisfying as well. “Chicken wings, I guess. What do ya feel like having?” The restaurant came into view as he starred from the outside window and saw other people chewing away.

“Chicken wings sounds pretty good” He smiled softly. “It...well its nothing important. I was just sick for a while and I didnt want to worry anyone” he answered, though it was only somewhat truthful. He didnt want anyone to know just what his sickness consisted of, it was something he had battled since he was a child and he was sure Gajeel didnt need to know about things like that. “This place has some delicious wings. Do you know what type you want? I think I’m going to go with their sweet chili. Its spicy but sweet and incredibly good” He smiled softly, opening the door to let Gajeel in first. 

One hand rested itself on the left shoulder to reassure him all was well.“The only thing that sucks is I feel a bit drained after I transform back, but other than that there doesn’t seem to be anything else wrong.” Sting starred into those crimson eyes that were full of concern.

“I suppose thats not bad.....I’ll take care of you after so you dont have to worry about that” He smiled softly, still incredibly worried about his Twin, especially with everything that seemed to happen while he was away. “As long as you’re sure its not going to hurt you...”

Sting rubbed the side of his arm in a nervous fashion. What he was about to suggest may sound weird, but Rogue was the only one he could show.“Well if ya don’t mind watching me do it just to see for yourself how I can then you’ll see what I’m getting at.”

“I dont mind....is there anything I would have to do?” He questioned, a little bit nervous. While he was nervous, he wanted to do whatever he could do to help his Twin. Sting was the most important person in his life, if there was something he could do to help him he’d do it without a second thought. “Does it hurt?”

“Let’s say this, I had to learn how to cook in an instant while I stayed with Jiemma” is he only saying as he lays the washed zucchini on the cutting board and shows Rogue now how the younger one should cut it. “His daughter can he quite a monster on her own too, but if you know how to follow, she’s a real good teacher when it comes to cooking”

“I’m sorry.....I should...I should have done something...done more to bring you home but....but I thought you...” He frowned, biting his lip though he watched the other cut the zucchini. He felt horrible for what his brother had to endure. While he, himself had to endure beatings nothing compared to what his brother suffered. “I wish I would’ve brought you home sooner.”

“If you add some zucchini into the sauce, it becomes jucier and tastier” is he right now explaining him as he looks right at Rogue. “So as starter, would you be so nice to heat a pot of water. Just add a little bit of oil and a little dash of salt into the water” is he right now asking him while he prepares the garlic cloves to be added as he peels and chops them right now

“Alright....” He did as he was told, pouring some water into the pot before setting it onto the stove and turning it on to boil. While that was set, he reached and poured a bit of oil and a punch of salt before turning his attention to what the other was doing. “You’re really good at all this...arent you?”

With a smile he brushes gently over Rogues cheek, then he shows him what pots they will need. “This is a very simple dish to cook. All we need are ground beef, fresh tomatoes and tomato sauce as well italian herbs like oregano, basil and thyme. If you like, we can add some zucchini an garlic to it” is he right now explaining to him with a smile

He flushed softly before pulling out the ingredients they would need. “I....I suppose we could add that if you think it’ll taste good. I do like the taste of garlic though I dont know if I’ve ever really had zucchini” He shrugged, putting everything on the counter. 

“Yeah, I remember....is there anything I need to do to help you with that?” He asked, he hadn’t transformed himself....though he felt as though he was close, especially with the way his magic had been messing with him recently, so he wasnt sure exactly what Sting had to go through just yet. 

“What other reason is there then?” He figured Rogue had his own reasons and perhaps he could of be avoiding his twin Sting. “It gets very hectic and boring at times.” It was his only explanation towards this as he cracked his knuckles. “That sounds like a good idea, but I am getting hungry first.”

“Hungry? What do you want?” He asked, trying to avoid the question about why he had vanished. His cover was that he was on a job but the real reason was a secret even from his Twin. “I’m getting pretty hungry as well to be honest so I’ll let you choose”

He only nods and gazes at the younger one. He had indeed risked everything just to keep him save. He even risked being hated by the one person dear to him, but in his eyes this was all worth it. “Yes, it’s called Pasta a’scuitta” is he right now explainign him as they now enter the house not to early. So once they head towards the kitchen, you can hear outside the rain fall down as if someone left the faucet wide open.

“Rain....I actually enjoy the rain” Rogue smiled, looking out of the window as he took in a breath. The scent and sounds of rain always seemed to relax him. After a moment, he returned his attention to the other and leaned against the kitchen counter. “Pasta a’scuitta.....sounds kind of nice. What can I do to help?”

“I dunno just because I can be an ass at times.” He meant it as he would at times poke fun at him The iron slayer continued to walk with Rogue as the resturant came into view. “I’ve been okay, just doing missions, training with Lily and staying away from the guild at times.”  

“Just because you’re an ass at times doesnt mean I would try and stay away from you Gajeel” He smiled, trying to poke fun at the other dragon slayer. “Why are you staying away from the guild? Should we maybe take a job together or something....maybe....give you a break from everyone?”
