Laxus didn’t visit many other guilds all that often the Slayer was busy more often than not. He’d meant to stop by Sabertooth earlier but as it turned out he’d not had the time to do so. With the holidays now behind them he had some free time though it was by no means an exuberant amount. He had a few days at the most or a few hours at the least.

“I have to say your guildhall looks just as nice outside as it does inside.”

Laxus didn’t really talk much in regard to Fairy Tail but the members had calmed considerably since the end of the war. The members treated one another with much more respect than they had before. It was nice to be able to walk into the guildhall and not have a flying Natsu in his face. People seemed to like manhandling the short male for some reason.

“It was strange for the first couple months but I’ve gotten used to the much quieter atmosphere.”

He had a feeling Sting was going to be surprised by that bit of information. Not many knew of the various changes the guild had undergone since the building got rebuilt after the war. Some people took on more jobs than others but everyone was actually working as much as they wanted to now.

“I’m pretty sure that goes for all the guilds, but I know what ya mean. I recently got an influx of members that wanted to join Sabertooth and most of them passed. Some didn’t and I can guess that’s why they decided to join Fairy Tail instead.” In order to get into Sabertooth, the mages had to pass a series of tests that dealt with ones physical status, emotional state and mental clarity. Some of the questions on the form before the tests even began were the general ones to see if a mage could be a team player or not and how they would fare in different situations involving missions and completing certain jobs. If Sting did not approve of what he read on the forms, he would simply reject them for he was looking for mages that fit certain standards and qualifications that he, Rogue and Minerva wanted in the guild. 

“Some didn’t have that drive of what it means to be a tiger. It’s nothing personal, but I don’t accept just anyone in my guild especially not after what my guild and I went through in the war. Others got to know how to fight, defend themselves and others and got to have a lot of heart and what they can add to my guild as a whole.” 

Natsu wasn’t as dumb or destructive as people thought he was. Over the years he’d grown into a fine wizard. One who didn’t cause rampant destruction when he didn’t reign in his magic to one who was capable of going on jobs by himself and finishing them with relative ease. He’d not seen Sting or Rogue in some time but it wasn’t like he was intending on stopping by the Sabertooth guildhall on his way back from his latest job or anything. It just happened that he was passing through the city it was located in was all.

“How’s everything going for you as Guild Master?”

He was more curious than anything else and if Sting was keeping in contact with the other Masters he’d know that Natsu had been going on a lot of jobs and spending basically no time within Fairy Tail unless he had to. It had nothing to do with him lacking Jewel or anything like that. He just didn’t want to have to be around all the happy couples there more than he had to be. Considering he had resigned himself to being alone and all.

“I won’t bother you for long. I need to get back and check in before taking a day to rest and picking another job up.”

It had been sometime since the two dragon slayers exchanged words, but the memories were still there. There was just something about the thrill of battle in their rivalry that brought out the warrior in the white dragon slayer even if he was not participating in any event at the moment. Even if they had not fought one of another in sometime, Sting still craved that chance whenever he saw Natsu.  Not wanting to switch to that topic, he settled with simple conversation instead. His dragon instinct alone made Sting’s eyes light up at the savage spar that could take place if he so wanted to. Imagining  the torrents of wind slash across his face and the fury of Natsu’s flames, his smile broadened . The scent of crimson spewing about mixed in with perspiration among the air was the sweet smell of victory if the two were to exchange blows.

Coming out of his daydream or a past experience, he blinked his eyes and acknowledged the fire dragon slayer instead. “ I’m good. You’re not bothering me. I was actually thinking of the good ole times we had back then. Not to far back though. I remember them like they were yesterday. I’m sure you recall. If you’re up I’d like to have ya hang around so we can catch up on what you’ve been up to and I what I have been doing.”

The day had started out as much as one would expect for someone so involved in completing paperwork and other tasks. Sting was ready to get out of the guild and go for a stroll to clear his head when he recognized the familiar scent of someone close to him and spent time with whenever he could. Laxus would always have that particular aroma of burnt static.

“Thanks, I would expect as much especially with Sabertooth’s reputation as good as it is.” The blond had signed some documents that had completed the job requests that were taken care of and expenses were dulled out to the ones that had just arrived. “So... how goes your guild Laxus? I haven’t been able to visit as much as I would like being a guild master and such.”

Rogue yawned as he walked back into the guildhall from the job he’d finished. Traveling on any manner of transportation was never fun the motion sickness candies and potions only worked for so long, especially when the rides went longer than three hours as this one had. He was no longer woozy, dizzy, or nauseated at least so that was a plus. When he spotted Sting within the main part of the guildhall he, as he always did, went over to the Master of the guild and nodded in greeting once he was noticed.

“Hello, Guild Master. I apologize for it taking so long for my return from my job, it seems the train had to take a small detour that wasn’t as small as they led us to believe.”

Sting looked up from having come back from an important obligation of his own and narrowed his eyes slightly at how Rogue his twin dragon addressed him. “Dude... how many times have I told ya not to call me that Master crap? We have been  together for who knows how long and you still try to be act so formal with me?” He then returned a playful gesture and purposely messed up Rogue’s hair. “At least you made me smile compared to the kind of day I had earlier.”
