Break In
Yuffie casually ignored the groans. That was Cloudâs way of saying that she had ruined his napâŚ.whatever. Cloud needed to be up, he had a guest now! The girl was comfortable around him, so when he shot her the near murderous glance, she just gave him the cheeky grin she always gave. Cloud was one of the few people who could actually put up with her and her energy and she was happy that she could rely on him as a friend. Yeah she could be a nuisance at times but honestly, who isnât?Â
She rarely heard his accent. Then again, Cloud was usually on the silent side. His accent though made Yuffie giggle, itâs not every day someone went back to their hometown roots. âAw, I missed ya, Spikey.â Â
As she rummaged through the fridge and cabinets, she got the stove running and the materials ready for her to start cooking. âIs Zack on a job?â She rarely showed it but she was always concerned for her friendâs well-being. When around Cloud though, she opened up more than she usually would with someone else. âI know heâs a great at what he does - I mean, heâs almost at my level of greatness- but I hope heâs doing okay.â She fell silent while she started to cook.
Despite his begrudging attitude, he really did for the most part enjoy Yuffies company. He was always a better listener than he was at talking, so he found he got along best with people that were very exuberant and more vivacious than he. Raising his hand, he continued to shift through blonde spikes with his finger tips, like his hair needed to be fixed or something but there was no taming that monster. So with a yawn he just waited for his coffee.
âMmmm.â Was all he said in response at being missed, though he missed her too. Having her around brought some sort of normality, despite how odd it was to keep having someone break into your house. It was... comforting. Normal was comforting and made him feel less on alert with someone around to the point where it was obvious that he visibly relaxed more with company.Â
The topic of Zack was always one that made his eyes get this sort of glossed look, like he was as much into the conversation as he was thinking about something else. It was such a strange feeling that he would never really admit to having. âYeah. He left yesterday some time.â Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his phone and read through his messages and let out a sigh, âHeâs doing okay. Back to his puppy self.â There was some silence for a moment as his mind wandered before he heard the timer of the coffee pot go off and he started to move around Yuffie to gather various items for his coffee.
He still seemed a bit far off as he spoke, âWhat brings ya here?â
