Jareth saw her standing her ground against him again. It was good to see that that hadn't changed.
"I am surprised you remember me. Most humans forget true magic as they grow up. Such a pity," he remarked.
It was rare for a human to be able to continue to see true magic an a adult. Humans had this nasty habit of needing to find a logical reason for something and allowing themselves to be lead astray by gossip, neon signs, and the need to discard what they deemed childish when they grew up.
"Perhaps I'm here now to fulfill a wish." he replied. "I can grant other wishes besides taking unwanted children. Although, speaking of that baby you wished away so carelessly, how he is doing? He was lively little chappy under my care."
"I never saw why I still couldn't believe in true magic even as I got older." She shrugged. As for the Goblin King himself? Well, he wasn't someone that was easy to forget. For her at least.
"A wish? From you?" She scoffs, eyeing him incredulously. After taking her little brother she wasn't inclined to take him on that offer anytime soon. "No thanks. I think I'll pass on that." She already learned her lesson at fifteen.
She feels...conflicted when he brings up Toby. Sarah doesn't want to give him any information but her little brother hadn't been harmed when he was in Jareth's care. But that was the bare minimum. "Toby's doing fine. He's going to turn nine in a couple of months." A fond smile pulls at her lips. "Can't believe how big he's getting..."
"Holding on to that belief through adulthood has become quite rare for humans these days," Jareth commented. In the olden days, people continued to believe in true magic through old age, knowng not to anger a spellcaster. But that time had come and gone. Such a pity.
"It's good that humanity is treating your little brother well. Some of my subject were not be so fortunate to return to loving, warm homes in your world." His duty could seen from various points of view, but some of his subjects had been wished away from the Aboveground because their parent or guardian didn't want them at all. "Toby is also rather observant. Hence my reason for coming here. He made a wish, pleading for anyone who would hear, to grant you a true wish. Perhaps he thinks you are lonely or struggling."
"Wait. Is that...Is it really you?" Oberon asked, looking at Thumbelina with moss green eyes under a wild mane of crimson hair. His eyes were on the verge of tears. (I hope that this is okay. Oberon based on A Midsummer Night's Dream with my own twist is a muse of mine now so...) @shadowmothtales
Thumbelina struggled to understand the Faerie king's reaction, for one thing, she'd only been among the faeries a short time, so there was no way they could have met before now.
But the king looked so familiar, his hair a similar reddish color as her own. Thumbelina closed her eyes tightly, this was so confusing, and her head was starting to ache.
"I... I'm sorry, Your Majesty, I don't believe we've been formally introduced?"
He let out a breath to try and regain his composure. He reached hand to wipe away any tears that were forming in his eyes. With his eyes momentarily free from tears, he saw Thumbelina close her eyes.
Oberon stood up as tall and clear his throat.
"I am King Oberon of the Spring Court," the king introduced himself. "I had a daughter, who was stolen from me and my wife years ago. I think you can see the similarities between our appearances. Please forgive me. I did not mean to overwhelm you, Princess."
Thumbelina's heart immediately went out to the king and his queen.
Her own mother had told her of her own losses once Thumbelina could understand such things.
The loss of a child was horrible.
"I am so sorry, Your Majesty." She said hoping her words were enough.
"For your loss, and for my reaction."
"Thank you, but please forgive me for my reaction," he said. "Congratulations on your marriage. I have heard that Prince Cornelius is an honorable fairy.I'm certain that he will be a good and faithful husband to you. My dearest queen apologizes for not being able to make it to wish you and the prince well. She's currently busy tending to some of our sick. She's an incredible healer and I won't deny her that calling."

There has been at least twice when Sarah has been drunk and quoted Shakespeare to Jareth (some lines she got right and some are way off, but she tried). During these times, she basically made Jareth some interesting fusion of Oberon and Robin Goodfellow/Puck (mostly) with some bits of Romeo and Hamlet thrown in. What part is she? It's anyone guess, maybe all of them, including the roles she gave Jareth.
Yes, she has literally said to Jareth: "Believe me, king of shadows, thou art the most handsome... beautiful... and clever, cleverer than the fair sun and the envious moon."

shakespeare really went "what if they had fairies in ancient greece" and he's not given nearly enough credit for that btw

"Your success hinges on you having imperfect information." (to Romeo from Robin Goodfelllow/Puck).
Romeo was sobbing. Balthasar had just come and gone, having brought the worst news he could ever imagine. He stayed there, on his knees, hands scraping at the Mantuan soil, determined that it couldn't be so. It couldn't be so! Juliet couldn't be dead! She couldn't! But... Balthasar wouldn't lie. Tears flooded down his face and he didn't even have it in him to ashamedly scrub at his cheeks with the sleeves of his shirt. None of that mattered when Juliet was dead.
He didn't know how long he stayed there, even after his tears had run dry, his hands and pants dusty from mindlessly stirring up the dust beneath him, but the pain didn't fade... and so on his rash fury, he made a decision. He stood and finally scrubbed at his face, giving a sniffle. If he couldn't be with Juliet in life, he would be with her in death. He would go home, go to her crypt, and die by her side and...
Strangely, he didn't even flinch at the voice from behind him, though he tightened his sore hands into fists. He didn't know what to make of the voice all the same, but he didn't turn, only taking a shaky inhale of breath and trying to maintain what little composure he had.
"I don't know what you're talking about... and you don't know what you are talking about." He turned around now to look at the stranger with fierce, hardened eyes that only managed to maintain their edge theough his tear stricken face.
@shadowmothtales
Robin glared at a Romeo with jade eyes like cold fire beneath a waist length mane of raven hair. Translucent jade wings on his back flapped a few times as signal of his annoyance at the situation.
"For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo," he spoke. "If you want a happy ending with your beloved, you will listen to me, boy."
He was irritated. If he hadn't been requested to be here, he would have been fine allowing this human to deal with the fresh grief.
"Your beloved took a potion to be in deathlike sleep so that she could escape and be with you when she awoke. It seems that no one gave you the message. My king and queen are being generous and sent me to assist with this situation," Robin continued. "And here I am, swifter than arrow from Tartar's bow. I would rather not return to Fairyland without doing what I was sent here for."

So probably an unpopular opinion, but the way that I understand private role play blogs is that they select who to follow and role play with. In that case, I do not believe they should be having promos because if they have promos, the way I see it is that they are open to anyone following them and interacting with the muses on their blog.
โDo you trust me?โ Anakin to Obi-Wan
"I admit that tense have been high and I have been rather stressed from the war, but I do trust you," Obi-Wan replied. Things had been rough on both of them, well, all the Jedi and the clones, really. "Do you trust me in return?"

I have this idea that Sarah bakes Jareth desserts and sweet breads because she read in a book that several magical beings, including fae and fairies, like sweet foods. As a bonus, she has become a better baker as a result of this.
@twistedtangledfate
"Where I come from we, do not ignore dreamers or those who speak prophecy," Robin spoke to Helaena. "Quite frankly, your family should be ashamed of their ignorance. But please forgive me. My temper gets out of hand sometimes towards those who deserve it. I am Robin Goodfellow. I doubt you've heard of me. My house tends to keep hidden for the most part. Although, you may have heard the name of my Lord brother, Oberon." (from Robin/Puck in a HotD verse). @shadowmothtales
Helaena could not remember when anyone had stood up for her against her family, not once in her life.
Aegon had always been cruel when he found her annoying, Aemond had threatened to kill her when she didn't do what she wanted, her mother seemed to struggle with her attachment to Helaena, and as far as the others went there wasn't much good will between her elder sister and herself.
But this gentleman had stood up for her, he called her something as well, he called her a Dreamer.
"Dreamer, is that what you call someone like me... these visions, are they really prophecy?" Most thought her mad, she had even started to believe it herself.
"Yes, Princess. We use several terms for some those who possess your gift. The common titles are Dreamer, Oracle, and the Speaker of Truth, but there are others," he told her. "What you see is prophecy and visions of what will come to pass. I can't say for certain that all you see will happen, but many of your visions will. In my homeland, people with your gift are respected and cherished. Perhaps there is a cultural difference, but I find your treatment here by your family quite distasteful."
He words were genuine, not spoken out of a need to flatter her, but a desire for him to speak the truth.
"I also must say that you are the most sane member of the royal house that I've met so far. Your parents have been amicable enough to me. As your brothers, they...how do I put this kindly?" Robin thought for a moment. "Need to improve themselves with their honor and intelligence."
