New Art Progress & Mental Health Blog

For those of you who don’t want to/can’t watch the video:

I have Bipolar 2 Disorder and have had my ability to love and create art robbed from me since I was a teenager. Since receiving treatment in early 2015, I’ve become a much happier and healthier individual.

But making art has still been a huge source of depression & anxiety; I feel like I have lost too much time to ever be great at art. That if I can not be perfect, I am worthless and should just give up.

I’m very tired of feeling this way and I’m trying to take back control of my art career and my mental health. I’m restarting my own art education, and so far it has been phenomenal. I’ve seen a lot of improvement since I started studying a month ago. But my own inner critic is still getting in my way and I have to try very hard to push through sometimes.

So I’m revamping my blog. I’m making it a place to post about my art progress, talk about my mental health, gather resources, start conversations with others. But above all else, to keep myself motivated and hold myself accountable.

I’m very excited and have already gotten started.

#couldntsleep . I've been spending a lot of my mental bandwidth on the #novel I'm writing lately. So here's a pair of my #characters from it. Belladonna (sitting) is a black market book trader and Reed (standing) is a caravan merchant. They're both developing pretty well as I build out the world bible and story marks. Reed is the second main character and Belladonna is a second tier, but pivitol character.
