โ [ โก ] she has to hide the amused huff when she listens to the younger speak. sheโs not ย a stranger to sweet talkโ after all it was not that long ago that she was an undergraduate student. sheโs seen her peers sweet talk their ways into the hearts of their professors and teacherโs assistants. and of course, sheโs done her fair share of sweet talk to particularly difficult professors. not her proudest moments, but it worked out in the endโevident by the plethora of recommendation letters she had. โ not at all, this is my time to help you all. โ she says, which technically is not a lie.
she leans forward in her chair, and eyes the paper that was slammed down onto her desk. this time she does huff once she realized that her inkling that the younger wasnโt even her student came true. she doesnโt know how this rumor that she knew everything about math came to be. afterall, sheโs still a new face to the campus. but well, she canโt deny the girl in front of her, especially since the rumor was not false, and she was well versed in math. sheโs silent as the younger stares at her in the eye, but eventually sighs. ย
โ alright. โ she says, begrudgingly. ย โ let me see the paper. โ she takes the assignment from the grips of the younger as she says this and scans her eyes over the content. once sheโs finished, she looks up at the pleading eyes of kayla. ย โ what part are you unclear on? ย โ ย ย ย
kayla huffed in disappointment, yooa didnโt seem to be falling for her nice girl act. oh well. If she happened to act like a bitch in front of the graduate student, yooa shouldnโt be surprised. she leaned back on her chair and crossed her arms, looking away from the teacherโs assistant. thisย โnice girlโ act worked on a lot of her professors, so why wasnโt it working for this one?ย โi guess itโs because sheโs also a student, and not technically a professor.โ she thought. why did she even trust her friends? how was she supposed to trust someone who wasnโt even a professor? she shouldโve just visited one of herย professors instead of a teacherโs assistant. โwell, thereโs no leaving now.โ she thought, the corners of her lips into a scowl.ย
kaylaโs thoughts were interrupted by yooaโs unnecessary chatter. if she was stuck on only one part, she wouldnโt have came here in the first place.ย friends and connections were usually kaylaโs way of solving one small problem. but this wasnโt one small problem, this was a huge problem. her reputation in the family was at stake! everyone would look down on her and call her unworthy! and kayla wasnโt about to let that happen, oh no.ย
โuh, everything.โ she mumbled in embarrassment.ย
