Once opened, her mother is seen racing around yelling out to Hal to find her FAVORITE pair of earrings or else ! Hal glances from the newspaper over at Betty with an EYEROLL & SHRUG, gesturing over at the said earrings awaiting for her mother on the coffee table. Announces he found them, getting up and grabbing at the tiny jewels, to hand them to her mom. Next, her mother emerges from the next room her dad tagging along.

To not have anyone over, basically the MOM thing to do. —-NODDING to all of this, taking each and every information known to mankind. Hal thankfully begins to lead Alice out, who is STILL going on and on ( & on. ) –until her dad shuts it closed, her mother voice nothing but a muffled sound behind closed barrier. Having the house to herself, taking two-step at a time as she rushes up the stairs.
A grin gracing her lips, humming to herself as she opens her door… and it’s like a scene in one of those ROMANTIC movies, she treasured so much. But in the pit of her stomach, it’s a twisted, sickening feeling. Seeing Jughead there knocking LOUDLY on her window… her body stills at the sight of her… breath hitched in her throat… eyes larger than the usual.
So… why does she go on over to open it for him ? Is it because she is navie ? Believes his reason for being here so late… isn’t for sadistic intentions. Swallows the lump, shaky hands pushing the window open, arms coming to wrap around herself, avoiding eye contact as much as possible. ❝ —Wh.. What are you doing here Jughead ? It’s late and you shouldn’t be… here…. ❞
lanky legs maneuver themselves to pull him through the now-opened window, allowing the jones male to stand up at his full height ━ and to stagger over her in said department. a crooked grin tugged at the outer rims of chapped lips, hands being shoved into coat pockets at his sides. ❛ i think we both know that, betty cooper. ❜ a voice which caught itself on the mention of her name, dragging it out in prolonged mockery. ❛ why’d you open the window, then ? doesn’t your mom tell you not to let strangers in the house ? ❜ footsteps echoed in the dead silence of an empty home, the floorboards creaking beneath jughead’s weight.
of course, he didn’t desire to cause any harm ━ merely slight raucous to and unnerve the blonde. to show his place; that even despite the deep-seeded dislike they both claimed to hold toward one another, or at least that they fronted to outside sources, she’d still open herself up to him time and time again. it was wired in the cooper’s forgiving nature. a checkmate to be thoroughly advocated and manipulated. ❛ just wanted to talk to riverdale high’s miss innocent, see what you’ve been up to. ❜
