She was definitely not expecting to see Jughead here, but her face completely lit up when she had saw yet another familiar face around here. “I’ve been here for a little while. It’s about time you showed up.” She joked a bit with him. “I mean, I knew you would eventually.”

 “Better late than never.”  He smiled at her and shook his head playfully. “I’ve already seen Cheryl Blossom. I feel like I missed the memo on a field trip,” he teased. “I am so happy to see you. I was starting to think I’d be stuck here alone.” 

“Not long. A few hours.” An awkward moment of silence before, “I leave Riverdale only to find myself on the wrong bus and stuck here. I just saw Betty. Is there some girls only vacation happening that I wasn't informed of?”

“You’re probably really going to regret that in a minute.” Simon said, wrinkling his nose as he realized the human hadn’t caught him putting blood in his food just a second prior.

It didn’t take long to realize something wasn't right. His expression one of disgust as he picked up a drink to clear the nasty taste. “Instant regret. That was the worst thing I’ve ever had in my life. Tasted like biting the inside of your mouth.” 

“Didn’t have to be.”

“It didn’t. I’ll admit I have a terrible case of sticky fingers. Food is a weakness.”

“And what if I was?”

“Highly unlikely. Mistakes might have been made and we can’t undo them. If it’s that important I'm sure I can get you a replacement.”

“Don’t make me stab you with this fork.”

“That seems a bit extreme for a tiny bit of petty thievery but fair enough.”

‘ just because i didn’t eat it right away doesn’t mean i wasn’t going to eat it at all, ’ veronica says, eyes narrowed. it’s really not that big of a deal though. ‘ well, i hope you enjoyed it. ’

“No one ever eats the cherries. I couldn’t let perfectly good food go to waste. Rest assured it was well taken care of." 

“You’re more than welcome to take it” Betty smiled happily when she noticed the familiar face in front of her once she had actually realized it was him. “Jug?!”

 It was a grab and go, not realizing who the victim of his theft was until he heard his name. He whipped around on the spot, face already breaking into a grin. "Betty? When did you get here?”

“Still no harm in asking first.”

“True. But it’s a little late for that.”

You are right. I don’t have much of an appetite, go for it.

He hadn’t paid much attention to who he’d stolen the cherry from but there was no mistaking that voice. “Cheryl Blossom. How long have you been here?”

“You know most people would have their hands removed for trying something like that.”

“You're not wrong. I can give it back. It won’t be quite the same though.”

Loki cocked his head at the boy, arching a brow. “To help a few…friends.” Also because the home I’d known for hundreds of years is obliterated. he thought, but left that out. “New York looks lovelier than I remember.”

"You’re serious...” It was definitely odd for someone to imply they weren’t from earth. Jughead could at least play along. Sure, the world these days was going straight to hell but who could blame anyone for coming to the aid of their friends. “Friends are a pretty good reason. I hope they appreciate it.” He shrugs, “New York is alright. Didn’t think I’d say it but I think I miss small town living.”
