God, who is perfect in all He says and does and will never command or condone sin, is the same God who:

A man taking a girl’s virginity (except in rape) could pay the dad the full price and it was just a business transaction. The discovery of a bride not being a virgin was scandalous because it constituted fraud. Since we don’t sell women any more, this prohibition no longer applies.
