I was walking my dog today and this little boy stopped to pat her and was asking questions about her. He wanted to know where I got her and I said she was adopted from a shelter.

Heartbreak is not being in love at 16 with some silly boy who doesn’t love you back, despite what they say. Real heartbreak is not getting to experience the important things in life because you’re too damn strung up on a boy who won’t remember your name in a month. So, darling, find happiness in the smallest things, like being awake at 5:38am and watching the sunrise, or staying up until 01:30am sat outside looking at the stars because “looking into infinity you’ll realise there’s much more to life than what you do everyday.” Find happiness in the way your best friend laughs at your jokes that no one else besides her would understand. Find happiness in the way your mother makes your favourite dinner just because she saw you in a bad mood. Or find happiness in finally finishing your favourite book that you took forever to pick up and read. But most importantly, find happiness within yourself.
