So my financial situation has just moved from “awkward laughing into the abyss” to “the abyss laughs back.” In short, I am:

The long and short of it is that we moved cross-country so my wife could work at a job that would catapult us out of poverty–only to find out that when they SAID “You’ll start work in September,” they MEANT “Or June the year after, probably. We don’t know anymore.”

So things are…. not good. We are of course both looking for new jobs here, but in the meantime, there’s that whole -gestures vaguely- food thing, and -gestures vaguely-er- rent thing, and -gestures at sick cat, who is sneezing adorably- vet bills thing.

I’m not expecting commissions to cover all that–even just a few bucks for groceries would be enough to get the financial abyss to stop cackling with glee. But here’s the run-down of emergency commission prices!

$10 - a bust, in color! Like this!

I’m far enough through my plush commissions now to feel happy enough to open up

2 spaces

for embroidery hoop commissions. These are also kind of emergency commissions, as my husband and I rather unexpectedly lost a massive portion of our income this week just gone by, and we were not prepared for it at all so we’re quite a bit short this month.

Here is my price list for the embroidery hoops:

I generally only go up to 6" hoops in size because any bigger than that will take a lot longer than I’m happy with for waiting a commissioner wait, but if you do want a larger hoop size, I can go up to 10". Please ask for a price quote for sizes above the ones listed in the price list. Shipping is free for UK customers, £5 for Europe and £7 for Worldwide.

The difference between Standard and Full/Complex can basically be seen between these two hoops:

Standard:

Single character, very minimal background.

Complex:

Full background, difficult characters to embroider (no matching thread colours, so needs excessive blending, lots of details).

I’m happy to do things of a cute/cartoony nature, like Pokemon, Studio Ghibli, cute adoptables/characters (please make sure you own the characters if commissioning an OC), MLP etc. If you’d like to commission a hoop, please send me a note, or get in touch via email at ella[at]anwenatelier.com with Embroidery Commission as the subject :heart: Please give me as much detail as you can for what you’d like me to embroider in your email, and any reference images if needed.

Terms & Conditions

Once I know what you’d like, I’ll be able to give you a price quote in line with what’s written above, and if you’re happy, then I’ll send you an invoice for a 50% deposit via PayPal.

This is non-refundable, so please think carefully about your commission.

Once this has been paid, I’ll begin sketching up two or three designs based around what you’ve asked for. If you want to make any adjustments, then I’m more than happy to do that at this stage. Once you’ve picked the final design, I’ll draw up the final image in Photoshop, as well as create a rough colour scheme for it in both Photoshop and in threads too, and send it all to you for approval. Once this has been approved, then I’ll send through the invoice for the remaining 50% + postage. After this has been paid, I will begin embroidering your commission and send you regular images and WIPs via email so you can watch your hoop progress :heart:

The design process can take anywhere up to a week to do, depending on how many revisions are needed. Please note that once I’ve transferred the image top the fabric (after the second invoice is paid), then I can no longer make adjustments, except for colour changes if I haven’t already embroidered that area. If you’re unhappy with a colour once it’s embroidered, I can unpick the stitches and redo it, but please understand that this is a long process and can incur an additional charge.
