This Day Aria | Yan!Jamil vs Minajael x M!Yuu
A/N: Only Jamil is a yandere here, ending is left ambiguous. This is a timeskip au where they're all fully adults.
For years, Minajael fought hard against his family for the chance to marry the man he loved. He didn't mind that his partner was a man or that he was a mere commoner in another world, he loved him anyways.
Minajael stubbornly kept pushing until, exhausted by his defiance, his family finally gave in and allowed him to marry the love of his life. The weeks after his family surrendered were a blur of exciting preparation. For the first time in years, Minajael felt the heavy weight lift from his chest. He focused on the wedding plans, choosing silks that sparkled brightly and organizing a celebration worthy of the man who had captured his heart.
At first, it was going well. Servants bowed lower and decorators eagerly supported his ideas.
But slowly, the atmosphere changed.
The smiles from the palace staff became tight and fragile, shattering the moment he turned his back. Whispers died down as he entered a corridor, leaving behind a heavy, mocking silence. Even the air in his own estate felt different, it was thick with a secret he wasn't part of. When Minajael tried to ask the head designer about the progress on their wedding robes, the man wouldn't even meet his eyes. He trembled as he muttered excuses.
Minajael's unease turned into cold, knotting dread. Something was terribly wrong.
He was on his way to the guest quarters to find his fiance and ensure his safety, but a pair of royal guards intercepted him in the hall. Their faces were carved from stone. "The King commands your presence in the throne room. Immediately."
When the doors creaked open, Minajael's heart sank. The chamber was utterly devoid of the usual lively court. At the far end sat his father, looking down from the throne with a cold, distant gaze.
Standing next to the throne, arms crossed and wearing a calm expression, was Jamil.
Minajael slowed his pace, his eyes shifting between the two men. Jamil's presence here, standing side by side with his father in an empty throne room, immediately set Minajael on edge.
"Father?" Minajael asked "What's going on? Why was I called?"
"Silence!" His father spoke, his voice shattering the air around them.
Minajael froze. He looked up at Jamil, desperately seeking for a clue, but Jamil just grinned subtly, his eyes glinting with a soft, knowing mockery.
"Minajael Tealrajah." His father continued, his voice lacking any of the warmth he typically showed to him or any of the resignated tone he'd given him weeks ago. "Your titles are hereby revoked and you are no longer recognized as a member of the royal family."
Hearing those words come out of his father's mouth, Minajael took a step back in shock.
"Crimes? Father, what are you talking about? You gave us your blessing! We're getting married in a week!"
"There will be no wedding." His father announced, his tone cold and flat.
"What?" Minajael said as a wave of pure panic rolled over him. "Where is Yuu?! If you've touched him..."
"By royal decree." the King's voice echoed, striking down Minajael's growing panic. "You are banished from this palace, and if you attempt to return, it shall result in your death. Seize him."
Before Minajael could react, the guards seized him, locking his wrists in a chains he recognized instantly.
Minajael's heart froze. These weren't the usual royal chains, these were ancient relics, used by past sultans to suppress any mages before they were executed or banished. To think his father had taken an ancient artifact of the crown just to use it against him.. Minajael couldn't believe the reality of the situation.
"Father!!" Minajael rasped. He fell to his knees, his hands made heavy as lead by the artifacts. "You can't do this! You're taking my magic, sending me away... for what?!"
The King didn't even look at him. He just waved his hand at the guards.
Due to his magic being locked away, Minajael couldn't fight back. He was completely defenseless. The guards dragged him away, the doors shut with a loud thud, locking him out of his home, the painful weight of the chains made one thing clear.
They hadn't just stolen his future with the man he loved, they had stolen his power to fight for him.
Days later, the courtyard was alive with festive music and vibrant silks, but Kalim stood frozen, staring down at the official royal wedding invitation in total disbelief.
He read the names stamped by the Sultan's court once, then twice, his mind scrambling to make sense of the written words. For years, he had watched Minajael break himself to win his family's blessing to marry the man from another world. Minajael was supposed to marry Yuu.
So why did the invitation say that Jamil was the groom?
The pieces of the past few weeks suddenly fell into place, the sudden whispers, the closed door meetings between Jamil and the Sultan, and Minajael's sudden disappearance. Jamil hadn't been helping Minajael at all. He had stolen the blessing, the man Minajael loved, and the life another had sacrificed everything to win.
Dropping the invitation, Kalim bolted towards the palace throne room, desperate for answers.
Kalim bursts into the throne room, looking at the Sultan with confusion and disbelief "Your Majesty! Why is Jamil marrying Yuu? Where is Minajael?!"
The Sultan looked down at Kalim before speaking coldly. "Minajael's name is no longer spoken in these halls. The wedding proceeds by royal decree."
"He's your son!" Kalim argued, stepping forward to defend his cousin. "What did you do to him? Where is he?"
"He has been sent to the underground dungeon." The Sultan declared coldly. "He will remain in the dark while Jamil takes his place at Yuu's side."
Horror washed over Kalim. The underground dungeon was a place where traitors were sent to be forgotten. Realizing the wedding was a total sham, Kalim immediately bolted out of the room, determined to save his cousin.
Kalim slipped into the damp, dark underground dungeon, his heart pounding until he finally found Minajael's cell. Slouched against the stone wall, stripped of his titles and wearing the heavy, magic binding cuffs, the former prince looked entirely broken.
"Mina-nii!" Kalim exclaimed, rushing to Minajael.
Minajael raised his head, his eyes hollow. "Kalim? You shouldn't be here. If my father finds out-"
"I don't care about that!" Kalim interrupted, his voice tight with urgency. "Mina-nii, you have to listen to me. The wedding isn't canceled. They're forcing it through right now... but it's Jamil. Jamil is the one marrying Yuu."
Minajael froze, the words striking him like physical blows. "What? No... that makes no sense. Why would Father suddenly banish me just to let Jamil take my place? And Yuu... Yuu loves me. He would never agree to this."
He stared at the floor, his mind racing through the unusual events of the past few weeks. The sudden, eerie compliance of his father. The strange, fragile smiles of the palace staff. And Jamil, standing smugly beside the throne, pulling the strings of a nightmare that shouldn't be possible.
Suddenly, everything clicked in his head
"Snake Whisper.." Minajael whispered, his breath catching in his throat.
Kalim blinked. The name of Jamil's Unique Magic hung in the air. For a second, Kalim looked blank. Then the color drained from his face. His eyes widened as the realization hit.
"Snake Whisper..?" Kalim repeated, cold sweat breaking out as he remembers Jamil's Unique Magic. "The blank stares. The way everyone agreed to everything Jamil said without question.. Mina-nii, so that's why the head designer was shaking.. It's because Jamil used his magic on him."
"He didn't convince my father, Kalim. He hypnotized him." Minajael said, anger replacing his shock. "He had been manipulating the court from the start. Their blessings, the behavior of the servants. They're all under his control. And Yuu. Yuu isn't marrying him willingly. Jamil has him under the spell too."
Kalim clenched his fists. Tears of betrayal pricked his eyes. Jamil had used his power to steal everything.
"I can't believe he did this." Kalim said, his voice hardening. "We can't let him get away with it. I am getting you out of here, Mina-nii. We are going to break those cuffs, get your magic back, and stop this wedding together."
Now Playing: This Day Aria by My Little Pony
Jamil stood before the tall mirror in the dressing quarters, smoothing his wedding tunic that should have belonged to Minajael. For a man who had spent his entire life in the shadow of the Asims, catering to Kalim's whims and bowing to those who viewed him as a mere servant, this moment was the everything he had ever dreamed of.
He looked out the window at the palace courtyard, where the nobles were gathering in their finest attire.
"This day is going to be perfect." Jamil murmured to his reflection, a cold smile forming in his lips. "The kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small."
The memory of their teenage years flashed in his mind. He had held a quiet crush on Yuu back then, watching from the sidelines as a mere attendant. But before Jamil could ever act on his feelings, Minajael had stepped in, effortlessly snatching Yuu away from him.
Now, the tables had turned. It was never just about reclaiming the person Jamil loved. Securing this marriage was the ultimate key. By controlling the Sultan and using the power of the Royal family, Jamil would finally overthrow the Asim family from the inside out, crushing those who had kept him in their chains.
"Everybody will gather 'round, say I look lovely in my gown" He continued, adjusting his collar.
They would all look at him in his wedding attire, shower him with praises and congratulatory words, completely blind to the strings he pulled. The Snake Whisper had the entire palace under his control, keeping every guard, servant, and noble a prisoner in their own minds. Every single person waiting in the grand pavilion was walking directly into his trap, ready to celebrate a victory they thought was their own. "What they don't know is that I have fooled them all."
The ceremonial bells began to ring in the distance, echoing across the desert sands. He smiled at his reflection, knowing that within the hour, both Yuu and the realm would finally belong to him
Minajael stared at the cuffs binding his wrists. He knew how to deactivate it from his studies, but the metal was too heavy for his weakened state, making it impossible to do alone.
"Mina-nii." Kalim whispered, pressing his hands against the heavy metal bands. "How do we get these off?"
Minajael simply pointed to a small seam on the side of the metal and nodded, gesturing for Kalim to press his weight and magic into that single weak point.
Kalim found the spot and focused his energy, pushing with all his might. With a loud crack, the internal gears fractured and the heavy bands clattered to the floor. A violent surge of raw magical energy rushed back into Minajael's veins. He gripped the bars, his power fully restored.
"This day was going to be perfect, the kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small." Minajael muttered, his voice tight as Kalim unlocked the cell door.
He remembered the promises he and Yuu had made under the desert stars. He had spent years preparing to take the throne with Yuu by his side, building a future that a traitor was now trying to take.
Growing up, he had always envisioned a wedding built on genuine love and choice. Instead, that dream was being twisted into a tool for Jamil to steal the throne.
"But instead of having cake, with all my friends to celebrate" Minajael said, stepping into the dark corridor.
The thought of the traditional feast filled him with bitter anger. Jamil was preparing to enjoy the spoils of a stolen life, using his unique magic to force compliance from every servant and guard in the palace.
The people who truly cared about them were completely enslaved by the spell. Jamil had isolated Yuu entirely, cutting off any support system so no one could question the sudden change in grooms.
"My wedding bells, they may not ring for me at all." Minajael said as the distant chimes began to echo.
The realization that he might be too late sent a cold dread through his chest, but it only hardened his resolve.
Jamil turned away from the mirror but stayed in the dressing room, listening to the distant sound of bells ringing across the palace grounds. Outside, Yuu was already waiting at the altar, his eyes blank under the heavy influence of Snake Whisper.
Jamil fixed his collar, his mind focused entirely on the boy waiting for him.
"I could care less about the dress, I won't partake in any cake." Jamil said to the empty room, brushing aside the expensive silk garments.
The priest would soon start the ceremony before a silent, compliant crowd. Jamil knew what his responses would be when he finally walked down the aisle.
"Vows? Well I'll be lying if I say that through any kind of weather, I'll want us to be together." Jamil murmured "The truth is I don't care for him at all."
To Jamil, Yuu's independent thoughts, affection, and choices did not matter. He did not see Yuu as someone who could make his own decisions or walk away. His obsession demanded total ownership.
"No, I do not love the groom.." Jamil whispered, his hand resting on the vanity "In my heart, there is no room. But I still want him to be all mine."
Standard affection held no place in his heart, replaced completely by an overwhelming need to possess. For Jamil, this control was the purest form of love. By taking away Yuu's ability to choose, by making Yuu an extension of his own will, he would ensure that Yuu belonged solely to him forever.
The distant sound of the wedding bells grew louder reminding him of the nightmare he's living through.
"We must escape before it's too late" Minajael said, his voice tight with urgency as Kalim pulled open the heavy iron door. "Find a way to save the day."
They hurried into the dark, narrow corridor of the underground dungeon, moving through the shadows to avoid detection and every step away from his cell brought him closer to the pavilion.
"Hope? I'll be lying if I say I don't fear that I may lose him to someone who wants to use him, not care for, love, and cherish him each day.." Minajael muttered, clenching his fists as he pictured Yuu trapped under Jamil's control.
Jamil did not see Yuu as someone to protect, he only viewed him as a prize to secure his own position and power. The thought of Yuu being reduced to a mere tool for someone else's schemes fueled a protective rage inside Minajael.
"For I oh so love the groom, all my thoughts he does consume." Minajael whispered, quickening his pace as they reached the stone stairs leading up toward the palace surface.
Every sacrifice he had made over the years, every argument with his father, and every moment of exhaustion had been for Yuu. He could not let that future be erased by a schemer's spell.
Pushing open the door at the top of the stairs, Minajael looked out toward the bright sunlight of the courtyard.
"Oh, my beloved Yuu, I'll be there very soon!" Minajael said to himself, fixing his gaze on the path toward the pavilion.
Jamil stepped out as the music played, a grand march performed by musicians under his command. He walked down the long, silk lined aisle and every guest turned to him with blank smiles.
"Finally the moment has arrived" Jamil thought, keeping his posture refined and his expression calm. "For me to be one lucky bride."
At the end of the path stood Yuu, dressed in his wedding attire, looking ahead with empty, compliant eyes. Jamil's chest tightened with dark satisfaction. The years spent serving others, being a shadow while the Asims took everything, were officially over.
Deep within the palace corridors, Minajael sprinted toward the exit as wedding music echoed through the palace. The music meant the procession had begun and time was officially running out.
"Oh, the wedding we won't make" Minajael muttered, breath heavy as he pushed past the final set of doors. "He'll end up marrying a fake!"
Yuu stood at the altar with a puppet master who had manipulated the entire court to force an empty union. Minajael refused to let Jamil steal the life they had fought for years to build.
"My dearest Yuu will be...!" Minajael panicked, sprinting faster to try and make it to the wedding
Jamil reached the altar and stood directly in front of Yuu. He reached out, brushing against Yuu's hand.
"Mine, all mine." Jamil chuckled, his eyes locked onto Yuu's vacant gaze.
