Joining a new fandom is wild.jpeg because this fandom has been dead since! Like! 2013! OTL SOB Watched D.N.Angel, read the manga, went looking for fan content, NOTHING, DID ALL D.N.ANGEL FANS LIKE. PERISH WITH MYSPACE. WHATS GOING OOOON. Not to mention I've been hit with the force of like 20 years worth of shipping misery because my favourite just so happens to be RISA HARADA who is DOOMED TO THE PIT, IN TERMS OF ROMANCE?? We have Dark X Risa and Satoshi X Risa (Daisuke X Risa does not exist. In my heart.) and oooooooh boy. (ಡ‸ಡ) I'll be real I've seen hardly any Dark X Risa content so far, despite it being her arguably most canon ship?? We don't talk about the anime situation. What was going on. I much preferred the manga. But I HAVEEE seen a good amount of Satoshi X Risa! Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but it's fineeee, both ships have my heart. Anything for my girl. Be it doomed or the world's least canon hinted rarepair. Is it even a rarepair?? Like when you think about it...In terms of the anime, it's at the very least like, the 5th most popular ship, technically.........Maybe even the fourth....... I haven't looked at DD.N.Angel yet because I'm going back in and rereading the manga first, but I'm super interested..... Anyways. I know I said we don't talk about the anime. BUT I REALLY WANNA TALK ABOUT THE ANIME( : ౦ ‸ ౦ : ) With it being the main way people get into D.N.Angel these days, no wonder the show isn't more popular. Like seriously. It feels....Messy, it feels like it doesn't understand what it wants to be, a monster-of-the-week style shounen with the heists at the centre of things? A goofy comedy? It tries to be sad at times, but personally I found the moments that were intended to be emotional...Really lackluster. They simply didn't linger enough on anything to make you care. It really was hit with the curse of "anime and manga running at the same time" because the anime practically ran off of the rails, hardly sticking to plot points- PLEASE UNDERSTAND HOW INSANE IT WAS!! AS AN ANIME WATCHER FIRST!! TO READ THE MANGA. WHAT DO YOU MEEEEEAN RIKU BECOMES THE LOVE INTEREST QUICKER?? RISA AND DARK ACTUALLY HAVE AN INTERESTING SITUATION?? DARK LIKED RIKU?? HARDLY ANY OF THIS IS PROPERLY DONE IN THE ANIME!! ｡･(>д<) The curses are explained so much better, and I was. Euphoric. Realising Dark's thing with "Risa's grandmother Rika being the only woman he's ever loved!" is just not in the manga at all. The anime MAAADE THAT UP and it was DIRECTLY CONTRADICTORY TO THE PLOT!! Gosh I could. Go on for so long about anime and manga differences. How dirty they did almost everyone, but ESPECIALLY Satoshi appearance wise in the anime, pacing, just general problems with the anime.... This makes it sound like I hated it. I didn't I swear (°□°;) I fell in love with the potential of the series and that's why I read the manga. The anime was ridiculous at times, and I liked it a lot less than other series and the manga itself, but I can't really bring myself to hate it, so I'm left lamenting about how it could've been different instead of how it shouldn't exist at all. I'm very grateful to it for introducing me and probably many others to D.N.Angel as a story (￣▽￣) I'm going to keep searching for fan media. Probably scour fanfic.net as it's an older fandom. Maybe even stare into the depths of deviantart for the first time in years to check for any art.....

I wonder why self love culture for women is often so connected to "traditional female values/roles" (・・ ) ? Is it because we've been brought up thinking of these things as a perfect future? Something that should be our goal?? I see so much self love content that's linked to the goal of being liked by others, or being perceived a certain way. Specifically, there's a lot of content that tells us being soft and not hating is the way to happiness, and although I agree that often times avoiding negative things like hate is good for one's mental state, what about those who have good reason? I can't stop hating those who hurt others, my friends, family, constantly. I know others feel this way too, and it makes me think of the phrase "ignorance is bliss", I think? If you purposefully ignore every bad thing for the sake of your own happiness, you wont be able to defend yourself, but that's what is presented to us as "the way to happiness"?(・・;)ゞ It seems very convenient that our happiness should be "avoid bad things and be soft and pretty, with others always in mind!" while men's self love culture is often centred around getting stronger, working out, getting rich, etc,,,,,, Buuuut I'm no scholar, I took two years of a psychology class in highschool and that's the ONLY credential regarding any of this I'll ever have! I'm just here to thought dump and have fun(´｡• ᵕ •｡`)
