Ray invited all four of the Guardian Goddesses as well as Yuna Kyrielight to Aetheriatower, more specifically his guest room that Historia prepared for him. In there, he led them in and let them take their seats at a table. He had prepared them basic tea and biscuits as he wasn't exactly a talented cook enough to make proper meeting style foods. He wanted them to be transformed so they could take it more seriously.
"We might as well get this meeting out of the way. As you four all know, I am due to be married to Xia soon but... You all would of had a few intimate moments with me as well as uhh... that conversation, you guys had with that weird voice that I dropped in on by accident."
"So I just want to get this out of the way now. I love all five of you. Deeply. I admire your forms, I admire your resolves, I admire your willingness to even put up with me being around and being a bit flirty whilst doing my training. So..."
"I'm just going to come out and say it. I want to marry all five of you. And connect with all of you in a poly relationship, professionally, friendly and intimately."
"Now I know that you all have your own problems at the moment, and that you're worried about fighting over me. But considering the nature of said problems, I want us to be all united over this, and my mind came up with this as our best play. So... Thoughts?"
Around a table sat five luminous beings.
In all honesty, this meeting had been a long time coming; the feelings all five had toward the same person was something that needed to be addressed if Gandstadt as a whole was going to ever continue to have a united future.
So there they sat, all transformed to reflect the seriousness of the topic. It was quite a strange thing for their roles as leaders and nature as women in love to be colliding like this.
But these were very unusual times, and such times always demanded unorthodox measures.
Still, with him flat out confessing his love for all of them, and proposing to wish to marry all five of them was something that had caught them by surprise, if only for a bit.
Never once in Gandstadt's history has there been a scenario where a reigning Goddess of all nations married the same individual. There had simply been no precedent for such to occur.
But again, these were unusual times, and unlike previous eras, perhaps the most unheard of solutions was the correct ones.
"Well..... I guess I should've seen this coming. It makes sense in a way."
"It's completely unprecedented. There has never been any example in our history close to being like this..... but there's no denying our feelings on this."
"This is quite the quagmire. But this also presents an opportunity. We can be fully honest with ourselves and admit our feelings freely. All of us here are in love with Ray, and we are painfully aware of the consequences of what would happen if we let jealousy and possessiveness guide our decisions. So a joined marriage is the best way to ensure unity."
"....Can't argue with ya there. I know the second things go pair-shaped I ain't holding nothing back, so.... yeah. I guess I'd be open to it."
"What about you, Yuna? What do you think about this?"
"Would....Would something like this really work out, though? I mean, it's one thing with me and you, Sis, but... all five of us? Just... sharing him...?"
"I admit, even I don't know if it will work out the way we want in the end, but that aside, we will never truly know unless we try at least. I love Ray, and I would give my life for him, as I am certain you all feel similarly, but I don't want that to ruin the friendship and progress we have all made as Goddesses and as people. So if there was a path to ensure where everyone gets the happy result they want, I'd like to take it, even if it means a future where all of us are 'co-wives' of the same man."
Xia had to admit that this line of thinking may have been influenced by a certain someone who was currently in Japan, the idea of finding a path to ensure everyone was happy in the end, but that was really how she felt.
She loved him, just as they loved him.
She also valued the friendship and progress that they have and has made since coming together.
She did not want either to suffer because of the other.
So, practically speaking, a joint marriage was the best way to go about this.
Ray was right when he said all of them did have their issues and circumstances; they certainly did, and the idea of sharing the same person with five different people was alien to most of them, but even so.....
It may be more beneficial in the long run to explore such a path.
As Veridia said, they would have the opportunity to be honest with themselves and with their feelings toward him. It would increase the chances of remaining united so they can face the growing challenges of the world together, as a powerful union of Goddesses.
And in such a union, a brighter future could be forged.
So after some careful consideration, a decision would be reached among them.
"If that's what you think.... then I guess there's no harm in trying."
