Twilight's the one who tucks Anya into bed at night and the one who wakes her up in the morning.

I like to think it's because he knows he doesn't get to spend as much time with his daughter as he would like to. But he can be the first person she sees when she gets up in the morning, and the last person she sees when she goes to sleep. It also means his day can be bookended by Anya.

I love this small moment in the anime, possible in this medium but not manga.

It's from Nightfall's POV. She sees the fake smile - Twilight's eyes narrow when he goes into Spy Mode (TM) - but then... something unexpected happens. His eyes widen, he relaxes and he fidgets with his hands. This is someone else, someone who is allowing himself to be happy, someone who has put down the discipline of a spy, someone who Nightfall does not recognize.

When Twilight realizes he's not just fighting for a world where children don't need to cry, but much more so, fighting for the life where he gets to see his daughter smile - that is when the dam will finally break.

Because he'd realize Anya smiles because of him, because of Yor and because of Bond. How can he possibly leave?

THIS IS BECAUSE THE OP IS LARGELY SHOT FROM LOID'S POV

Notice in most of the scenes he's in, he's walking behind or towards everyone else

And in the scenes he's missing from, the in frame characters are looking backwards to the camera

Or the perspective is shot from above or at eye level, because he's looking down on Anya or crouching to meet her:

ALSO, if you really want to cry, the song is called "Souvenir" so Loid is literally saving these color-filled memories as souvenirs for when his mission is done and he needs to leave 😢😢😢
