The ref had just called halftime, and, rather than following his team into the locker room where they'd inevitably be strategizing—Aomine searched for you. "Hey," He said with a bright grin when he spotted you outside on the bench near the locker room where you usually met, "Did you see that lead we got? And they were so sure they were gonna take me down; you should've heard the trash talk." Aomine snorted, taking a spot next to you. You threw a towel over his navy blue hair and pulled his water bottle and a container full of lemon slices and honey out of your bag nudging his side playfully with your elbow as you handed them to him. "Lemme guess, you responded with that 'Nobody can beat me but me' line"? You mocked in a deep tone, reaching up to rub the towel down his neck, and around his shoulders. Aomine rolled his eyes, shoving a lemon into his mouth, "Ha ha, you're real funny, aren't you? But you know I'm not like that anymore." He mumbled as he chewed, nudging you right back. You laughed, continuing to dry the beads of sweat off of him, focusing on his head and hair. You froze when Aomine's massive hand wrapped around your wrist, moving the towel to expose the intense expression he had. Dark blue eyes flashing with a strange softness. "Dai—" You were quickly cut off, his forehead resting on yours, his hot breath fanning your face and his fingers tangled into your hair—his large thumb tracing your cheekbone. "What are you doing, Daiki?" You asked, your breath hitched. He hummed, "Recharging." he said so simply, his voice husky and quiet. His eyes were closed, and that sweet, soft half-grin you loved so much formed on his lips. You weren't even sure how long you guys stayed like that, the moment broken when Imayoshi told Aomine it was time to get back out there. Aomine sighed, pulling away from you with a new sense of vigor and confidence. "Watch me kick their asses babe. I'm gonna win this game for you, I promise." He winked, running back out to the court.
