Sense the Call

What a great time at Cattaraugus Christian Family Camp this year! We are so thankful for the opportunity to lead the folks there in praise and worship from July 15th-23rd, and we can’t wait to return! 

The Holy Spirit was the focus throughout the week, how we must pursue him with shameless audacity, like that of Moses in Exodus when he said to God, “show me Your Glory”. It was such an inspiring week to be a part of this camp and hear from pastor Jeremy Kelly from Pearce Memorial Church in Rochester, NY. If you haven’t checked out Cattaraugus camp before, be sure to check it out next year. 

NEW COVER! A beautiful song from Tenth Avenue North, “I Have This Hope”. Through the good times and through the trials in life, we have hope in the grace, love, and mercy of our God! He will never leave us or forsake us, and He will also protect provide when we seek His will and do His work.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We have a really cool attic three stories up where we live, but it's freezing cold up there! We decided to record this song super fast before our fingers froze entirely, and we hope you enjoy it!!

We are so thankful for God's grace, shown perfectly in the gift of Jesus and what he means in each of our lives. Because of His blood, which covers all our sin, we are able to come to God, be seated at His table, and enjoy His presence in our lives.

For those who aren't yet aware, we have decided to pursue an additional outreach opportunity to our music. Next monday, seven days from today, we are opening the doors to our very own coffee shop! We are sourcing fair trade coffee and roasting everything right in the shop.

Our goal is to not only continue our music ministry, but to be able to use this coffee shop to reach people that may not be reached through our music or a church service. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to as man people as possible, and this is one way we think we can do that.

Please pray for us as we start this up and continue to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit.

For those who haven’t yet heard, we are recoding worship songs throughout the fall this year! They are cover songs, meaning they are not our own, but they are some of our favorites and we are now tow songs into it. These are all live takes from right here in our home.

Planning our summer tour was a fairly huge job. Okay, it wasn’t “fairly huge”, it was just huge. Like, the planning was harder than the part where we actually went out and lived in our motorhome for three months and traveled 4,000 miles. That part was easy because we got to visit family & friends, meet a bunch of new people, see lots of incredible places, and play our music! Now that we’re home we can look back and truly say we had a blast, learned a lot, and we really believe we were given some great opportunities to minister to those we met.

It took us over a year to plan eight weeks of traveling. In that year we sent well over 100 emails, made dozens of phone calls, and spent way too many hours on google maps. As stated previously, it was a huge job. It was even a bit discouraging at first, not getting responses like we had dreamed of getting from these various churches and venues. It wasn’t really until Spring, 2015, when things really started to come together. It was when we started to really pray for each specific email that we sent out, that’s when things started to turn around.

In the end, we were able to book nearly 30 events as far west as Kansas, and as far east as New York. We visited places we’ve been previously and stopped at places we had never been before. We had opportunities to pray with people for healing and restoration, we made friends with folks from all walks of life, and we got to see how different churches, camps, and community ministries are working hard at being the hands and feet of Jesus. We are truly grateful to get to be a part of that with everyone we came in contact with.

As many already know, “Sense the Call” comes from our calling into ministry, using our music to reach those around us. That’s what we did this summer, and we had an absolute blast. God led us and continues to lead us in directions we know would not be possible on our own. People approached us and confirmed our work in ways that we did not expect. There is truly nothing greater than someone coming to us and explaining how our music was able to speak to them, and then talk with them, pray with them, and continue contact through whatever means possible. That is exactly why we do what we do.

Thank you all for following us and supporting us throughout our summer. This was our first tour, and by the grace of God and through His leading, it won’t be our last!

Here we are, it’s July 20, 2015, and we are ready for the second leg of this Summer Tour. You know, it’s funny, because we never named this tour. All the cool bands do it, but we’ve just been like “follow us as we travel and come to a show!”. You know what, that’s alright. Maybe next time we’ll be a bit cooler with it. 

So tomorrow we head out on the road and we are SUPER PUMPED. We are traveling 700 miles to Pleasantville, PA, for a nine-day camp experience with a group of churches from the Northeast. We are honored to be able to lead worship there. After that we travel throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and everywhere from there to Illinois where we live. 

God has blessed us with safe travels, bearable weather, and opportunities to make many new friends. We are truly experiencing the love of God as He works through us in this journey. Please continue to pray for us as we venture out and share God’s love with more people!

Good morning!

As many of you know, we are headed out to tour the midwest and northeast this summer. We are leaving today, and will be driving, performing, worshipping, and boondocking from now through the end of August. We are super excited to play this music and share our album with so many people this summer!

If you haven’t had a chance or just weren’t aware of it, we have a schedule up where we keep it updated as soon as something is booked. You can check it out on our website, www.sensethecall.com ... more dates are still being added!

If we are coming to an area near you, we would absolutely love to see you! Many of you we already have a personal relationship with, but if you are someone we have not personally met yet, let’s meet! Come out for music, usually coffee involved, and just a great time of fellowship.

We have our four month old son, Leonard, with us, our cat, and our fish, so please keep safety, wisdom, and fair travels for us in your prayers. We serve an awesome God, and we are so excited to be able to worship him through music this entire summer. Praise be to God!

Have you ever heard someone say "I'm only human". Have you said it yourself? I know I have.

The song "Here Is My Heart" is a sort of reflection on this thought.

Only Human? No, we are called to be much more than that. Upon creation, humans were given a command by God to have dominion over the earth. Are we really "only human"? I don't think we give God much credit when we say "I'm only human". We need to strive to be fully human in the way God designed us! His intention for us was perfection, and it was sin that led us away from that. We are stained with sin of all kinds, but that doesn't mean we cannot live out God's intentions, because we have been shown grace. We are forgiven time and time again, before we even fall, so that we, humans, can remain in a growing relationship with God.

It's time to reclaim what it means to be fully human and follow after God's call for our lives. The world has a definition of humanity, but it's not true humanity, the constant longing for a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. Humans are made in His image, with a very intentional purpose: to love us.
