dropping off the face of the planet was something taylor was probably a touch too good at. for her there was a peace to being able to disappear from the public eye and not have anyone have a clue what you are doing, where you are, or what could or could not be happening. Sure there was speculation, there was always that. The reason she wasn't popping up was because of "this" or "that" but that was always more fun for her to be updated on from tree. during this time she'd admit she wasn't as great spending time with her friends, so after boarding her private jet she made her way towards los angeles where selena resided.

Selena knew those moments, especially after a tour, or any other big project where you just wanted to hide away from everybody. She usually didn't do that for long, or really knew how to do it best but she was aware Taylor had mastered the skill of disappearing. So she wasn't entirely worried when she didn't hear from her for a little bit, and just reached out occasionally. Those times that they each needed had never done any harm to their friendship nor would they ever let it get to that either.

i know so many love los angeles but to me there's something about new york city that's special to me. I feel like the fans are better about giving us space when we're out and about, giving that sense of privacy. I just wish the media knew how to do that especially when i'm out with my kids but at least they keep their distance. if you had to choose between new york or los angeles, what's your favorite? /@prestigeprstarters

Oh I absolutely get what you're talking about. It feels like you can just move around a little more freely in the city. But I'm such a California girl now. I spend a lot of time in New York because we're filming OMITB there, but whenever I get the chance, I go home to LA. Have you ever considered moving somewhere totally different?

know a lot of people keep pictures through the years, i have a ton of pictures stored away but i don't know if i'll be looking through them anytime soon. think the only ones i keep out now are the ones with my daughter in them. how old is gracie now? oh still have photos of me tucked in there do you? would have thought those got the boot and didn't make the cut to keep. well, she's not wrong, my eyes are very pretty, but tell her i appreciate all the 900 compliments i didn't know i needed.

See that makes so much sense. I don't usually get these pictures out to look at, but apparently when you're 11, you just want to know and see and look into everything. Can you believe she's eleven? we've been friends forever and a day, and i intend our lives to be like that until the day we die, even into the afterlife actually. you're stuck with me, babe. learn to live with it. but i can't help that i'm so good at disappearing, the peace and quiet is wonderful. i highly recommend you try it sometime, just fall off the face of the planet, tell no one, and the peace it brings. or you can come fall off the planet with me?

Falling down random rabbit holes is the best thing sometimes. You never know where you're going to end up or what random facts you're going to learn. I never knew that about the toast, but it's interesting to hear where it derived from. It's so interesting, isn't it? Does not taste good though, I can't recommend trying it. But yes, that's what random rabbit holes do and it's a fun way to spend some time when you end up with a little too much, or you can't sleep when you're supposed to. I think I heard that before! I don't know what kind of drugs you put in your music to make it to addictive and catchy. Because I've had a mixture of Bluest Flame and Sunset Boulevard stuck in my head for weeks on end now. But really, I can't say enough good things about your album, Sel. @selmariegomez

People have told me it's the way I sing things softly? They call it whisper pop, maybe it's that? Honestly, no drugs involved in any of the music making. I can teach you how to do that, I'm pretty sure everyone's going to love you doing it.

I finally have about a month off from touring before the next wave of festivals kicks in and I feel like now is the perfect time to plan a tropical vacation. Somewhere warm, vibrant, and peaceful all at once. My first choice is heading to the Philippines, since it gives me an excuse to dive deeper into the culture and roots of where my family comes from. Plus the beaches there are gorgeous and your girl isn't going to say no to lounging on a beach with a cocktail in my hand all day. Beach vacations are a lot of fun, I absolutely agree. It's great to get out there and just enjoy the sun, the sea and all of that. I think over the years I've opted to go on yachts instead though, because it let's you be a little more flexible about your location but also gives you a tad more privacy.
