the more you realize social media only portrays a fraction of someone’s personhood the less you idolize and assume

I love this generation so much we went through shit like drug scares and eating disorders and being punks and emos and self harmers and depressed and suicidal and now now now you start to see all these flower crowns and pastels and it’s like we’re all slowly slowly healing and growing up and it’s s obeautiful we’re all taking selfies and coming into our own and we’re all scared but we’re all here for each other and we’re unlearning inter-community hate and we’re all just such nice girls and boys and everything else we’re stars and flowers and fae and sunshine and we care about the world and we are just s obeautiful and powerful and new

ok holy shit

don’t trust people who don’t support you as you try to grow into a more mature and self-realized person. don’t confide in people who aren’t as interested in your triumphs as they are in your downfalls.

i think the weirdest thing is having left over information about someone. like i still know someone’s favorite girl name. or their favorite season. or someone’s address. i remember someone’s favorite ice cream flavors. and someone’s favorite childhood book. and the mental disorder their uncle has. i remember the ages and birthdays of their siblings. i remember the song they said they’d sing to their spouse. where do i put this down? where do i learn to forget?
