Lunaris was reading an issue of Vanity Fair in his 1999 Buick Park Avenue while waiting for his lover Gavin to finish his appointment at the clinic. Gavin had been feeling off recently - nauseous, fatigued, with bad smell sensitivity, and uncontrollable mood swings. Lunaris knew that Gavin had been struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder during the Winter months, but Spring had come now and Lunaris struggled to identify a cause for this sudden change in behaviour. So they had both agreed to drive up to the local walk-in clinic to figure out what was going on. Lunaris decided to wait in the car after Gavin went in, so that he could read his favorite fashion magazine, Vanity Fair. 25 minutes had passed, and he could feel his patience waning. 

“He should have been out by now if it was just a cold…” Lunaris muttered. Earth health was still new to the Moonlander, but he had done a plethora of research as part of his commitment to his fiance. He put in a CD of Duran Duran’s “Rio” in the Buick’s CD Player, and tried to hum along in some sort of attempt to pass the time. Seconds ticked by, then minutes, and Lunaris had run out of pages in his magazine. He was considering going into the clinic himself, when suddenly the glass door swung open - Lo and behold, it was Gavin Tenderfeet himself. He looked excited, but nervous at the same time, he was smiling quite apprehensively for the usually-lax fellow that he was. Lunaris rolled down his window. Before he could lean out to address Gavin, Gavin had already made his way around the car to the door and was getting into the shotgun seat beside him. “What took so long?” asked Lunaris - not in an angry way, but with the concern of a tender lover. Gavin grinned as he put on his seatbelt.

“I’ll tell you when you get home - trust me, you’re going to want to drive home first.”

Lunaris was a little nervous at that, but brushed it off. Gavin didn’t look upset, so he decided it was not worth worrying about until later. They drove home singing along to Duran Duran, and enjoying a car ride that was overshadowed by hidden nervousness & excitement in the back of both of their minds. After about 20 minutes, and only one red light that Lunaris accidentally ran, they got home, and he pulled into the gravelly driveway of their suburban house. As they hopped out of the car and Lunaris locked it, he turned to Gavin. “Now will you tell me what’s going on?” He pleaded. Gavin steadied himself, taking a deep breath as he opened their front door. After they had both come into the house, Gavin took Lunaris’ hands in his own and squeezed them once - but didn’t let go. Looking into his favorite person’s beautiful, mysterious eyes, Gavin grinned with tears in his very own eyes.
