(crystal celadon)
a yoonjin story | 3.1K written for lou - happy birthday ilysm
Yoongi slowly opens his eyes to a world of glittering celadon and his face staring back at him. He frowns and his reflection frowns back. He takes a step back and his reflection does too, then surges forward and shatters as Yoongi shoots his hand out. Shards of glass rain down in front of him, and Yoongi finds himself stepping into another mirrored room.
His reflection reappears as he approaches another celadon barrier. He shatters it again, and again, breaking through endless crystal walls until his knuckles are littered with cuts and blood starts to coat his fingers.
A loud bang cuts through the silence as he raises his hand to break through another celadon wall. Yoongi pauses, then turns back to the crystal wall and prepares to break through again. Another loud bang, then—

Scenes to Write When Your Draft Feels Flat
Not epic or climactic. Just... alive.
• A character almost admits they were wrong and then pivots • Two people sitting in a car after an argument, engine off, neither leaving • Someone practicing a speech in the mirror and hating how it sounds • A character lying for someone they resent • An inside joke that no longer feels funny • A public setting where private tension is simmering • Someone seeing their ex unexpectedly and performing indifference • A character giving advice they absolutely do not follow • A confession interrupted by something mundane • A person rereading old messages they shouldn’t • A gift that misses the mark completely • A character realizing they’ve outgrown someone mid-conversation • Someone saying “It’s fine” and meaning “I will remember this forever” • A moment where a character notices they are no longer the favorite • Two people who used to be close struggling to find a topic
If your story feels stuck, it likely needs friction. Not explosions. Just a little pressure.
i do not “delete sentences” when they start “hindering the plot” i COPY PASTE THEM into a SEPARATE DOC made just for keeping all my USELESS LINES that i will also NEVER USE so therefore i should JUST DELETE THEM but i DONT because id FEEL BAD if i did
You don't actually have to kill your darlings. You can just put them in the oubliette #myoubliette
the number 1 rule of fanfic is have fun and be yourself. the number 2 rule is the average healthy adult male can lose roughly 2 liters of blood before dying.

🍯Mindscape Monday🍯
This week's mindscape was created by sentinel poe!
This explicit story has a rich rum & bitter almond scent.
Explore Galactic Requiem.
Purple prose isn't the enemy boring prose is. yeah you can overwrite but you can also underwrite until everything feels flat. use weird words sometimes. get poetic about the wrong things. spend a whole paragraph on how light hits a window if it matters to the moment. literary fiction gets to be flowery why can't you? find your own level of extra. some readers want lean and punchy. some want lush and dense. write sentences that feel good in your mouth when you read them out loud. if it sounds like YOU that's style baby.
Guys what if there was a character
…and what if we hurt the character🤔
Tips for Writing Injuries! (AGAIN)
Your action hero just got shot in the shoulder, stitched it up in a motel bathroom, and is now running through a forest. I need you to know that a shoulder wound severs muscle, nerves, and sometimes bone, and the human body's response to that is not "mild wincing followed by full range of motion." here is what injuries actually do to peoplee...
⊹ Adrenaline is REAL and it does allow people to do extraordinary things immediately after injury, BUT it is a loan, not a gift. you borrow the function and you pay it back later with interest. Your character might genuinely be able to run for twenty minutes after being stabbed. and then the adrenaline drops and everything the body was delaying arrives all at once. the collapse is NOT weakness. it's biology collecting its debt. write the debt collection. it's more interesting than the heroic sprint anyway.
⊹ Blood loss changes cognition before it drops you. you don't go from "fine" to "unconscious." you go through a whole middle stage of confusion, poor decision-making, emotional dysregulation, a strange calm, tunnel vision, difficulty forming sentences. Your injured character making a bad call, saying something they normally wouldn't, becoming suddenly and inexplicably gentle--that's blood loss. use the middle stage. it's dramatically rich and almost nobody writes it.
⊹ Recovery has a timeline and the timeline is long and boring and inconvenient to plot. a broken rib takes six weeks and during those six weeks sneezing is a genuine emergency. a concussion means no screens, no reading, no bright lights, and symptoms can persist for months. a stab wound to the abdomen means weeks of infection risk, limited mobility, and a specific kind of exhaustion that has nothing to do with sleep. Your character being sidelined and frustrated and useless for a long time is not a narrative problem. it's the story.
⊹ Pain also affects personality in ways writers skip. chronic pain makes people short-tempered and then guilty about being short-tempered. it makes concentration difficult. it makes intimacy complicated, both emotional and physical. a character who was patient and warm before their injury and is now snappy and withdrawn is not a character regression. they're in pain. pain is exhausting in ways that don't show on the outside. the people around them noticing and not knowing how to help is a whole story in itself.

Writers have two modes and they are "i haven't written in three weeks and i am rotting from the inside and everything feels wrong and i don't know who i am anymore" and "i wrote for four hours straight and forgot to eat and it's dark outside and when did that happen and i feel like a god" and there is nothing in between. no chill. no medium setting. just famine or feast and a very confused nervous system.
just wanna say i am a big fan of this trope specifically

yoonmin 3k, rated T, complete sci-fi au explorer!yoongi + radio operator!jimin post-apocalypse, relationship negotiation, hope and healing Scouring the post-apocalyptic wasteland for signs of life is a thankless task even on the best of days. Scouring the post-apocalyptic wasteland with Jimin's voice in his ear right after their biggest fight yet kinda makes the end of the fucking world look pleasant in comparison.
Yoongi is perched up on a rise, stopped for water and a heading check, when he spies the dust cloud blooming in the distance. He fumbles for his binoculars but only catches the rear bumper of a sun-baked skiff before the craft sweeps around the mountains and out of sight, leaving dust sifting down in its wake. He lowers the binoculars and taps the comm in his ear.
“Scout Min, Sector B approach,” he calls in. “Comms check. Over.”
It’s a minute before the comm chirps in response. The voice on the other end is as familiar as it is unexpected.
“Tower reads. Signal is good.”

Writing prompt? No. Writing much delayed.
writers really will spend twenty minutes pacing around the kitchen thinking “this scene is genius” and then sit down to type and suddenly remember approximately three words and one emotional vibe
