“noona you’re here.” he greets with a wide smile as soon as he opens and confirms she truly is the one at his door. it had already been two whole years since they’d last seen each other in person and part of him still felt it somewhat surreal that he was finally seeing her again. “come in. i was just looking for something and i lost track of time.” he explains ushering her inside without a single drop of self awareness to just how messy his place was. “i’ll get my coat.” and with that he was excitedly rushing to where his coat rested on the back of a chair in his kitchen. the place so small that he’d surely never really left her view. “woah seeing you. makes all of this seem just a little more real.” he admits as he’s walking back towards her whilst slipping into his coat. then a thought crosses his mind and he was suddenly laughing at his own joke before he’d even said it. “or am i just dreaming of you?”

—𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 as he listens to the other finally speak. he’s unsure why, at first, then it hit’s him that there’s just something different today about the others tone and demeanour that had his body reacting of it’s own accord. he wasn’t even sure himself what had come over him to start questioning minjun so vehemently. something about seeing him enter the house with that much blood; it didn’t sit right with him. in fact, it raised countless questions that he couldn’t for the life of himself find a logical explanation for. but once daeyoung saw the knife, the other was seemingly wielding, suddenly all questions vanished from his mind and he found himself, instead, hyper focused on the object. “i just..” he starts, his voice holding much less confidence and insistence then it had just moments prior as he instinctively took a step back. “i don’t get why you would wait to wash your hands at home.” the moment their eye’s met the intensity of it left him wanting to look away and yet he found himself unable to; almost as if paralyzed by them. only then did he notice his hands trembling perhaps only slightly but, surely, still visible to an observant individual. “i’m sorry, okay? can you please just put that knife down. you’re scaring me.” he wanted answers and couldn’t help his gut feeling that there was something more to the story but, in that moment, his instincts were clearly warning him to drop it.

—𝐭𝐚𝐞𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 as he quietly waits for her to settle into the car. truth be told there were worse jobs out there then to be looking after serah and he was somewhat grateful he had been assigned to do this rather then a stake out that would probably last hours and end up being a fruitless waste of time. in fact, having known her for quite some time he rather enjoyed her company so it was a win all around. taeyang nodded as she spoke of possibly going to the gym. killing two birds with one stone, he loved that idea. “that works for me i don’t think there was anything specific planned. i just need to keep an eye on you so anything is fine.” he said with a chuckle. pulling away from the curb, he promptly starts the drive in the direction of her house. “guess i should be thanking you since i won’t have to go to the gym after work.” he jokes as he’s driving. “how was uni? anything interesting happen?”

—𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 as he sat in front of the vanity style mirror quietly watching as his makeup was getting done for his stage. it’s not like anne had never seen this side of him. she’d surely witnessed his more cold and distant persona when he’d interacted with others in her vicinity. but, having worked with her since debut, although he may have been a little cautious around her in the beginning he couldn’t recall ever being so cold and distant with her; until now. after telling her, in confidence, that he had been seeing someone somehow the news came out in the tabloids and he couldn’t help but feel betrayed by someone he’d viewed as trustworthy. as if his demeanour wasn’t enough, he perhaps childishly decided upon sending a passive aggressive remark her way. “funny how i tell you something in confidence and two days later it’s all over gossip blogs.”

—“𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.” woojin joked after cracking up at the others words; promptly following leon’s lead as they entered the room. the mere mention of venues causing confusion to invade every aspect of his features and he gives a shrug. “you got me there, i don’t know anything about weddings. i don’t think i’ve ever even gone to one.” he admitted as he watched the other take a seat. “aren’t there people you can hire to take care of all that planning stuff?” when leon motions for him to sit down with that teasing remark he simply chuckles as he’s taking his seat. “too bad there aren’t any camera’s around to capture us getting so cosy, huh?” he teases right back with a smile. “maybe then people wouldn’t be so quick to say us being together is just a publicity stunt.”

—𝐭𝐚𝐞𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 as the other rightfully continued to question him. his initial anger quickly morphing to sorrow, especially when he sees the tear stained face of his lover; possibly the one and only person in his life right now whom he actually cared about. “it’s not that simple.” he wished it was. he wished he could just divulge everything he’d been holding back thus far, what a weight off his shoulders that would be, but what one didn’t know couldn’t hurt them, right? that’s what he’d been telling himself this whole time he’d been purposefully neglecting to tell jaeson everything. “it’ll just hurt you more to know the truth.” he answered rather cryptically. he knew, however, that realistically that answer wouldn’t be enough. that, if nothing else, it would just be even more frustrating for the other so with a defeated sigh he continues. “my parents found out about you.” he finally explains pausing briefly to watch for the others reaction. “and they threatened to make your life hell if i didn’t agree to this wedding.” he approaches almost cautiously as he explains, instinctually seeking to comfort his obviously upset partner. once he’s close enough to touch him, however, he finds himself unsure if he’s the right person to comfort him in that instant. after all he was arguably the source of the others pain. “i couldn’t let them do that to you.” he almost whispers this time, fingers finally daring to touch the others shoulder gently. “so i agreed to do it.”

—𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 he was was being sincere and, yet, eyes still search the others for any sign of jest. when she finds none, coy smile graces her lips and she turns her gaze away from him; instead looking out to where the reflection of the moon decorated the water so beautifully. she’d been complimented for her beauty countless times and she could think of only a handful of times the compliment had sent little butterflies fluttering through her stomach. she could now count tonight as one of them. “like me? that’s no good now is it?” light laughter fills the silence briefly before she continues, finally bringing her gaze back to his. “that’s the first step to falling in love.” she paused cocking her head to one side giving a teasing smile. “what would we do if that happened?”

—𝐡𝐞’𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 around the local college campus for hours at this point; taking various pictures in various locations. now, as he sits on the steps contemplating what other pictures he wanted to take, he spots who he assumes to be a student. he regards them with a cat-like curiosity thinking to himself with a subconscious little nod ‘totally my type’. not that it much mattered because he wasn’t really the dating type. he got bored way too easily and he wasn’t all that great about keeping steady contact with someone. disappearing for days on end was more his thing. but, just as he was about to get up and call it a day, a sudden thought stopped him dead in his tracks. yes, a fake college romance. it was foolproof. “hey” he greeted as he approached; his voice the most comical attempt at a seductive tone. “wanna pretend date me?” he wiggles his eyebrows, again in a somewhat exaggerated and definitely comical manner. it was a ridiculous offer and he treated it as such besides he’d never been one to take himself too seriously. “i mean just for the day or whatever.” he clarifies with a nonchalant swish of his hand as if to indicate it wasn’t a big deal  “i just need a few ‘lovey-dovey’ looking pictures, that’s all.” he paused, pondering for a moment on whether or not he should sweeten the deal, then he shrugged. “ I could pay you.”

—𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 and always would be people who doubted the legitimacy of their relationship, lately the speculations seemed to be increasing. countless social media posts, over analyzing every look, every touch; everything they did or didn’t do while in the same room. when the reporter asked what their future plans were he figured it was the perfect opportunity to put the general publics doubts at bay; at least for now. now that the other questioned him about it, however, he realized how slightly foolish his impulsive decision had been. not that he would ever admit that. “i did what i had to. you should be thanking me.” he said casually and accompanied by a nonchalant shrug. “people are on to us. we need to start stepping up our game if we expect people to believe we’re really a thing.”

as he stood there, feeling both defeated and exhausted, the frustration he’d been holding back all day suddenly started resurfacing. it’s not that he didn’t understand where the other was coming from. he even tried to stifle his anger by reminding himself, over and over in his mind, that jaeson didn’t deserve to have bottled up anger taken out on him. yet, in his state, it felt beyond his control. “what do you want me to say?” his tone is calm at first but quickly growing harsher with every word. “you think i’m happy about this?” he asks his tone borderline venomous now. “i can’t even have a say in how i want to live my own fucking life.” as strong and harsh as his sentence starts his voice cracks at the last word and tears start stinging his eyes. “fuck” he utters turning away from jaeson as he racks both hands through his hair.. he didn’t want to fight. not now. not for something he was still so furious about. otherwise he would surely say something he would later regret. “just- never mind.”

—𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 underneath him is what initially stirs him from sleep. although he could ignore it (as he sometimes did) and let himself fall back into a deep slumber, instead he opens his eyes; silently admiring the other’s back as he got ready to leave. “leaving so soon?” amusement tinged question finally breaks the silence. sitting up, he lazily drags his own body closer to the other sitting on the edge of the bed. his arms wrapping around jitae’s waist and chin resting on his shoulder. “i was hoping we could have breakfast in bed and talk about our feelings.” he teased his voice husky with sleep and highlighted with a low chuckle. “or that you would at least stay for some morning fun.” aiden purred tilting to start pressing lazy kisses to the others neck.

—“𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬..” she states softly, expertly reciting the memorized line. “we fight and we fight. always about the same stupid things. when does it end?” her features contorted into a feigned mixture of frustration and sadness. she waits, expecting the other to read the next line but 1  2  3  4 seconds tick by and she’s forced to break character and look at the other in confusion. “is something wrong? why’d you stop reading?” but they just stood there staring at the pages in front of them. it’s only when she moved to read the script from over their shoulder that she notices the next line was accompanied by what the script called a ‘passionate kiss’. “oh right i mean we can skip tha-” she half spoke half laughed until gaze momentarily lifts from the script and she sees their blush ridden face. “wait- are you blushing? it’s not like it’s anything we haven’t done before.” or had they perhaps forgotten that night they’d drunkenly hooked up? “you.. know that right?

—𝐭𝐚𝐞𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 of the needle poking at his skin and sending waves of dull pain throughout his body. sitting there clearly intoxicated and fighting the urge to fall asleep. he only forced his heavy eyelids open when he heard her voice; a comically large grin appearing out of no where when he spots her. “you were worried about me?” he questions, the tiniest hint of a slur in his speech. he didn’t even pay any mind to the artist, still creating the tattoo he’d requested on his arm. “you have no idea how much it means to me” he paused almost as if trying to string the proper words together through the drunken fog blurring his thoughts. “that you would be worried about me.” he confessed, the alcohol in his system rendering him perhaps a little too truthful. the reality was he’d fought with his father again and this little stunt he was pulling was all an impetuous way of rebelling. “please stay with me.” he reaches for her hand in an attempt to take it in his. his drunk brain so convinced that if he couldn’t hold onto her she would leave him like everybody else did. “i don’t wanna be alone.”

—𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐬 as he hears the wailing of the child and then feels hyewon insisting he take care of it. he’s quick to comply to her demands because he knew how exhausted she was lately and it was the least he could do. “she’s always my kid” he playfully retorts before giving her shoulder a quick kiss over the blanket and dragging himself out of bed. thankfully after a quick diaper change the child was quick to fall back to sleep. and he could crawl back under the covers of their shared bed, sliding in close to hyewon and snaking an arm around her waist. "i’m starting to think maybe i should take some time off work.” he whispers into the darkness regardless of not knowing whether she had fallen back to sleep again or not. “i could help you with the baby a little more.”

—𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 his body reacted of it’s own accord, arms automatically accommodating what was being shoved at him. but, as he slowly realized what was happening, a mischievous smirk grew. truly it was as if the world was mercifully giving him a way out of this stupid business meeting he hadn’t wanted to attend in the first place. it was nothing personal, really, he just figured getting kicked from the place made a great excuse to leave early and do literally anything else. so with eyes locked on the other in unrelenting eye contact, he simply released the briefcase shamelessly letting it tumble to the ground. smug smile ever-present as he arched an eyebrow, clearly challenging inviting the other to get angry. “i’d rather not.” he sneered his eyes still locked in place. perhaps his father wanted them to do business with this place but taekwoon couldn’t care less who they did or didn’t do business with. “but you seem able bodied enough. why don’t you get your own coffee, hotshot.”
