[ zhongli x reader x albedo ]

"Scara!" (name) exclaimed when they noticed a familiar purple hair in the crowd of kids near the entrance. The young man swiftly turned around and noticed (name).

Only able to breathe a sigh of relief, Kunikuzushi hurried over to (name), who instantly embraced him in a hug. Instead of hugging back, Kuni just froze in place and could only delicately pat (name) on the back.

"How are you?" (name) released him, and Scara took a moment to gather himself

Kuni brightened the depressing atmosphere by patting his Snezhnayan uniform and saying, "I'm alright. Did you miss me that much that you had to spread all your germs on me?"

"Ha. Ha. Be thankful I hugged you."

"And be thankful I let you hug me," he said, rolling his eyes at (name).

"Hey," a another voice entered the conversation. It was Zhongli who was trailed by Baizhu, Yanfei, and Shenhe. "Scara, how was your trip? Did it go well?"

"It wasn't that fantastic because my seatmate was awful and didn't even know how to eat with manners, but it was quiet on the way here."

"That's good. Oh, I want you to meet our classmates from Liyue," Zhongli started as he turned around to let the others wave at Scara behind him. "This is Baizhu, he majors in medicine. Shenhe is our classmate. And Yanfei is a highschooler, about the same age as Xiao but smart enough to pass the exchange."

Each Liyuean student bowed formally and smiled brightly as they greeted the Snezhnayan student in front of them. But all Kunikuzushi did was glare at a particular man with green hair who was standing next to Zhongli.

The murderous gaze Scaramouche is currently giving Baizhu made him stutter out a fake smile. "Do you need something, sir?" he asked.

He frowned, "Are you... No... You look like someone."

Baizhu exhaled in relief as he heard this. "Ah, you must be referring to my brother? Yeah, I get that a lot," the man responded.

"Your brother? You mean THE Pant—,"

The speakers outside the school suddenly blared, "Students from each section. Welcome to Cape Oath Campus. Those who are traveling to Dragonspine Campus can proceed to another bus stationed at the parking lot."

(name) turned to Scaramouche to jolt him out of his agitated stupor, "Hey. Your bus is leaving. The Snezhnayan Section is in Dragonspine, and this is the Liyue's Section of the Mondstadt Campus."

"No need," Kuni said as he seized (name)'s wrist and pushed through the throng of students, followed closely by the other Liyue Students.

"A Liyuean Student from earlier asked to switch slots to Dragonspine Campus because a teacher there—who is their parent—begged the Mondstadt Administration for the exchange, and I was chosen because I was the last newcomer in the slot. My name is now on the Liyue List. Be happy you're lucky enough to be studying in this hellhole with me."

"What?" (name)'s eyes widened, letting go of Kunikuzushi's hand. "What about Aunt Ei? Will she be upset?"

"A typical Asian Mom, (name), she doesn't care whatever school she lets us study in. Who cares if she gets mad? Heck, all she needs is for us to study diligently and achieve high grades."

(name) followed Scara into the gymnasium where the other Liyue students are already piling up and could only shrug at what Scara had said.

Of course, all of the pupils were in astonishment and chaos. There are still some situations where you risk being knocked over by a crowd that is moving and being repeatedly trodden on.

Unfortunately, that opportunity presents itself today—the "lucky day".

(name) nearly flew forward into the crowd after a student stepped on the back of their shoes. Zhongli was fortunate to catch their wrist before they might fall and hurt their face.

Zhongli pulled (name) back up and positioned them between him and Baizhu so they couldn't get pushed over again. He then asked, "Any scrapes or injuries?"

After checking their entire body for scratches, (name) humbly replied, "None," their cheeks going red in humiliation.

Before the six of them entered the gymnasium, Zhongli just gave them a nod and a hum of approval.

The gymnasium has been packed with student chairs, and a few students are seated on the stage. Even some of them are smiling and waving at people they know. The others sprinted to greet and embrace the Liyue Students.

The same holds true for Zhongli. He turned to look at the person in front of the podium and spotted Venti. Zhongli nodded in response to Venti's distant wave and grinning smile.

"Let's sit here," Shenhe says nonchalantly after a day of silence. She indicated the six unoccupied seats in the front row. The others could only concur, so they each took a seat.

The upper student council members introduced themselves after everyone had taken their seats in the gymnasium. Starting with their Secretary, Vice President, and President.

Everything was going great, and the anticipation was coursing through (name)'s veins like wildfire. They were ecstatic to begin a new life and home in Mondstadt.

Well. That is, until they spotted a particular person.

They fell silent as if an angel had just passed in front of them. The simple fact that he was there was enough to shut their entire being down, so their excitement was nothing more than a brief feeling that was abruptly torn from their chest.

"Albedo."

"What?"

(name) looked over at the person next to them and noticed Scaramouche with a raised eyebrow. He flashed them an unpleasant sneer and said, "You good? We're not even starting our first week yet, don't back out now."

"Oh my gosh," (name) exclaimed, feeling their chest beat ten times harder as they reached for the nearest thing to hold on to.

It was Zhongli's hand.

Zhongli was startled out of his stupor by (name)'s firm hold on his hand, and he turned to face his best buddy at once. "What's going on? What's wrong? (name)?"

"Nothing. Nothing. Just... Just let me hold your hand for a moment," (name) whispered as their hand grew increasingly tense, which only increased Zhongli's uneasiness.

As they tried to calm themselves down, their hand was shaking, they were breathing hard, and their ears were ringing. "(name), you seem unwell. Are you sure you're okay?"

They merely offered Zhongli a false grin and a nod in an effort to reassure him, but Zhongli's worry persisted. He made a conscious effort to settle their twitching hands by drawing tiny circles in it.

"Please breathe, dear." Zhongli said quietly enough for only the two of them to hear.

(name) did what Zhongli instructed and the two of them performed a brief breathing exercise. "Now, would you please explain me what caused you to become so flustered?"

"Al... Albedo."

"Hmm?"

"Good morning, Liyue Section—" The following speaker's soothing tone drowned out (name)'s words. But it wasn't until Zhongli requested them to repeat it that he received clarification.

"Albedo's the one giving the speech on stage right now."

The handsome brown-haired and amber-eyed friend of (name) looked up to see a blue-eyed and white-haired male giving a motivational and expressive speech in front of them.

Him? He is THE Albedo?

Then Zhongli's gaze shifted to the young student sitting behind Albedo. Venti, the Council's president.

Venti was worriedly peering over to where they were sitting, and when his eyes finally locked with Zhongli, he was able to fully say that Venti knows this was going to happen.

Is this the reason why Venti spoke to him the other day?

Zhongli could only sigh and turn to gaze at the others, who appeared to be paying close attention to what Albedo had to say.

But... A specific purple-haired man appears to be listening in on their talk.

From his sat position with his arms folded, Kunikuzushi asked, "Tell me. Who's that jerk? That Albedo you talk of?" His focus remained on Albedo, and he was hard on his track. If looks could kill, Albedo would have passed away sooner.

"You looked foolish and helpless when you saw him. What happened? Did he do something that traumatized you?"

(name)'s shoulders dipped as Zhongli turned to face Scaramouche, whose face was etched with horror at how (name) had momentarily appeared drained.

"Let's talk after the speech."

[ zhongli x reader x albedo ]

(name) unbuckled their seatbelt from Baizhu's automobile, which the teachers carefully handled, and prepared to get out. "Yes. Just turn right, Baizhu. My cousin should be able to see us."

After traveling from Liyue to Cape Oath, Mondstadt, for 21 hours, they are all already exhausted. Some of them, including Shenhe, passed out in the automobile. Yanfei was tapping away on her phone while Zhongli was quietly absorbing his new surroundings.

"Is it this house?" Baizhu asked, pointing to the Viator-Trix Twins' comfortable, contemporary home. "Looks kind of cool, are you sure your cousin owns this? I don't see any evidence of it in you."

Baizhu received merely a lighthearted glare from (name), who then smacked his arm. "Stop underestimating me; you haven't even visited my house in Inazuma yet. He just got that from my aunt and uncle."

"Come to think of it, you ought to invite us to Inazuma some day. I am cool with asking some of mine and Zhongli's buddies to join us. You know, another squad outing."

Baizhu gave them a tiny chuckle as he was opening his water bottle, and they could only snort in amusement. "Well, where are you guys staying for the exchange?"

Yanfei smiled and put her chin on (name)'s shoulders, "Oh, me and Shenhe rented a spot in the dorms of Cape Oath."

"My brother was stationed here; I'll be bugging him for the duration of my stay," the man next to (name) said as he finished his drink.

(name) chuckled at him, "That's good, a brother bonding time." They are well aware of the lack of good rapport between Baizhu and his sibling and the likelihood of a conflict developing. But you know? They are still siblings at the end of the day.

(name) noticed a flash of blonde hair in their peripheral vision. Aether was there. He appeared to have just woken up from an afternoon nap because he was wearing pajamas and had disheveled hair.

Aether seems displeased to have been awakened from his nap. But when guests are waiting for him, there is nothing he can do. (name) just wishes Aether wouldn't get upset with them or get snarky and salty over them. "Aether is here; we'll go now."

(name)'s attention was drawn by Zhongli's throat clearing. He was holding out the bag that Ayato had given them and (name) snatched it from Zhongli's grasp and exited the vehicle.

Aether welcomed them with a feeble wave and a false smile before assisting Zhongli in collecting their luggage from Baizhu's car trunk. With (name) and Zhongli's valuables in their hands, the two quickly entered the Viator-Trix Residence.

(name) could only watch them do the carrying; she turned around to say goodbye to the others before catching up to Aether and Zhongli.

Aether tried to shrug his cousin off of him, but with (name)'s strong hug, it didn't work. "Ah!" (name) started yelling, "My beloved cousin!"

"I missed you! How are you?" They finally let him go and followed Aether to the kitchen, where he had prepared the entire dinner table for their arrival.

He stretched his hand up and yawned, "I'm good. It would be rude of me to allow my guests to arrive hungry. Try it. It's all Mondstadt's Specialty.

As soon as the three were seated, they began to gorge themselves on the meal.

Zhongli and Aether got along wonderfully, had a ton of intelligent conversation, and hit it off right away. Zhongli and Aether were having a lively conversation when she interrupted, "Oh, I forgot."

They presented the two to one another, who had been talking loudly without even knowing each other's names: "Aether, this is Zhongli, my history bestie; and Zhongli, this is Aether, a member of my favorite twin cousins of all time."

Zhongli wiped his hands before lending it to Aether. "I hope we get along. Nice to meet you, Aether. (name) has told me a lot of great things about you."

"So do I, Zhongli. Thank you for staying with my cousin ever since they relocated to Liyue," Aether said as he shook his hand.

The amber-eyed man made a remark, to which Aether laughed in reply, "It's always a pleasure to be around them."

"Zhongli can have the guest bedroom, and you can use Lumine's room; she expressly requested that I clean it for you," Aether said before rising from his chair and placing his dishes in the sink.

This caused (name) to stop eating and ask, "Huh? Lumine? Where is she now?"

"She is currently residing in Khaenri'ah with her partner, Dainsleif, and when she learned that you had been accepted, she quickly called to ask me to clean her room so that you may stay there."

"Oh, that's fantastic. Did she say when she's coming home?"

The young man with blonde hair shook his head and shrugged his shoulders. "Not yet, no."

All (name) could do was hum. Years have passed since their last visit to this residence. They therefore feel uneasy as they observe how everything has altered around them.

How they long for the presence of Lumine. If they were here, then perhaps they could chat briefly with her.

It's not that (name) can't communicate with Aether or doesn't trust him with anything. The problem is that Aether tends to be blunt, and his remarks can be hurtful. Well, he was just expressing the obvious. Nevertheless, he can occasionally be so direct that you could feel overwhelmed.

Aether is also very brazen in his behavior. He just randomly picks a fight to end everything.

Because of this, (name) chooses Lumine. She is quite calm and is able to discern when it is appropriate to be direct or not. She gives you some time to process and cry before slamming reality in your face.

The twins' yin and yang.

"I'll drive you two to Cape Oath, so you two should go to bed now. I'm heading up, then."

"Okay, Aether. Goodbye!"

"Goodbye, Aether."

(Name) was limited to a sigh. The beginning of a new school tomorrow. Well, as long as Zhongli is with them, they won't have to worry.

What could possibly go wrong?
