after satoru left, you cried for an embarrassingly long time. why had he chosen now to confess? why couldn’t he tell you sooner? that dumbass.
eventually, remembering why you rejected him in the first place, you decided to talk to nobara.
you hadn’t seen her since your fight, standing outside her door you realized how shitty you’d treated her. she was just looking out for you, but you were too blinded to see it. taking a deep breath, you knocked on her door.
no one answered at first, thinking no one was home you turned to go away, when nobara opened the door.
she looked surprised, then she scoffed. “what’re you doing here?” she asked, voice full of sass, as expected. you couldn’t blame her, you were wrong and had been a terrible friend to her.
“i’m sorry.” you said, looking her in the eyes. it was pathetic, you wanted to say more. say how you knew you were wrong, how you missed her a lot, how insane you acted without her, how you needed her. but the words got stuck in your throat.
the day had been a roller coaster of emotions, you thought to expect the unexpected, but when nobara pulled you in for a hug you thought you had to be dreaming.
she cried on your shoulder, you were frozen. she should’ve scolded you, called you an idiot, this was way worse.
the tears you thought were gone came back as you hugged her. “i missed you so much noba.”
“me too, so, so much.” she said pulling you in tighter and closing the door behind her. “let’s promise to never fight ever again?” she said, finally pulling away and looking at you with a smile.
“yes please! gosh there’s so much i have to tell you!” she pushed you onto the sofa and sat next to you.
after telling nobara everything in graphic detail you smiled sheepishly.
“and the only reason i realized how stupid i was being was because of megumi. like imagine that! fucking megumi!”
“girl… are you in some romcom or?”
“don’t even get me started, like he was so sweet but i can’t.”
“hm… let’s not talk about guys right now. how’s training been?”
“oh! super great! satoru actually taught me… sorry…” you paused seeing her annoyed face. “uh what’s new with you noby?”
“oh! i started talking to this girl!”
“oouuuu look at you!” you teased punching her shoulder teasingly.
it had been a couple days since then, you, megumi, yuji, and nobara were eating in the cafeteria. yuji and nobara were arguing about something, you’d stopped paying attention after a while.
you looked around the cafeteria and spotted satoru. he was sitting with his friends, but he wasn’t the same. usually he’d be talking the most and laughing the loudest, but right now he was just eating his food quietly. occasionally throwing a comment that made the rest of the people on his table groan. it was all fake, he was still upset, you could tell.
all you could do was look at him, you were the reason he was like this in the first place. you felt terrible but your friends were more important.
then his eyes met yours. suddenly it felt like you two were the only people in the cafeteria. his gaze was piercing into your soul. it hurt but you couldn’t look away. he had you hypnotized.
“huh?” you looked away from satoru, dismissing the disappointment in your chest, you looked at nobara.
“doesn’t yuji’s hair look like raw chicken?”
“uh i guess?” you replied, mind somewhere else completely.
“what were you looking at?” megumi, who’d been silent the whole time, asked you suddenly.
“uh nothing! i gotta go to the bathroom, be right back!” you said, as you practically sprinted away.
“weirdo…” megumi muttered under his breath.
seeing you walk away, satoru got up too. he didn’t follow you or anything, he just went back to his dorm. what’s skipping a few classes to be dramatic and cry to oliva rodrigo? he then decided to text everyone, he wasn’t sure exactly why, he just thought it was necessary.
“what.” you stared at megumi, confused, he was at your dorm at 3am and saying stupid shit. “are you feeling okay?”
“megs i don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“again, i’m not stupid. i saw how you were looking at him in the cafeteria, and he feels the same. so talk to him.”
“y/n, i said he feels the same.”
“and i said i know. it’s just…”
“when i was with him i was so rude to you guys and i don’t want to be with a guy that changes me like that.” megumi scoffed at your words.
“no offense y/n, but being rude to us was all you. stop blaming others and look at it clearly. you’re scared. i get it, but he really likes you y/n. and i can tell you like him too, so stop being an idiot and go.”
“weren’t you totally against us a couple days ago?”
“this isn’t about me. now are you gonna go or not?”
“y/n as long as you’re happy she’s happy.”
megumi groaned in frustration. “y/n, for the love of god, please just go!”
“going! thanks megumi!” you said jumping up and smiling brighter than you had in weeks.
all your confidence evaporated as you stood in front of his door. you didn’t know why, he liked you, you liked him, but still your imagination was running wild. thoughts coming too fast to keep up. you gulped down your nerves and rang the bell. immediately regretting it. it’s 3 am. what if you woke him up? what if he had a girl over? what if he hates you? what if—
“is everything okay? are you hurt? do you need help with something?” the questions came too quick for you to process. you covered his mouth with your hand, he blushed. “oh?” he said, but it was muffled through your hand.
“um… i just wanted to…” you stopped, all your earlier confidence dying as soon as you looked into his eyes. thought they were calm, though they looked inviting, you could see the nervousness and slight hope in his eyes. it was too much.
“to?” he gently pulled your hand off his face, holding it for a second too long.
“i love you, sorry if this is a stupid confession or something, i’m not good with words like you. but i just—”
he cut you off with a kiss, it was unlike any other kiss you two had shared before. it started slow and gentle, like he was scared of hurting you, then it turned hungry, almost needy, like he couldn’t breathe and you were his oxygen.
when the two of you pulled away he smiled so bright it hurt your eyes. “you have no idea how long i wanted to hear you say those words.” you giggled.
“are you not gonna say it back?” you teased.
“i love you! i love you so much my heart hurts, i love you so much i’d give up anything for you! you’re so perfect and precious to me. i love you so so SO much. these moments without you it felt like i was just a body walking around without a soul. i love you so much.” you didn’t know what to say, you expected him to tease back, you definitely didn’t expect that. his confession hung in the air.
“your dork?” you kissed him. closing the door behind you and moving to his couch.
it was 6 am when i wrote ts so don’t judge how stupid it sounds i just wanted to write smth 😽😽
