Eiji and Ryuji are almost polar opposites. Where Eiji prefers to be quiet and deal with things from the background, Ryuji is loud and draws attention to himself. Something Eiji can’t stand since they attention eventually lands on him too no matter how hard he tries to stay out of the limelight. But they’re both incredibly headstrong and once their minds are set, it’s almost impossible to get them to change their minds. A blessing in disguise at most times since they can think of some stupid ideas that sound great in theory but not in practice. Occasionally they’ll butt heads over injustice and how it should be handled, but even if Eiji looks annoyed half the time they’re together.. he does enjoy their friendship. @electricea

He can’t remember when he finally started to see her as someone more than a friend. After all they grew up together so what if he was just confusing his feelings for her? Or worst– what if his one sided feelings ruined their friendship and they drifted apart. Maybe that was why he never confessed to Yuuna whenever he had the chance. Because he was too scared he’d lose her. And he almost did. Thankfully, the events that happened in-game was enough of a wake up call for him to gather whatever amount of courage he had to face her and confess. He’ll probably never admit it aloud, but to him.. she’ll always be the brightest star in the galaxy. @ivoryfated

And maybe it’s due to his overprotective nature, but ever since Eiji became friends with Sakura he’s pretty sure he’s grown more grey hair from constant stress over the poor girl and her clumsiness. But even though the two are complete opposites– personality and appearance wise– somehow their friendship just works. Until Sakura begins to remember fragments of her past and suddenly begins to avoid Eiji.  I mean– Never forget that Eiji is the meme dealer and Sakura is the living life alert infomercial. @frailock

Who would have thought that two strangers meeting over overpriced fruits would become the closest thing he’s known to a family? Definitely not Eiji. But here we are. Intellectually, Eiji could listen to Naux talk about anything and everything. From her adventures that she’s gathered from her wide collection of books or from her adventures that seem way too realistic but couldn’t be real unless her life were a blockbuster movie. Surprisingly enough, he’ll willingly mute his games in a poor attempt to keep a conversation with her. Although there is a slight age gap between the two of them, it’s rarely brought up and they just enjoy spending time together with Nutmeg and their dog son. @motleymoxie

Even though Eiji doesn’t show as much physical affection as Jo openly showers him with. He hopes she can understand the extent of his feelings through his silent and small gestures. And while she has made progress in getting Eiji to feel more comfortable about taking care of her younger siblings alone, the progress is mostly limited to her coming home and finding them surrounding the tv or his laptop and gaming together. A blessing because there’s no mess around the house, but also a curse because nothing was done on the chore list. Unfortunately, she still has to kidnap his controllers or unplug his gaming consoles just to gain his undivided attention when a new game or dlc comes out. @shctter

The minute she shakily excused herself from the dinner table, he KNEW something was wrong. He’d seen her like this before. More times than he’d like to admit. But she had always been able to suppress the reactions until they were in her room away from the unloyal prying eyes supporting the new Queen. But she still held her head up high, almost as if she were trying to prove the Queen’s earlier statements about her declining health wrong. 

As he turned to follow her out, he swore he saw a smirk appearing on the Queen’s face as she continued to eat. He clenched his fists, his anger rising. Though it was not directed at the girl walking a few steps in front of him, but at himself. He hated feeling powerless whenever Ashley was summoned for tea time with her step-mother. Or worse, when her step-brother would assign him with polishing the entire armory – a task fit for someone with no status like him– for no reason except to isolate Ashley. She’d never disclose what happened behind the doors while he was away, always brushing aside his questions with a forced smile to keep his worries at bay. But he had a feeling he knew. He just hoped that feeling was wrong.

“Ashley..” He spoke her name softly, dropping formalities and stepping closer as she paused in the hallway. “We’re almost to your room. Should I call one of your maids to prepare your things?” His question was met with silence but he wasn’t offended. Stealing a glance at her, he observed the distant look in her eyes. 

                                    Distant or unfocused–? 

He really should have been more attentive. Maybe then he could have prevented what happened next. But he was already stepping ahead to open her door for her. That is, until he heard a thud behind him and immediately spun around to see her body collapsed on the floor. "Ashley? Ashley!” His voice faltered, pulling her closer to him, trying but failing to hold her close as her body convulsed in his grasp. Her eyes were shut tight in pain, her hands trembling as she clutched his uniform weakly. 

DISTRACTED  GAZE  LINGERS  on  the  a  massing  crowd  in  the  ballroom  ,  and  even  as  he  pulls  awkwardly  at  his  shirt  ,  attention  doesn’t  drift  to  him  .  shame  lingers  on  her  form  ,  as  she  fiddles  with  hem  of  her  dress  ,  before  finally  looking  over  at  him  .  distracted  frown  ,  sloping  down  as  she  nods  briskly  ,  perfect  curls  following  .

His steps faltered slightly at her words. Every time she introduced herself, it was almost always to the sons of potential business partners. Someone with more social standing than he’d ever  hope to have. “Honestly I’m amazed you still remember all of their names. I already forgot the name of the first few that we met.” Carefully he weaved through the crowd, mumbling something that resembled an apology as they made their way out.

Once he was sure they were out of earshot, he turned to face her with a small smile. Resisting the urge to step forward and press a kiss on her forehead should any curious eyes be watching. “You were amazing back there. Almost reminded me of how intimidating you were when you threatened me over hogging the wifi.”
