While I'm here at the confession scene, here is my translation of a passage that has bugged me for a while:
他本来只是随口一句, 谁知, 魏无羡恍然道：“说的也是。”
说完，魏无羡便声嘶力竭地吼道：“蓝湛！蓝忘机！含光君！我, 我刚才，是真心想跟你上床的！”
He had only said it as an offhanded comment, but unexpectedly, Wei Wuxian came to the realization: "You're not wrong."
Having said that, Wei Wuxian then roared with all his might, "Lan Zhan! Lan Wangji! Hanguang-jun! I—Earlier I—slept with you because I genuinely wanted to!"
真心, "true-heartedly". I feel that was the most moving part of his confession at a time when LWJ was most torn up over the situation, and it's a shame that I always see it left out of other translation quotes.
(And there's also some nuance of distinction between "I wanted to sleep with you" vs "I slept with you and wanted it" but you don't want to hear me try to explain that, is boring.)
Okay @god-save-the-misfits I'll do my best but please keep in mind 1) I am not the end-all-be-all Chinese authority; I don't even have any academic credentials 2) I'm gonna give my best interpretation but it's still subjective and there's room for alternate readings!

我刚才，是真心想跟你上床的。 I just now, [was] [true-heartedly] [want/willing] [go to bed with you] [past-tense qualifier].
If you translate it as-you-see-it, then it's easy to end up with "I really wanted to sleep with you". However, if you add in accounting for the 是 and 的, it becomes more... um, I'm not qualified to describe it academically, so I'll just illustrate through examples:
我真心想跟你上床 I genuinely want to sleep with you.
我是真心想跟你上床 I am genuinely wanting to sleep with you.
我是真心想跟你上床的 [The fact was that] I was genuinely wanting to sleep with you.
Also, we mustn't forget (this blog's favorite word) context! Those two did just sleep together, LWJ is torn up over the fact that they did sleep together but WWX's consent/desire for it is in question, WWX just realized why LWJ is torn up over it - it's much more impactful for WWX to be confirming his intention for this act rather than just stating what sounds like a general desire, IMO. At least, that's how I felt as a reader!
(And also, it's way funnier for all the unsuspecting bystanders to be hearing "I ****ed you and liked it" than just "I wanna **** you" haha.)
