summer daze

Now that I’m finally all unpacked and set up at my new place, I thought I’d have more ambition to get out and explore more – but it’s Sunday night and I kind of just want to Netflix and chill, ya know? I gotta say, never thought it would happen – but I think it took moving here to notice that I might actually be a real grown up now? Maybe it’s the move, or the divorce – or the non desire to party until six am anymore, but either way I definitely notice the change. Can’t say I’m all that angry about it, and it’s not like I’m boring. I’m still down for a good time, but I guess tastes change, sometimes. Anyways, let me stop babbling. For the people that don’t know me, I’m Adrianne. For the people that do – who’s going to provide the wine and watch comedy specials with me? @townofbayview​

I definitely didn’t go out after I finished unpacking everything. I enjoyed the fruits of my labors by spending the night on the couch watching trashy Netflix movies and eating take-out. Best decision I could’ve made. I hear you though- the older you get, the stronger the desire is to just chill at home or stay in and do something around the house. It takes too much work to go out sometimes and it’s not worth it usually. I don’t know you but- what kind of wine are we talking?

So what is new in the world of Sarah White Drew?  Other than filming a Christmas movie in December and January in some of the most amazing castles, cathedrals, and concert halls and missing Bayview more than anyone will ever understand not a whole lot.  What have I missed while I was away?  I want all the good, the bad, and the ugly stuff you have to tell me.  Oh and to any new residents in town, I am Sarah Drew, I am a proud fake ginger who has two adorable kids who are actual gingers named Micah and Hannah who are my little angels who recently found they loved the musical Hamilton.  You have been warned it could be playing uncontrollably all hours of the day and into the night in and around my house.   Oh and yes I ramble quite a lot….I would apologize yet I get this way when I have only been talking to my children for the last few weeks.

Okay but I’m jealous now. I’d kill to do a Christmas related movie. I hope there was fake snow at least? Not sure what you’ve missed because I haven’t been here too long but I’m glad you’re back! Do your kids sing along to other musicals? Because if so- I’m open and ready to babysit. I can do Hamilton but can’t get some of the faster lines so it might be funny to watch me try. Give ‘em a good laugh.

You think unpacking would get easier the more you do it, but it’s quite the opposite. In fact, I think it gets worse each time. So far, I managed to trip over my own boxes, floor:1 Chris 0. Some lovely colorful words came out of my mouth while Drift judged me from his bed. I think he’s grumpy that we keep moving. At least the essentials are unpacked, and by essentials, I absolutely mean the coffee machine. It’s been a while Bayview, but good to be back! Ah, see that definitely happened to me while unpacking everything. The boxes ended up winning in the end. Hopefully this is the last move then? Can’t be moving around too much if it upsets him too. The coffee maker has gotta be the first thing unpacked. I’d be upset if it wasn’t. Another Chris? Better add it to the list. But welcome back man!

Can you believe that 11 days, 2 years ago I stepped into Bayview and thought this is the place where I will start the rest of my life? Cheesy I know but it worked for me, then time went on and I left for a bit… Two years a bit and here I am. A hand full of unpacked boxes, funny story when I was boring the movers with said story they asked me why I didn’t just leave all my stuff here? That was a good question and still one I have never been able to answer, but here I am. Back in Bayview, so for those who I haven’t met yet I am Melissa a former/newly returned resident. And for those who I haven’t seen, how are you all going? Don’t hate me for leaving you? 

Welcome back! I bet it’s a great feeling to come back to a place you loved. I visited New York last week and it was nice but didn’t quite feel like home anymore. Guess that means I’m stuck here for a bit. Can’t say that’s the worst idea because I did buy a house here. What made ya come back?

One word: kids. That’s why there’s never a dull moment in my life. Even though it’s summer, my daughter is still going to her art classes. Well, was. Before we moved to Bayview. So anyway, yesterday, as I was going through our bags, I found a hidden note from the teacher. It says my daughter’s doing great but he specified that “she needs to use kind words with her friends”. Now, it doesn’t sound too bad, right? But still, as a caring father – and since she was hiding it from me – I asked her about it. Very calmly, she told me that her “friends are dumb and they need to know it”. Well… wow. I guess she got the honesty gene from her father.

Why does none of this surprise me? Can’t say I blame the kid though. If her friends are dumb, someone’s gotta tell them. If you ever need a babysitter, please feel free to call me. I’m sure I could teach a thing or two that her teacher wouldn’t particularly like.

A week ago, some good friends of mine send me a few packages filled with food & other goods, and I’m living life. Nothing’s better than tasting a different culture’s food. I’m willing to share if anyone helps me unpack… Okay, maybe not, but I do appreciate the help. Hey, I’m Michael, once a werewolf now a doctor. Things can happen pretty quickly in Hollywood. What kind of snacks are we talking about here? I’m a little picky with snacks but I’ll try anything once. I’m gladly down to help unpack if you’ll share. Wait, are you actually a doctor or am I missing something? Anyway! Hi Michael, I’m Sebastian. I’m not sure I’ve got a favorite memory at the moment but come back in a bit and I’m sure I’ll have something then.

True, but I don’t know, isn’t it a child’s duty to disappoint parents to some degree? She knows it’s not me when she picks up the phone, but I see her waiting for the phone call. It’s okay, but next time warn me so, I can get you to lay down on a couch while I keep a pencil in my mouth as I keep nodding. Nah, be more confident, man! You can do it. Maybe a bit violent but if you don’t complain; you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Well, you’re not wrong. I just don’t wanna be the one to disappoint her if I don’t have to. I honestly don’t think I could live with it. I hope your mom isn’t really that gullible but I think my mom would be so I can’t say much. You mean warn you so you can start charging me is what I’m sure you meant to say. I’m working on it! Think I might ask a few people out on dates and see where that gets me. Might help with the confidence, yeah?

I live for the exercise, but I don’t have to be as big as Steve anymore. I’m playing a dad now. The bod needs to slim down. That and you know I love beer; it doesn’t help. In case you are trying to record it? No TMZ here, man. You’ll feel welcomed in this town because there are many oldies with no children here; no pressure here. I run straight, though. I need some time to get that tackle in!

I mean, I guess. Though you’re not playing a dad anymore, are you? That shoe was amazing, by the way. Don’t think I’ve seen anything as good as that show in a long time, man. I’m not recording anything I promise. Eh, you say there’s no kids here but I swear I’ve seen tons of them on my walks around town. Please don’t get a running start because then I know I’ll be on my back in seconds.

She’s good most of the days, though somedays she had moments where she wants to scream and cry. I don’t blame her, I’d like to scream without being judged. Theres way too many options. I tried to compare some of them and got overwhelmed.

I can’t blame her either. I’ve more than once had those days recently but yet, people would judge me if they saw the scene. Guess that’s being an adult, yeah? I feel that. I should order out tonight and maybe try margaritas?

Wow, you had such faith in me. I did a little, but she was tired so I did it, didn’t take me much time. Oh my god I can’t believe that exists, That is seriously the best idea ever!

I was just worried the little one was going to be a handful, okay! Yeah, sometimes I’m sure it’s just better to take care of things yourself so you know they get done correctly. Let me know when you end up trying it out and what you end up getting. I’m still trying to figure out which place I like best.

You’re welcome.  I think that by the time she comes she might be to the point where she doesn’t even really bring it up.  I could be wrong though.  Hopefully you have time to get the guest room sorted and looking good by the time she shows up. You don’t want to make it too good though or she’ll never want to leave.  Really? I didn’t know that about you. If it’s not too personal, was he just an absent father or was he… well, otherwise removed from the picture.  Either way would be difficult but at least you had a mother that was strong enough to take on both roles.  I think it just sort of depends on what I’m needing to talk about to who I call up. Parents definitely at least try.

I’m hoping she will,, she hasn’t brought it up in the last few calls we’ve had. I’ll let you know what ends up happening. I’m gonna put a nice mattress in there but not too nice. Make it decent but not livable, you’re absolutely right. No worries, I’ve gotten to the point where it doesn’t bother me to talk about it. He was just never in the picture. He left when I was around 2? So I never met him. My mom was and is my rock which is why I feel bad about the whole kids thing. I get that! My mom gives good life advice whereas I’ve heard dad’s give good love advice.

I left Marvel, man, the diet is your problem! Haha, give me all the snacks. Yep! We only spill the beans when we around each other. Can’t have people reading with us. I mean, you came barging in town about wanting babies? Where is Sebastian and what has your mom done to you? Hahaha. We will see who gets the first tackle in.

Damnit you’re right. I can’t believe you’re not keeping up with any semblance of healthy eating. I’ve seen you at the gym, Evans. You live for that. I’m not gonna tell anyone but fine, I get it. Tell me in person. You can even whisper it in my ear if you want. It’s not just my mom, it’s almost every single one of my friends with their kids too. And my cousin. It’s literally just you and I without them and I feel left out. Have I missed the train here? You probably will, I know how fast you run.

Best to ignore it, Seb, it’s your life anyway. My mother is going to wait a long time if that’s true! Imagine a scammer calling her, and she gets happy because she thinks it’s me. The continuous disappointment she faces. I was about to say; you are really throwing your life at me. I understand, though! When you miss something in your life is easy to think you will do the same. But it’s a good way for you to show them all wrong, you know? Yep, I throw you out of the window when you do.

That is true but I feel like it’s easier said than done. At some point I feel like I’m disappointing her the longer I put off everything. If a scammer called her and she thought it was you, I’d be a tiny bit worried. Yeah, sorry. Didn’t mean to treat you like a therapist there for a second. Just have it bottled up and it likes to word vomit every once in a while. I hope I can prove them all wrong but only time will tell. Throwing me out of a window seems a bit violent, please don’t.

Either do I.  Maybe it is a good thing we do not have our noses in everything and anything though here in town, ya know?  

Hashing It Out Over Dinner || Sebastian & Leighton

To say the woman was nervous was a complete understatement. It had been a few days since she’d last saw Sebastian – for the first time in what felt like forever – and they ended up fighting in the street like children. She told herself she was going to try her hardest not to let herself get as worked up as she did…but who knew how well that would turn out? Changing into something a bit nicer than her latest habit of wearing yoga pants and a tank top, the woman still kept it casual – the whole point of this dinner was to talk, not try to impress each other, she reminded herself. Making her way out to her car, stopping first in the kitchen and pulling a bottle of wine from her wine fridge. It was the polite thing to do, not show up empty handed. Besides, she knew she’d probably need it to get through the night.  Putting in the address he’d given her into her GPS, Leighton got in her car and made her way to his house.

Finding it easily enough, Leighton parked and sat in her car for an extra moment. Her heart was pounding through her chest. How was this supposed to work? She was already getting amped up and nervous and she hadn’t even went inside yet. After a few deep breaths the actress made her way up to his place and knocked, waiting for him to appear. As he did and the door opened, Leighton automatically held up the bottle of wine in her hand, “I brought wine.” she said, instantly regretting that being the first words out of her mouth. “Oh, and also…yanno…hi.” This was already a mess. @sebas–stan

Nerves had started to get the better of Sebastian as the time drew closer to when Leighton would show up. He’d been fine all day until he realized how far behind he was in getting everything prepared. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew he didn’t have to prove anything to her but it didn’t stop him from obsessively cleaning every inch of his house. The rooms were still sparsely decorated, only filled with the few things he’d brought over from his one floor apartment back in New York. His new place with five floors- including the basement, looking practically empty. Knowing there was only so much he could do on the appearance of his house, Sebastian started working on dinner. Cooking was something he prided himself on and he knew that Leighton knew that and he didn’t want to give her anything to complain about so he started on the handmade pasta, working quickly and quietly to get everything prepared. Once everything was cooking or waiting to be cooked, Sebastian ran upstairs to change into a nicer pair of jeans and a button-down, something casual and hoping he didn’t give off the vibe that he cared too much.

It really does! Like, all my friends who have kids? I’m pretty sure they’re all grown up now. I’d probably hide because I don’t want people to remember that I’m turning thirty. I still have a year left for that. Oh, gee. Even a cute pup? 

Oh, for sure. Most of the people I know from school have kids going into high school which is just crazy to me. How is that even possible? Turning 30, eh? It’s not that bad, I promise. My 30s have been great and I’m not excited to get to the next decade, that’s for sure. She doesn’t even like cute animals. Well, she likes to look but that’s it. Any closer than 10 feet and she’s checked out.
