Scripts of the Sea

Welcome! Scripts of the sea is a kpop fanfiction network dedicated to creating a dynamic community of fic writers! We welcome all fandoms, parings, and genres, with only a few restrictions.

Before applying please review the following criteria:

You must be 18 years or older to apply!

Your account must have at least one work of fiction published or linked (we accept both tumblr and ao3 works!)

Must be able to join our discord server

If you fit these, you might be a great addition to our network! Please review our Rules and FAQ before moving to the application post!

If you have read the rules and the FAQ and are ready to fill out your application, please give this post a read over!

Acceptance

Please reblog this post and follow the network

An admin will be in contact within a timely manner. If it has been two weeks without word of acceptance or denial please check with an admin to make sure your application was received.  

If accepted you will be sent a welcome message from an admin as well as a link for our discord server

Please make sure your messages are open

Please join our server within one week of your acceptance. If you have not joined within a week you will be booted from the network and have to apply again.

If your application was denied you will get a rejection message from an admin. This message will shortly explain why your application was rejected and if you are allowed to reapply.

After Acceptance

Please link the network somewhere on your blog. Doesn’t matter where as long as it is visible to your followers. 

Please join our server

Use the tag #seascriptsnet on your fics (within the first five tags please)

Drop your fic off to be added to our queue in the appropriate fic drop channel on our server

General Network Rules

You must be 18 years or older to apply! 

Your account must have at least one work of fiction published or linked

You must be respectful of all members, their work, and skill level 

Criticism is only welcome when a member asks for it. Receiving criticism when you’re not looking for it can be painful, so we ask you to refrain from giving any until the member asks.

Please be specific as possible when asking for a beta (do you want criticism? Just a grammar check? detail what you’re looking for)

Bullying, any kind of LGBTQ+ phobia, any kind of religious intolerance, any kind of racism or racial intolerance are not acceptable. You will be banned immediately. 

Members are required to have a discord account and join our server

Fanwars or hatred directed at specific groups or idols are not acceptable. You will be banned immediately. 

Plagiarism, reposting, or stealing content will not be tolerated. You will be banned immediately. 

If you are banned from the net you are not welcome to apply again. If you leave the net on your own accord you are more than welcome to apply again.

You must notify an admin of a hiatus or url change.

After acceptance please link the network somewhere on your blog

We do accept Ao3 works! Please check our Ao3 page for more information

Server Etiquette 

NSFW conversations and work must stay in the designated NSFW channels

Please use the channels appropriately and move your conversation to another channel if an admin directs you to

We allow swearing, but refrain from any highly offensive words or slurs

Always check the DM status of a member before DMing them. 

You must have pronoun roles and DM status roles

Please contact an admin instead of starting a confrontation should something arise

Formatting

You must include the pairing, word count, genre, and au of your fic 

You must include specific warnings. You cannot just say that warnings apply or that the story contains triggering topics. You must detail the specific triggers and warnings. You cannot just write dead dove. Again, your warnings must be specific and accurate for each fic. Not properly writing warnings will result in a warning and the network not reblogging your work.

If your fic is over 500 words it must include a read more. We will not reblog works without a read more. 

All NSFW content must be under the read more

If your fic was beta-ed or you had help on the graphics please credit the members who helped you on your fic

If your fic is part of an event the hidden word is mermaids please include the event and tag the appropriate networks/collabs 

Dark Fic

Dark fic is accepted and reblogged by our network with some restrictions 

We will never reblog or support fics with pedophilia/maps, beastiality/zoophilia, necrophilia, and incest between blood relatives.

If you are questioning whether or not your fic will be accepted by the network, please reach out to an admin. We are willing to discuss your ideas and work on a case by case basis as long as the fic doesn’t contain the above, banned topics

I want to apply but I’m not 18.

We’re sorry but we cannot accept underaged members. Our network supports and reblogs smut and other dark content not suitable for minors. We are not comfortable with welcoming you at this time, but please feel free to apply once you are of age!

I want to apply but I don’t have a discord.

You must have a discord to join this network. With tumblr’s current tagging system the only way for us to see your fics is through the fic drop channels on our discord, otherwise they will not be reblogged. Furthermore, we are attempting to create a livley community of writers. Discord is a platform where we can all communicate together and build that community. In other words, talking on tumblr sucks Discord is easier.

We ask that you please sign up for Discord (its free!) and contact an admin if you need help figuring the site out. 

What kind of fics do you accept?

We accept nearly all works of fiction! We currently accept words for any and all groups that are of legal age (idols must be 18+). We accept MxR (member x reader), MxM (member x member), and MxOC (member x oc). We accept smut, fluff, and angst. We accept dark fic. We accept series and oneshots.

We will not reblog series masterlists, previews/teasers, headcannons/bullet point reactions, astrology/tarot readings, or MTL. In other words, we only accept written fiction in the form of series, oneshots, drabbles, and longer scenarios/reactions. 

Are there any banned topics?

Yes. Under no circumstances will the network reblog fics with beastialty/zoophilia, pedophilia/maps, incest between blood relatives, and necrophilia. All other content is fair game. 

Do you accept dubcon/noncon?

Yes! As long as the fic meets all of our formatting requirements, is properly tagged, and in our fic drop channel it will be reblogged. 

Do you accept incest?

No and yes. Incest between blood relatives is strictly forbidden. Incest between step family members is acceptable as long as it meets all the formatting requirements, is properly tagged, and in our fic drop. 

Do you accept yandere?

Yes! As long as the fic meets all of our formatting requirements, is properly tagged, and in our fic drop channel it will be reblogged.

What about beastiality/zoophilia?

Under no circumstances will this ever be reblogged or supported by the network.

Please note that we do not consider hybrid fics, monster fucking fics, ABO fics, or werewolf fics to be beastilaity/zoophilia. Beastiality/zoophilia specifically refers to having sex with an animal. All of the above topics are 100% acceptable. 

What about pedophila?

Under no circumstances will this ever be reblogged or supported by the network. Ever. Period. 

When do applications open?

You can check our bio/about to see if our applications are open! 

Do you reblog Ao3 links?

If the linked fic is your original work, then yes we will reblog it! We will not reblog fic recs.

Why wasn’t my fic reblogged?

It either:

-included a banned topic -was not properly formatted -was not put in our fic drop -was not using the tag #seascriptsnet

Please review our rules to refresh yourself on how to format a fic and view the application to refresh yourself on how to submit a fic for reblogging. 

When will my fic be reblogged?

Fics should be reblogged within two weeks of being submitted to our fic drop. If your fic has not been reblogged please contact an admin for help!

We accept works that are cross posted, or posted exclusively on Ao3! Please read this post throughly to get an understanding of how we operate.

First Steps

Please link your Ao3 account in our discord server! There is a specific channel for this #ao3-profiles. 

Once you have linked your account the network will subscribe to your profile.

We promote our members Ao3 fics by reblogging their own cross posted links (this process is the same as posting a tumblr only fic for queuing) and by bookmarking the Ao3 fic so that it appears on our account. 

If the network is hosting an event we will make a collection to showcase your fics in. 

Please use the ao3 fic drop channel to let us know when you post a fic

All the same restrictions and rules apply to Ao3 fics as tumblr fics. Please see our rules and FAQ for more information 

Formatting

Please make sure to format your fic properly or else it will not be added to the networks bookmarks

All fics should have a rating (works not rated will not be accepted) and archive warnings (fics labeled “choose not to use archive warnings” will not be accepted)

How We Tag

We tag all works we reblog with a system that will (hopefully) make it easy to the search the blog to find fics to browse. 

We tag fics with:

g: G stands for group

m: M stands for member/s

p: P stands for pairing

wc: WC stand for word count. We divide fics into 500 and under, 500-1k, 1k-5k, 5k-10k, 10k-15k, 15k and over

au: AU stands for... well AU

genre: Genre is genre! We categorize genre as fluff, angst, and dark. Where is smut you might ask? Well look at C

c: C stands for citrus. That’s right folks, we’re using the citrus scale. In lieu of recent tumblr tagging scandals and the websites increased crackdown on the NSFW, we decided to use the citrus scale for all smutty works. Staff might have taken #girl from us but they haven’t taken our #lemons yet!

What is the citrus scale you might ask?

Fics will be divided into four categories.

Oranges: Contains some kissing, very pg13, no explicit smut

Limes: No explicit smut, but more than kissing. Very lightly described smut with some heavier making out and maybe some clothed humping

Lemons: Explicit smut. Detailed, graphic, and R rated

Grapefruits: Explicit smut with a heavy heaping of very graphic kink and descriptions. This is your BDSM, your dark fic, and all your niche kinks.
