Thick and Juicy!

What the email basically said was that I was doing an excellent job at work. As an 'intern’, she was impressed by what I produce, my work ethic, and my creative talent. She even commended my professionalism. She doesn’t see me as an intern, but as one of her senior Art Directors and Multimedia Designers and a big asset to her company. She even stated that I did way far better than senior art directors she have worked in the past. She said that I should be proud of myself.

She also stated that she doesn’t look forward to the time when I finish up all our hours and leave her. She asked for an estimated day/month of when I’ll leave and she asked me to stay forever. Haha! She even stated that she doesn’t want to me to leave!

Her email mattered to me a lot because I’ve never been recognized by the hard work I do and I’ve never been commended for working really hard. My main goal ever since I started back May 18th was to give a good and lasting impression, and that email validated everything. I’m not even halfway through my time with her and the company I’m working at, but I’m already making history. I can say I’m really proud of myself thus far. A few years back I was this close to giving up, I shut down and let my creative life behind, but I had to take a stand for myself. I regained the remaining hope I had, stood tall, and worked hard.

This is the job I’ve always dreamed of. In all honesty. I love creating designs and layouts for different mediums, I love being challenged, and I love the people around me. It’s all so surreal at first, like it’s all so unbelievable! I love what I do here and I plan on making higher quality work as I go on. I’m so lucky that I had the opportunity to work and experience what I wanted and what I love doing!

Reading her email had me stop and tear up a bit, haha! I immediately emailed her back and told her how uplifting and inspiring her email was. It was a tad long email but basically those last two paragraphs were a short version. She ping-ed me at Hangouts shortly after saying she was in tears after reading my email and she wasn’t exaggerating. She said she was touched by my email. She can’t believe of how much a sweetheart I am, and how at a young age I’m able to emulate and create work similar to a perfected professional. She sees a bright future and a great potential in me. A good sound work ethic and level of talent means a lot, and she even said I have what it takes.

Why am I making this post? I just want to let everybody know that there’s always time to change and recreate yourself even if it’s too late. People very close to me knew what happened back in late 2011 and how my foolishness made my academic life crush and crumble down. That was my lowest point so far in life, I let a lot of people down, I let a number of people lose their faith and trust in me. I promised myself 2016 is the year I recreate myself and I make things right. I never saw myself in this position after all the negative things that has happened to me. Again, there’s a rainbow always after the rain, and a calm after the storm. I’m so happy that I have regained myself and I made things going on. Here’s to making more history!
