Use the words you want to use; play with language, experiment, use said, use adverbs, use “unrealistic” writing patterns, slap words you don’t even know are words on the page. Language is a sandbox and you, as the author, are at liberty to shape it however you wish. Build castles. Build a hovel. Build a mountain on a mountain or make a tiny cottage on a hill. Whatever it is you want to do. Write.

This post routinely gets notes and every time it peaks again, I get the urge to mute the notifs because of the amount of people being sanctimonious condescending arses. But then there’s also all the people who thank me, or who say how much they needed to read this, or who get enthusiastic and start rambling because they’ve got fresh motivation and it’s so heartwarming. yes, you go you funky little writers! be free!!
