Sherlock absolutely loves these trips, despite the fact that they’re short and there’s never a lot of time to see too much outside the hotels.

Years later, John tells Sherlock that he and his sister used to travel to various countries with their parents when they were children, but stopped doing it when they became teenagers and no longer wanted to go on holidays with their parents.
