actually it’s utterly horrifying to me how kanye west has been repeatedly violently misogynistic, has proven to be a rape apologist, has sexualized his infant daughter, has mocked and humiliated past women in his life a million times over with endlessly vile and sexist language––and it’s been met by people at large with an apathetic shrug. a “boys will be boys” type of response. the reaction has undoubtedly been a sort of “that’s just kanye and he’s crazy these days haha.” but taylor swift deserves the vicious insidious misogyny she gets because she’s not as good of a feminist as you want her to be? 

misogyny is still misogyny even if you don’t think the victim is a good person. it’s still violent, it’s still a sign of a bigger problem, it still shows how little kanye values the women in his life in any capacity and i’m tired of seeing people who should know better than this willingly continuing this witch hunt.

“taylor swift is playing the victim like she always does” like honestly this is ridiculous. she is a victim of kanye’s misogyny, she has always been a victim of his misogyny, since the very moment they became associated with each other. and she is not the only woman involved? what about rihanna, who was depicted naked and unconscious next to her documented abuser? what about amber rose? what about bill cosby’s victims? did they all consent to this? where’s the footage proving this?

where’s the video footage of taylor swift saying, “yes, kanye, i consent to you portraying me practically lifeless and naked in bed with a rapist, i’m a bitch and you made me famous?” that footage doesn’t fucking exist because kanye didn’t ask her permission and because even if he did ask, and she had said no, he would’ve done it anyway. kanye has no respect for women. none. he has proven this so many times and somehow people still remain able to ignore it.

i’m so angry and hurt and frustrated as a survivor of abuse and sexual assault that people can easily push aside what kanye’s done in order to go after taylor swift because of course this bitch got what she deserved for not being intersectional enough.

if you’re celebrating taylor swift being humiliated and violated in front of the world because she’s not a good enough feminist, but you don’t care how much kanye west (assuredly a worse feminist than taylor swift) benefits from this situation, you aren’t seeing the big picture, and it’s so frustrating, it’s so sad. ultimately, kanye benefits from people gleefully tearing down taylor swift and ignoring his transgressions, after he’s been a violent and vicious misogynist time and time again, in this situation and countless others. 

It wasn’t like Alessia wanted to live with Will. But because her adoptive fathers said that she had to learn to stop throwing her money like it was nothing, she had no choice but to live with her ex so they can make rent with the little money she has. Living with him should be easy, what with them having a not nasty breakup (which was saying something considering her record of relationships), and that was what pushed her to go and ask him if she can be his roommate. It was supposed to be easy breezy, but it wasn’t exactly how the next two months went. It seemed that every guy she brought over, Will had a problem with. Alessia didn’t understand why he could possibly dislike her one night stands, unless it was because they bothered him the night before. She had a feeling he was rather jealous, though she didn’t understand why. There was nothing to be jealous about, as far as she was aware. It wasn’t like Les was in a serious relationship with any of them; she was just looking for a fling, no more and no less. But Will didn’t seem to see it that way and it greatly annoyed Alessia how he can’t seem to keep his temper in check whenever he encountered her one night stands the morning after. He was going to be scaring away potential flings and she wasn’t having any of that anymore. Alessia wanted to scream at him for being such a hypocrite; he took home girls too, but even though she didn’t like them, she never kicked them out the way he did. The last straw was last night, so needless to say, she was in a bad mood. “Oh shut up,” she hissed, sneering at him. “You scared him away and it was on purpose! You know, I don’t do jack shit when you bring home girls and yet, when I bring home guys, they end up being scared away or have a black eye.” 

Kennedy couldn’t help but roll his eyes a little bit. Everyone kept telling him that he needed to take a break. That he needed to live his twenties instead of acting like he was in his forties and close to having a mid-life crisis. “I doubt it.” He said, shaking his head a little bit. He actually could believe it, but why was that such a bad thing? Everyone made it seem like it was horrible. It wasn’t half bad, not with the results that they were getting. Kennedy shrugged a little, “More like revise, make sure everything is in order. Fix a couple things here and there.” He said, totally down playing it. It was probably a lot more than he could ever do, but he wouldn’t know unless he tried. Plus, he did have a lot to go over. Suddenly, Kennedy felt a light lump in his throat. Of course he hadn’t forgotten about their ‘getaway’ that Lyra had finally convinced him to take. However, he just figured that it would be something that she had forgotten. While maybe the two never worked out as a couple, there was still something there that always bothered Kennedy and her bringing up the trip wasn’t helping at all. He blinked his eyes a couple of times before thinking of something to say. “A-Are you sure that’s what you want? I mean, I’m not saying yes, but won’t it be a bit, I don’t know… Awkward?” He questioned before taking a deep breath and looking at the graphs on his desk. A break wouldn’t hurt him and everything was already paid and booked for, so Lyra did have a point. He just wasn’t sure. “I don’t know, Lyra. It could be just a disaster waiting to happen.” Kennedy was a downer, he was just a realist and he was afraid that something on this trip could really hurt their already fragile friendship. 

Erin wasn’t entirely sure how two people could have such awful roommates, and yet, they belonged on such opposite sides of the awful spectrum.  As Annie explained her roommate struggles though, all Erin could do was laugh.  That was a completely different thing than she had been expecting to hear about roommate troubles.  “She… oh my god, you’re getting voodoo dolled.”  Shaking her head, Erin ran her fingers through her wet hair, messing with the tangles plaguing her strands of hair.  “I don’t think you should be sharing an apartment with her at all.  What in heavens fucking name have you done to this girl for her to go to such lengths to wish the worst on you?”  In the time that Erin had shared an apartment with Annie, she couldn’t even pinpoint a particular moment in which she had been angry with her.  Come to think of it, Erin couldn’t even remember what the reasoning behind them moving out from living with one another had been.  It had been the perfect roommate situation, especially since Erin had always found comfort sleeping in the same place that Annie was. 

“Yes,”  Erin quickly quipped with a wide smile, not expecting anything more than playful words right now.  Her eyes raced down to her hand, feeling the rush of energy running from her hand and up through her arm.  Even the slightest touch from the blonde, and Erin was sent spiraling down an endless hole of forgetting how to compose a sentence, let alone even remembering how to breathe.  Her little crush that she had developed on her best friend had grown to unspeakable lengths nowadays, and it was something that was thoroughly messing with her head whenever it came to being around her.  “We really should though… like, I-I mean I think my lease is up in a couple of weeks anyways, and I sure as hell am not renewing it with Satan’s favorite wicked stepchild.”  Erin said with a slight laugh before she was looking over at Annie and instantly getting lost in the girl’s eyes.  There was just always something about Annie that got her weak and all worked out.  Somehow at the same time.  She just wished more than anything that she could step up and make a move on her, but her friendship was far too valuable to her life.  She couldn’t ruin things. 

Her head shook with laughter, glad that it was still as easy to talk to Erin as it always had been, even though she didn’t see her nearly as often nowadays. It’d gotten her in trouble a few times back when they’d still been in college -- sleep not a priority when she was talking about anything and everything with the other girl, but now it was a welcome relief from the silence that hung over her apartment. Plus, there was so much she wanted to get off her chest -- although, of course, some of the things that had been weighing on her mind wouldn’t be wise to disclose to someone who saw her as just a friend and with whom she’d surely ruin her relationship if she so much as breathed a word about the feelings that had begun to take over her mind. And so she turned her attention to a lighter topic, hoping to distract herself from the way Erin’s eyes crinkled and her face lit up when she smiled. “Nothing! I swear, I even tried making her cupcakes when she moved in and everything. But I hope she was just practicing because those things are creepy as hell and I don’t want anything to do with them.” It’d always been easy with Erin, even when she had been unsure about what her feelings for the other girl were. No fights, no disagreements, just someone who seemed to get her completely -- and Annie had valued that.

It was probably just her over-active imagination, added on top of a dash of hopeful thinking, but Annie could have sworn that Erin’s usually composed demeanor wavered just slightly at the brush of her hand against the other girl’s arm. Her own stomach fluttering at the thought, although she did her best to push it away -- after all, she usually got in trouble when she read into things too deeply, and this was certainly the case here. Although she wasn’t quite as sure about the fact that Erin saw her as nothing more than a friend as she always had been. Not when she was looking at her like that -- green eyes so intent on her own that it made her throat constrict before she willed herself to break the silence in the fear that Erin might begin to suspect something. “God, our roommates sound like a match made in heaven. Or... I guess hell in this case. But honestly, we really should... I think mine’s up soon too, and... I’ve missed you. Just dropping by here every so often is not enough. No one else has been able to compare -- and that’s a fact.” A nervous chuckle fled her lips, hoping that she didn’t sound too hung up on the other girl. Affection had always been something that had come easily to her, and sometimes it ended up bringing her into dangerous territory, but she prayed that her remark sounded like something that someone who was just missing a friend would say.

Almost everyday had been the same for Daniella. She would take her to school in the morning before heading off to work. And then picking her up once school was done.  That had always been how her day was. Either that or her parents would help with picking Lily up from school when she he herself couldn’t. Today though she had the day off. Time to relax after dropping her daughter off at school. A small yawn had escaped her lips as she sat up on the couch. Looking at the time, her eyes widened. She was late. For the first time ever, she was late with picking Lily up. “Crap, crap, crap.” She mumbled to herself.  Almost instantly, she pushed herself off of the couch.

Running back to her bedroom, she quickly changed before coming back out. Never had this ever happened. Where Daniella had been late. But it was the first time. But still, this wasn’t like her.  Grabbing her purse, she soon enough made her way out the door and to the car. Getting in, she started the car up before pulling out and driving off to the school. Hopefully she wasn’t too late picking up Lily. If she was, well then hopefully someone was there with her. A small sigh escaping her lips, she leaned back against the seat as she  drove to her daughters school. Pulling up, she saw the last bus pull away. At least she wasn’t completely late. Which was a good thing. Pulling into a parking space, she turned her car off before getting out. Taking a deep breath, she made her way into the school. Coming up on the classroom Lily was in, she soon enough stopped in the doorway. Seeing the teacher with her, she couldn’t help but to smile. “I hope I’m not too late picking her up.”

His head shook as the woman approached, picking up the stress that lingered on her features and hoping to alleviate it as much as he possibly could. After all, raising a kid was hard enough without teachers yelling at you for being late, and he didn’t mind the company of her little girl. “No, no -- just in time. I was just clearing some things away and Lily’s quiet, so it’s no trouble. Was there lots of traffic? But you’re Lily’s mother, right?” It’d been hard to pick up on much from Lily’s mumblings about her family, her descriptions vague at best, although it was clear that she adored her mom. But character traits wasn’t enough to identify her, and he figured he ought to make sure. “She’s a great kid -- really sweet and creative. You probably had to give her a whole wall of your home, she drew twelve beautiful paintings today alone.”

A small chuckle crossed his lips, looking down at the little girl with affection. Even if her drawings were still reduced to stick figures and flowers, it was endearing how much effort she put into them, and Nathan was always reminded of his own disposition to paint. Anything and everything -- as long as his heart was in it. And Lily’s always was. Something he hoped her mother could see -- although he suspected she could given how happily the little girl always talked about her. “I’m Nathan -- by the way, usually I only help out in the mornings and paint with them, but I had some extra time today. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Kinsey was always interesting to people. Small, cute, wide-eyed and talkative. Some people like that, apparently. Those who could actually stand it for prolonged periods of time had not yet found her. Sure, at first it was endearing to have a girl who rambled a lot, but in the end, it was too much. No one knew how to calm her, or ease her into comfortable silence, they just stared in shock as she jumped from topic to topic. Maybe it was an issue she should look into, or maybe it was just this paired with her longing for romance. She was going to make attempts at not thinking this was fated, or romantic, or romantic-comedy-esque. Or, at least, she would make attempts at not saying it out loud. She let out a giggle, glad he could make humour out of her embarrassing moments “Only when I’m flustered. Which, happens to happen a lot, unfortunately. Sometimes I’m really good at English… -ing.” She eased her shoulders, pursing her lips as she listened, the smile on her lips coming naturally as he told his own little cat anecdote. “That’s my problem too, the affection! I love cuddling. George is big and just likes laying on me. Lucifer likes one of my sisters but… The rest of us may as well be holy water with the way he freaks out if we touch him.” She cringed. “Is that a good analogy? I don’t know. He’s not fond of us.” Kinsey listened and resisted the urge to make comments till the end. He was clearly intelligent, and… he liked kids? She shouldn’t be overthinking it, but there she went again. “Oh, that’s cool. All of that. I could never be a soccer coach. I played for a season as a kid and mostly ended up eating dirt. The grass stains on my clothes were impossible to get out. I was really small so therefore easy to knock over.” She rolled her eyes at the memory, although she didn’t hate sports now, she was well-aware her size made things a bit more difficult. Scrunching her nose up as she realised she would have to share the same information, she brought her hands together. “Well, at the moment I’m a waitress, and I work part time doing stuff for my parent’s business. They sell art and antiques and I do all of the computer stuff because they think technology is soulless or something.” She chuckled, frowning a little at their ideology. Some part of her hoped that the lack of career wouldn’t be the thing to throw him off. “But I’ve been looking for other stuff, nothing is really… Jumping out at me yet.” God, it felt like a pitiful explanation. When would their drinks be ready? 

It wasn’t like Roxanne had any room to talk. The girl was well known for defying authority herself more than once and for causing trouble with the fights she used to get into when she was younger. It used to be a constant thing that she was well known with the headmaster as well as in the infirmary. She was just curious on why the other girl was still out and about. Roxanne had snuck out herself to go see someone but she wasn’t going to bring that up on her way back to her dorm. She didn’t need to bring it up. Roxanne didn’t need to get in trouble again but the girl also couldn’t deny the curiosity that burned within her now that the other had mentioned it. “Exciting or particularly dangerous?” Roxanne questioned, pretending to be concerned with what could await them. If it was dangerous then why would it be kept within the castle, right? The girl looked away a moment in thought as she crossed her arms. She then felt a smug smirk tug at her lips as the other mentioned her talent in DADA. She knew how to talk to people, Roxanne would give her that much. The girl tapped her foot lightly on the ground a few times before she nodded, “Alright. I’ll go with you. You’re quite convincing might I add.”
