1. what medium do you use most (if applicable, what software)?
2. most popular piece?
3. your favorite piece(s)?
4. piece you wish got more love?
5. how would you describe your art style?
6. favorite thing to draw?

9. whats something you always come back to when drawing?
10. how do you deal with artblock?
11. do you listen to anything while drawing?
12. describe your process while drawing
13. talk about a wip you like!
14. whats your favorite thing about drawing?
15. least favorite thing about drawing?
16. how do you motivate yourself to draw?
17. what is something youre confident about in your art?
18. something you feel like you need to work on?

20. is your workspace, digital or not, organized (not neat, organized)?

32. have you done a lot of collabs?
33. have you taken a lot of classes for art?
34. whats something you still like from your old art?
35. if you had one piece of advice to give your younger artist self, what would it be?
(remember to give the person you reblog from an ask!!)
1. I mostly use Ibis Paint X on my phone using my fingies. I also used to draw a lot using pen on unlined note cards. I really liked using markers on those for coloring but haven't had the energy to do physical media in a while.
2. People REALLY seem to like Stripes On Stripes Zulius
3. ...Jinx and Powder </3
4. See the above ^^^
5. It varies, but mostly my style is chickenscratch line-art. I'm recently experimenting with colors to add depth, shadows, and highlights.
6. I think my favorites are people and faces. I really like people and faces. Dunno why. I also like hands, I'm not amazing at them but I'm getting better. I definitely struggle with expressions unless they're cartoony, but I love drawing faces all the same.
7. Horse-like bodies. I am not kidding. I spent middle school and half of high-school obsessed with drawing dragons and gryphons, and I learned to draw them by drawing horses. I had a whole book about how to draw horses and I went NUTS with it. I'm also pretty decent at drawing genitals but that's for unrelated reasons.
8. Trees and landscapes and buildings. I just don't visualize them well in my mind, so it doesn't translate well to the page unless I'm copying a picture. If I practiced enough, I'd be really good at them cuz the main thing I play Sims for is home design. I just am more interested in drawing people.
9. I always use my own scaffolding technique when drawing a body. I think about not just the skeletal structure but generally how the muscle and fat hang over the bones, and where the organs are going to be taking up space. I'm still learning for sure, but that's how I always start out. To be clear I don't draw it all and erase, I just draw the general shapes as a base and work from there.
10. I have ADHD. I draw when the brain goblins demand it. I do not have any control over this. If the brain goblins are not frothing at the mouth for me to draw something, then it's gonna turn out horribly shit and I will have a very bad time making it. If the brain goblins *are* frothing at the mouth excited about it, it's gonna turn out Hella great to my eyes and I'm gonna enjoy it the whole time. This is coincidentally why I never pursued art as a career cuz the brain goblins do not do what I tell them to do, rather they tell ME what to do and I just get to go along for the ride.
11. No, usually. If I sit down and can convince the brain goblins something is interesting enough to make, then I usually have time to put on an audiobook or my tunes. But usually the brain goblins demand an art sacrifice NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW DO IT NOW and I must oblige and cannot turn my thoughts or focus away from what I have begun.
12. Layer 1: scaffolding. Layer 2: generalized base line drawing in a bright color. Layer 3: finalized line drawing in black using the correct brush size and shape. Layer 4: move this layer below Layer 3 to become the NEW Layer 3. Use the magic wand and the lasso tools using the line work as a guide so I don't end up coloring where I don't want an overlay on other layers. Proceed to paint bucket and brush on whatever the fuck bullshit coloring I've decided on for the day. Layer 5: drag this down to become the new Layer 2. Make everything else invisible and paint bucket the background color. Add any other coloring bullshit to taste. Layer 6: signature. Voila, it's done!
13. Don't have any right now. If an artwork isn't done they don't give the Happy Juices and are not deemed an acceptable art sacrifice to the brain goblins. So I generally don't start things I won't finish, and if I do they become an inspiration/idea work abandoned until I need it later, and not classified as a WIP cuz I know I will probably not touch it again. Cuz of the brain goblins. My brain goblins are picky but I love them anyway.
14. I like making crunchy product that taste good to the brain goblins.
15. I don't like pencil residue on my hands. But I don't have to deal with that with digital! Yay!
16. I don't. I am the brain goblins' bitch. They have me on a leash. It's consensual. I draw when they decide to shoot me full of happy juices because they want me to make an art sacrifice.
17. I'm good at making my line art legible, which is less something people talk about with art and more a term I picked up from working in a tattoo shop. In tattooing, you want it to be clear what someone has tattooed on them when viewed from a distance.
18. I dunno. Probably learning to back up my work instead of hoping my phone doesn't get borked.
19. My shows. If it scratches an itch really good idea need to make art about it.
20. No.
21. Probably like those fun little hard candies that have a spicy coating. I forget what they're called. I think they have Tajin on them? Anyways I think my art would be crunchy.
22. Neon pink, bright blue, lavender, and kind of this rich reddish purple. Honestly the bisexual flag with the saturation upped.
23. Realism, cartoon, and. Idk. Caricature probably, if I tried?
25. My older brother always says something like "HOLY FUCK" when I send him my art, and then will follow it up with more detailed art-teacher type positive feedback. Because he's a nerd. ❤️
26. My phone and my fingers. I hate styluses. I will also work with pen on cardstock occasionally.
27. Generally no, unless the brain goblins deem it necessary. Which is rare.
28. Eh, I made a poster-ish thing with "Gender is What We Make Of It" and two nude bodies on either side with the sun and moon as their heads, and my nude self in the center. I wanna update that now cuz I've gained weight and I want to make that closer to who I am now. The brain goblins are discussing it and interested too, but not frothing at the mouth yet.
29. Yeah, when drawing something I haven't before. I generally slap a bunch of refs Photoshop-style together and erase the parts I don't want to make a horrifying amalgamation of body parts.
30. It's squishy and I like it. I dunno, it's mine and I made it. I'm very happy with my color choices and my line art.
31. Centaurworld 💪
32. I think I've done exactly one collab. I did the line art and didn't feel like doing the coloring, so I sent it to a friend who's AMAZING at that.
33. My father was an art teacher, so yeah. We bonded over our love for art lmao. Then we had a falling out over him pretending to be okay with my gender while actually not being okay with it and then going ahead and voting for Trump to get back at some Hispanics who beat him up in 2008......dude's. An interesting person.
34. I liked combining colors a lot, especially when I was drawing mermaids as a kid. I did a pretty good job with those. I also did art with my older brother of some really messed up VeggieTales stuff, and I think back on that and it's fucking hilarious. We were coping with some pretty messed up stuff at the time, it was a pretty healthy way to keep occupied. (I.e. a dog pooping on Bob the Tomato's lawn, him yelling at some kids for stealing his stuff, and Larry doing a back-alley drug deal while the peas were digging under an apartment building for...idk what they were doing honestly.)
35. Absolutely nothing, that kid was a fricking genius. 12/10 no notes. Those wall drawings and the honey fiasco were excellent artistic choices and frankly I wish I'd done more to make my parents' lives hard 😆
time for more slutty old men mwahahahaha

bad day to have wool (it's fucking hot outside and I'm regretting growing my hair out)
I could write an essay on Jinx but this is the scene that stuck with me pretty firmly
felt like playing with the colors, and the water droplet effect is nice.
this is another one of those cases where I forgot to turn my blue light filter off to color.
uh..
this image best viewed with a blue light filter WHOOPSSS

been feeling super burnt out but wanting to draw something, and you can't go wrong with centaur world
behold my little sweet baby child (who's 43)
sometimes you gotta be your own sleep-deprived, traumatized, mentally exhausted single parent
hang in there y'all. I'm going through it right now, I'm sure someone seeing this is too. I'm too tired to have hope, but my partner is holding hope for the both of us.
current procedures are to put your oxygen mask on first before helping others, and do your best to work through the new trauma as it comes. lean on the people who love you, reach out to your community. don't isolate, don't spiral, and don't fester. do what you can to take control of what little you can. if that's laundry and dishes, if that's personal hygiene, if that's community support, whatever. just don't make a home in the despair just yet. and whatever you do, don't overextend your energy or your resources. you need to save enough in the tank to not lose yourself, your housing, your transport, or your access to food and clean water.
I have no idea if we're gonna make it through this, but we're gonna fucking try.
be safe. and be smart.
FINALLY
I think Singularity and Unraveling would be appropriate names. I'm so sad Arcane is over but I'm so glad we got these beautiful, complicated, messy fucking wrecks of characters that I love so much. I've got more Arcane art in the ol' noggin, but I'm supposed to be asleep
Super proud of this one
(repost to spontaneously combust)
IT IS FINISHED
FUCKING FINALLY
I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY HOURS THIS TOOK
FUCK
BEHOLD MY LOVELY LITTLE FAMILY MINUS TWO PEOPLE CUZ I'M LAZY AND THEY'RE EXTENDED
HUZZAH
(repost to be pixelated twice and heavily blurred)
highly recommend just slapping your art all over the wall
you can do this for the low low price of free (+$7 for sticky tack)
(the crab apple tree ain't mine, my wife's sister did that one for me because she's awesome)

didn't finish my wig in time for Kumoricon, but I had a grand old time and got to model for a figure drawing workshop
everyone loved the finished Jinx jacket and I'm excited to just wear that art piece like a normal part of my wardrobe now
thank you to the people who drew me (esp. for drawing me so FUCKING HOT), I would credit everyone but I only got @rhoda-pomelo 's business card (thank you for that!)
if anyone else recognizes their art here i will gladly credit!
