Steek is like a beautiful disaster.

So for me, it’s a ship that has the potential to be cute and wholesome, and it also has the potential to be a hot mess. It comes down to how you characterize both of them in the context of a story.

They’re a hot mess of you keep their substance abuse. Stan has a drinking problem, probably parties too hard. Even if you don’t want meth coffee to be a thing, a sound argument can be made for Tweek having substance issues as well, esp when you consider the nightmare of a father he has. In that case, they’re a couple that is focused on what feels good, what’s going to give them that next high. They’re destructive together and are stunted while their peers are moving onto the next stages of their lives.

GOSH OK. So for me a lot of HC depend upon the AU but here are some general ones

- Cryle are a power couple and it mostly stems from Kyle being a competitive asshole but Craig is along for the ride. That being said Craig doesn’t let himself get pushed into things and has no problem telling Kyle to chill the fuck out before he takes things too far

- as verbose as Kyle is, he struggles to articulate his feelings outside the heat of the moment, which works out fine for the most part because both he and Craig are the type to show that they care for each other than just say it

- Craig is high-key obsessed with Kyle’s hair and finds excuses to comb his fingers through those curls all the time

- Craig doesn’t give a shit about basketball but if a Nuggets game is on, he’s on the couch while Kyle is glued to the TV. He doesn’t have to be there, he might even doze off, but he likes being around Kyle and at least Kyle is entertaining to watch

- he also thinks Kyle’s temper is hot af

- Kyle isn’t big on PDA and as a result, his most affectionate moments are when they’re alone. Unless alcohol is involved, and Kyle’s public demeanor changes entirely

- they’re both Mama’s boys, and that is somewhat of a challenge when they decide to let their respective families know they’re a thing. Sheila doesn’t do well with changing preconceived notions she had about Craig a billion years ago when they were kids, but Craig wins her over. Easy mode: Kyle mentioning to Sheila that Craig was wondering about xyz in Judaism. Cuter mode: Craig asking her to teach him to make knishes because he knows Kyle really likes them

- Craig and Ike get along because they’re both w e e b s

- Kyle and Laura bond and mostly get along even tho Thomas inevitably interjects with some weirdly misinformed comment about whatever they’re discussing

- dealing with their families is still exhaustive work so it’s always a relief to be back home and away from them

- they def butt heads and have disagreements about things and no matter how heated it gets, it usually results in one of them leaving the house for a while or retreating to the basement/office/other room. Sulking may or may not be involved, but unless it’s a Big Thing, it just doesn’t get discussed again when they’re back in the same room.

And for Cryletan

- it works because because Kyle and Craig are logic minded and ensure everything is clearly defined. Their communication in a triad has to be better otherwise it’s likely to implode. Kyle and Stan would both be concerned about their friendship getting ruined and all that if things go awry

- Stan is more on the emotional side but it’s easier for Craig and Kyle to give him the support he needs together than if they were dating him solo.

- Stan is a furnace and he’s in the middle when it’s cold.

- but really they’re all good at trying to give each other what each other needs. Craig and Kyle get their time alone etc

- Kyle sometimes doesn’t know how to handle being the focus of attention. Sometimes it’s overwhelming but after a bad day he needs the attention and affections from his boyfriends

- Craig is mostly like wow I get two bfs to xyz with, and idky I decided this post was going to be sfw but I did so here we are

- Kyle thinks it’s important for them to all have their own spaces, and surprising no one, Stan’s room is a pig sty and Kyle is reluctant to ever go in there

- He ends up doing a lot of the cooking, and he’s got his work cut out for him bc Stan and Craig eat a l o t. Household chores are divided and conquered as efficiently as possible but Stan still leaves his socks everywhere

- Ike knows about this arrangement because he has to housesit or sth and accidentally lets it slip with Sheila and the result of this is literally Kyle’s worst nightmare.
