🦝[ How to work with Totoro. ] 🦝

My next article would be about Totoro, the God of death from Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighborhood Totoro. He is loosely based on a tanuki or a rabbit based on his appearance. Some witches say he's easy for beginners. A big old jolly keeper of the forest , this friendly pop culture deity will teach you to find your inner child & playful innocence.

-Totoro revolves around death. He may teach you something about yourself and letting things go. He's a jolly spirit so please do show respect to this yokai if he comes to visit you! -In the film, he leads Satsuki to find Mei in the spirit world. One of these reasons is that He will guide lost souls to the afterlife.

i've read a little bit of a lot of different religions.

if had to say what i was most familiar with, it would probably be buddhism.

which is weird, because i wouldn't consider myself a buddhist. but a lot of it is good shit.

like about what is important in life.

capitalism and western culture heavily distort if not outright destroy everything that is essential.

whether it is nature or creativity or individuality or sex. even spirituality and health have been distorted via a capitalistic lens.

people fall into puritan thinking, believing themselves on the cusp of understanding good and evil. people have regressed, thinking they have progressed

many people talk of doing shadow work, of meditating, of healing - but they are not DOING it. they are talking about it. they are intellectualizing it. they are not feeling and being.

how do i know?

because our culture is one of appearances. not of essence or being.

it is a culture of ego.

what healing does is ask you to discard and grow beyond who/what you currently are.

it is the same demand art or love or spirituality asks of you.

to grow. to become more. to face all your darkness and to accept and heal as much of it as you can. and if there is darkness you cannot dispel?

you work with it. steadily that negative becomes a positive (or as close as it is going to get - if your life and self have grown to accommodate it)

there is no light without shadow and there is no shadow without light.

the benefits of meditation include ; emotional regulation, increased productivity, better attention span, and discipline just to name a few

the types of meditation include ; mindful meditation (being fully aware of any emotion that ur feeling in that moment without any judgement) practice paying close attention to the floor that ur sitting on, every sensation in ur body, and ur breathing. let ur thoughts flow in and out of ur mind

vision meditation is one that i do a LOT bcuz it coincides with manifestation beautifully, every time before i go to sleep i close my eyes and visualize my future and my dream life and self. literally state akin to sleep

chakra meditation can be useful if you've ever felt like u woke up and just didn't feel urself. this can be a sign that ur energy in ur body isn't aligned and that it fell out of balance. so first off i want u to research chakras on ur own time and figure out which chakra was disrupted.

Incorporating spirituality into everyday life can bring a sense of purpose, inner peace, and connectedness.
