i watched this video and ive only watched one of this guys videos (the poster not geller. i like gellers stuff) before and he throws in a narrative and shit and i dont care about it at all. but i thought this would be interesting since hes trying to come in as someone who doesnt know (modern) games but he keeps making these encompassing statements that piss me off.

i know when writing sometimes you generalize but hes saying shit like 'games only started hitting emotional complexity in the PS3/360 era' no? 'why have we all accepted that games should have photo realistic aesthetics' we all have? (well there is a point about indie vs AAA but thats its still a simplistic view) 'these four games all have a death in the first act- video games i know you want to be serious but chill out!' four video games are stereotypically melodramatic? what will we do?

#2 #also on the note of games replacing cinema- ive never really thought about all that since im from a perspective where it feels like #everyone is pelting games for being childish and never being able to live up to movies.#its kinda funny to realize we are all just scared of eachother #i think over time things will become more and more indie.#the lowest form of indie. not 5000+ dollars and dozens of people.#nothing will replace anything- but i do think indie games have a leg up on indie movies.#video games take an extremely amount of time and effort- but if you are willing to supply the two you can make something alone #movies are harder to make alone since then how do you handle actors?#you could do animation (but then how do you handle voice actors) or more artistic films with no set subject #or video essays.#but thats more limited #i feel like games from movie groups always feel like gimmicks. are there really cinema heads out there who are worried everyone thinks game #are the future ??

#2 #the UI is. alright. the yellow drop shadows look weird #y.osuke and c.hies hair look extremely flat. the shading looks weird on them.#i dont think this is a fair or good claim and i kinda cant prove myself but i swear theyre making n.aoto more feminine.#just his expressions i dunno.#he had eyelashes in the original but they feel more pronounced. but thats more of an artstyle thing so i cant really claim that
