feramores is a term which describes the general experience of exhibiting/identifying with more animalistic, wild or bestial behaviours and tendencies.

this is intended as a catch all/base term, but subterms could exist to describe a being who exhibits behaviours associated with certain animals and non-human creatures. [felimores could be used to describe somebody who shows behaviours associated with cats. canimores could be used to describe somebody who shows behaviours associated with dogs.]

What is a fictomere? It is you, the subject, the fictional aspect that encompasses you. It's a fictotype, it's a hearthome, it's a headmate, it's a 'link, all that and more. Whatever brought you here in the first place.

When I began the prompt project, I realized quickly that being inclusive was gonna be very wordy. Asking "where does your fictotype/headmate/synpath" come from is clumsy, and when it comes to folks with hearthomes and other connections it requires additional sentences to fit them in properly. I don't feel like writing all that out every time, and you probably don't feel like reading it. And so, fictomere became a thing.

From Ancient Greek μέρος (méros, “part”). A fictomere is the part of you that is fictional, no matter what your relationship to that subject is. Additionally you can use it as a placeholder for a fictional connection that you don't know exactly how to label. Not sure if it's a headmate or a hearttype, but you need to call it something without being redundant all the time? Call it a fictomere. It's fictional, and it's a part of you, and sometimes that's all you know!

Hello, alterhuman community! I'm Bau and I'm a therian & otherkin musician - I use music to express my innermost feelings, from species dysphoria/euphoria to echoes of dream shifts I've had.

On Monday, August 26th from 9-11 AM EST, 3 tracks from my upcoming album Starlight Telepath will be recorded by Soundsgate Orchestra in Prague, Czechia. This will be the first time a therian/otherkin musician will have recorded with an orchestra (as far as I know), and the whole recording session will be filmed and streamed live on Twitch. The stream will start 2 hours prior - it'll go something like this:

7-8:30 AM - Pre-session warmup 8:30-9 AM - Sound check 9-11 AM - Recording session

If/How discovering you're fictionkin affects how you interact with other fictional works

How you deal with doubt (from yourself or others)

What you do to cope with homesickness/canonsickness

What you consider shifts and what they're like, or what it's like not having shifts

Aspects of your source materials (weird pacing? gameplay mechanics?) and how they compare to your memories/noemata

I'll also add that getting into the habit of journaling regularly can help you figure out topics to write about! Of course, journaling is first and foremost for better understanding yourself, but if you make it a habit of journaling about anything that comes to mind, you could find some entries cover topics that may be interesting or helpful for others to see.

(On that note, it can be very interesting to address how things have changed over time--whether that's your identity (or your understanding thereof) or the community. That's the benefit of both journaling (for yourself) and sharing your writing publicly (for others).)
