So..let’s get real for a minute. I’m really insecure about posting this but I’m trying to love my body as is, not for what I wish it looked like. I’m insecure about my scars on my thighs. I’m insecure about my stretch marks, scars, birth marks, surgery scars on my stomach. My stomach. That’s my biggest insecurity. It’s gone through a lot. 2+ Years of low dose chemotherapy self injections for my autoimmune diseases. Hysterectomy, tubal ligation, D&C, tumor removals.. I’ve had multiple surgeries. Colitis causing bloating, swelling & pain in my stomach that I can’t control. Endometriosis & PCOS that causes swelling & bloating out of my control. Being chronically ill is so fucking hard. !!TW:photos 5-10 show post op bruising, blood&scars. 7/23/21 It didn’t start out well. I got lost on the way there. They couldn’t find a vein on me. I told them I have a port&they could use it, but they had their mind set on other things. They eventually put me under with Nitrous oxide&then found a vein while I’m out. They had two IV’s in me, one on each arm. I got poked over 7 times. Both my arms are covered in bruises&so sore. Actually, my entire body is covered in bruises. I don’t know everything yet because I didn’t talk to my surgeon yet. I have a follow up appt coming up where I plan to ask her more questions. This is just what I got from the notes in my chart. So they ended up doing a vginal hysterectomy (as much as they could)&then Laparoscopic for the rest of it. They removed my uterus,cervix&the rest of my tubes. While inside, they discovered that I had multiple ovarian cysts&they also saw that I was filled with scar tissue. I also have something called Endometriosis. I got diagnosed with that after having so many drs not believe me or see me. It felt like a total shock. They took as much as they could out but there’s no cure for it&there’s a chance that it will come back&I’ll need more surgeries in the future. Removing my uterus isn’t a cure, that’s a myth. With endometriosis, the tissue can be found on the ovaries, fallopian tubes or intestines. I had it on all of those. I still have my ovaries&intestines,but they removed what they could. I stayed the night,the nurses were absolutely amazing. I’m forever thankful for them&anyone who has taken care of me. They did everything they could to make sure my pain was under control&they truly listened to me. I had a catheter in&that was the worst part. I wanted it OUT. So I had to prove that I could walk&pee on my own. I may of cried the entire time from pain but I did both.
