SPORE! was a collaborative interactive art installation/event by Frocktopus and myself that took place at Festival 8 2017 in Cabourne Parva, Lincolnshire. Here is the press release for the event:
“SPORE! HUH! GOOD GOD, WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? The reproduction of fungi. Kids and grown-ups alike come together and get involved with the big MUSHROOM HUNT. On Friday night, a giant glowing mushroom will appear in the main festival area. Scattered underneath the Humongous Fungus there will be lots of glowing spores (that sort of look similar to pinwheels). Grown-ups will be invited to take the spores away and plant them anywhere within the main festival grounds. Let the growing begin! The following morning, children will hunt down the planted spores and report back. Over the night some spores might grow into mushrooms, with little spores of their own! On Sunday morning the harvest begins! Kids will explore in search of the newly grown shrooms, and will maybe get to keep any spores they find along the way.”
