This had to be done

After seeing the new Mortal Kombat 2, I rewatched “Mortal Kombat Rebirth”, a short film from 2010.

This short film is so Late-2000’s, from the butchering of character backstories, to the tan gradient that seemed to plague every edgy film back then.

That’s not to say this idea was bad by ANY means, it got me curious when I was a kid and I still revisit it. But it makes me wonder what other things were gonna be changed?

If Baraka and Reptile were just humans who were fucked up psychos (and a skin condition in “Reptile’s” case), Shang Tsung is just some illegal underground fight club owner, making Jaxs and Sonya cops, and seemingly making Sub-Zero a cybernetic character, it makes me wonder what other concepts they tossed around?
