Link is getting a little aggravated at this guy’s comments. He doesn’t know what an elf is, but it doesn’t sound like something he’d want to be. And it’s definitely something he isn’t, and this guy’s insinuations aren’t appreciated whatsoever. He considers reaching back and grabbing his sword to seriously threaten his bully, but he decides against it; a hero would never do that.

So instead he grabs his slingshot and holds it, just in case.

When asked where he comes from, Link didn’t answer. Partially because he doesn’t speak and partially because he has nothing to prove. All he knows is that he’s not an elf—that he’s Hylian—and that he has no idea who this Santa is.

       It is a facial expression reading of twisted amusement that gleefully dances across his countenance. Chocolate optics are quick to house discernible gleams of exuberance - a type that can only be feigned as the seemingly immortal shadows that slumber 'neath raven lashes wordlessly indicate the presence of pure exhaustion deep within. This reaction - or lack thereof - is truly astounding as most individuals would undoubtedly attempt to violently deliver him to the chaotic realms of unconsciousness whilst impulsively allowing acrimonious words to gracelessly soar past parted lips. Sure, irritation has obviously compelled the mute male to pick up a visible weapon, but it is hardly perceived as a threat. Still, the joke has aged rapidly, which is precisely the reason why a meaningless apology - as empty as his stomach - is made to serve as a transition that he imagines will lead them away from the matter of 'elves'.

Inside of an OBNOXIOUSLY red bag, rests a collection of volumes that supposedly contain chapters comprising a fictional tale that presumably pertains to displays  of swordsmanship and the like.

Link watched and waited as the man appeared to study him. The other’s eyes scan down his tunic to his boots, and back up to his hat, trailing the length to where it meets at his mid-back. The hero shuffles self-consciously as he feels the unsettling gaze fixed on him.

The comment didn’t completely make sense to him. He wasn’t feeling particularly festive—and he’s wearing what he always wears… The only thing to which he could imagine the man could be referring is the large man in the red suit Link keeps seeing on bottles of soda and on posters. But that man’s suit is red!

He shakes his head slightly, then shrugs his shoulders.

     Noticeable intimations of befuddlement are instantaneously perceived as moderately amusing, but it becomes ridiculously apparent that the absolutely unfamiliar individual is not entirely aware of the traditional emblems that superbly embody the infectious festiveness that annually captures the warmest of hearts and mirthfully flirts with the coldest. Given the undeniable prominence of this particular holiday, it is tremendously unusual for one to be so uninformed of it, and it is this indubitable actuality that automatically reinforces his burning interest in the oddly dressed male.

             ❝  Really?

                        With those pointed ears and green clothes,                         you look exactly like one of Santa’s helpers.                         You know, those ELVES.

Cacao irises descry peculiar features,  which prompt unrestrained humor to enable the construction of an apposite query to transpire. A vocal tone indicating the undeniable presence of mirth within the astute male smoothly accompanies  comprehensible words. 

❝ —-is this  your way of exhibiting duplicitous tactics? I’d not be the least bit surprised. ❞ perhaps the male was a criminal, some type of delinquent desiring to terrorize others for no particular reason : ah, another form of a brute – alas, the male was a more calculated barbarian than most that swings their fists around ( && ) spew crass-like obscenities ( ASUKA KAZAMA ). arms cross over bust, golden locks shift slightly – as if to visually scrutinize the sketchy male, ❝ if more than one person is making such a claim, surely it is a unanimous thought ; never mind that, though, I am not whoever else you’ve conducted this type of – how you say – experiment – with, you will soon find that your hypothesis will fall in vain. ❞

 ❝  you must not be familiar with any magicians.       i wouldn't go as far as calling myself one, but       i agree with some of their IDEALS. for example,       they never reveal their secrets. not on purpose,       at least. from a certain perspective, it's a smart       decision because it allows them to keep making       money. what's more important than that is that       this practice keeps the element of mystery intact.       as you've probably guessed by now, i WANT to        be seen as what i am. an enigma. one that just       can't be unraveled. so, you can understand why        i'm not going to answer that question of yours.        ❞

   like minuscule droplets of pellucid liquid noiselessly    acquainting themselves with perdurable fabric, these    seemingly inconsequential contentions that are    continuously fired at him are unhesitantly dismissed.    although inexplicably delightful, this truly unswerving    confidence that is so freely being demonstrated is    deemed to be utterly incapable of persuading him to    believe that the articulate personage cannot become    his next conquest. even if he may be perceived as the    quintessential hypocrite, he cannot help but conveniently    disregard his own teachings purely for the sake of    challenging the validity of a particular conjecture that    has suddenly arisen within his enriched mind.

❝I can very well see that – it makes me wonder if you prolong like this with everything ; ‘tis not a surprise that you’d like to toy with others in such a way. mind not, I have crossed paths with machiavellian foes in my time – wanting to wither one’s patience ; it may just take a bit longer with me. ❞ what was it that the other wanted in turn? compensation? it meant NOTHING to distribute to the male in a modest portion, but such would solve nothing.

❝  While I have no doubt that you really are       as curious as you say you are, I’m not one      to reveal TOO MUCH about myself. So, I      suppose you’ll have to settle for making your      own assumptions. Or at least, trying to.      Knowing that there’s a chance that you’re      completely off the mark might make it rather      difficult. Though, I will say that you aren’t the      first to make that claim, and you can bet that      you won’t be the last. Many people say that      they’re more patient than the next, but they      always turn out to be wrong in the end. ❞

❝ well, considering that I only asked a simple question – I didn’t think you’d beat-around-the-bush as opposed to admitting that you’ve no answer. alas, ‘tis indeed my fault for thinking that you’d tell me so easily, how unfortunate. ❞
