Little bit of fish lore for those interested: both solamer and lunamer are apex predators and are known to prey on humans when opportunity strikes. It's illegal to swim in waters known to contain mers, and recreational waters for human use are kept free of wild mers through various means... though accidents do happen.

Sun is a very unusual case, overly friendly and playful for a wild adult mer, and very curious towards humans for better or for worse.

Moon... not so much. Quite the opposite, but he is Sun's mate so avoiding him is not an option if you want to continue interacting with Sun.

Patience is key but you may lose a limb or two.

I completely redesigned my mer boys from two years ago.

For my AU Celestis Luminaeri AU, which is also the scientific name of their species, more commonly known as celestial mers, with the two subspecies depicted here.

I have a LOT of lore on these guys and my goal was to finish a whole species guide for MerMay buuuuuuuuut... Tomodachi and Pokopia happened among other things, so sorry to say it's not finished XD

It'll be done eventually so for now, these refs will do. I'm very happy with how they turned out! Feel free to ask questions about them though!

When I came back to Tumblr a little while later, the announcement post's notes had dropped significantly:

This means that the new feature is active at this very moment and that this is how it works. And it sucks.

This new reblog system GUTS original posts. Interactions and engagements can no longer be properly tracked. If an original post breaches containment, it REALLY breaches containment. Unless you feverishly check every reblog of a reblog of a reblog of a reblog manually, you won't know how your post is received.

This especially hurts creatives, who rely on engagement and numbers for the art, photos, videos, whatever else they post. They NEED to be a part of this, Tumblr, you can't bar the original poster from their own post's growth. It's disrespectful. It makes no sense.

Due to limited availability from work and such, I won't be doing full illustration commissions.

Opening commissions to try get myself a proper PC since my laptop is starting to really hate it when I stream myself drawing on Discord, or just crashes whenever I try to play low graphic games on Steam-
