they're using this botnet to send messages like this to trans users including minors.

the bots they run are most likely sideblogs to their main blogs. once their main blog gets banned, their bots will be too.

and so this august is wasted.

happy one year and one month anniversary to august ends, my first game ever! got busy with schoolwork so i missed the actual date but i really wanted to draw something to commemorate it.

august ends has a special place in my heart, to an extent that i probably won't talk about any time soon. i'd like to revisit it some time in the future.

I actually don't have many wips at the moment (crazy for me), and the ones I do have are zine/big bang pieces so I can't share!

but a couple years ago I started doing game dev stuff in my free time, and this year I kinda restarted that and have been having a lot of fun!!! as it's kind of a perpetual wip at the moment I'll put some of that here!

tile maps! I've been having so much fun just, thinking of things to add to the world. in my big 'bible' document I've got a list that I add to whenever I think of anything else that might be neat and/or substantive to add (mushrooms! water foliage! animal tracks! fire hydrants? street signs? fences? etc). also I have VERY limited experience doing pixel art and it's been really really fun to experiment with it!

so far the mossy rocks are my favorites :)

this guy's name is Vincent and he's an NPC. the first one, so far! he's a reimagining of an OC I've had kicking around for a really long time but have never really done anything with. honestly this project has been a good excuse to dust off a bunch of old OCs and revisit them, it's been fun!

the chickens and cats are actually from a couple years ago, when I started doing this, as is the general sprite shape (which all humans will take, with size variations). originally I had wanted to do a farming/life sim style game like Stardew so I was playing with farm animals but now I've changed direction to something story-focused... but I still really like the round little chickens soooooo I'm sure I'll find somewhere to put them

among other things, SOOOOOOO much of this project is inspired by Lord Huron's music (they are my favorite band!!! if you are not familiar with their music, my username is a reference to their Vide Noir album 🙈) so I thought it'd be fun to have something be a blatant/direct shout out. the Emerald Star is the diner in town (with a Cosmic Selector-inspired jukebox :) ) and is so far the only building I've created! but I think it's cute, idc

will it get me in trouble? idk. if it does I can always just change it to like. the ruby star or something lol. who knows
