Disclaimer. I'm NOT trying to justify her actions, just a theory as to what events in Kikyo's life led to who she is, what she does, and why.

In my previous post, I wrote that over time, Kikyo most likely developed Stockholm syndrome towards Silva. From this one might think that their marriage is not for love (plus the fact that in such families most marriages are concluded only for the sake of benefit and status).

However, in my opinion, this is not entirely true. Both true and false. I'll try to explain.

As I said, marriages in such obscenely wealthy families from high society are concluded solely in order to confirm their already high status, as well as to gain new connections. Well, for reproduction too. But as we know, Kikyo is from Meteor City. And it's a dump town where people have no status or last names, and most of the children raise themselves(redan, for example). So I doubt that out of a huge choice, Zeno and his wife would have chosen Kikyo to marry their son.

I think Silva and Kikyo had some kind of passionate and short romance, and Silva, driven by these emotions, married her, even against his father's will(Zeno doesn't like Kikyo, let's remember that.). I'll repeat what I wrote in my previous post, she was 18 at the time, which is the age when a person was literally just allowed to buy alcohol and make their own choices at the state level. Kikyo was not then a fully formed person with the experience of adult life(And she gave birth to Illumi at 18, so at the time she met Silva, she was most likely at least 17.). After Illumi was born and began training him, Kikyo was against it, but said nothing and assured herself that everything was fine and that her lover knew best. She thought so because "He chose me, I will not be needed by anyone except him."(Again, she's from Meteor City). Over time, she even began to romanticize all the horror that was happening in this family. She is very attached to her husband and children, especially her own children. Because their appearance is the only thing she has influenced this family and the only thing she tries to control.

Maybe I'll write her lore. But I'm not sure anyone will be interested in it.

There will also be no Maha and Zigg here, because almost nothing is known about them.

Zeno—pride. Honestly, I don't have very strong arguments for this. However, I think that a person who grew up in a patriarchal system and is at the top of this system will, in most cases, have an inflated opinion of himself (I think that all Zoldycks are a little like that). However, in Zeno this has softened with age (I have a separate theory about why he, one might say, is adequate compared to other family members. Maybe I will write about it someday)

Silva—pride. First, what I already wrote above. Secondly, that scene after the conversation with Killua, when he confidently said that he still has an influence on him and one way or another he will return, because Killua is HIS son.

Kikyo—I don't know. Despite the theory I wrote earlier, there is still too little information about her and her personality. But, perhaps, also pride. She partly adopted this position from her husband. Plus her tantrums as a way to create the illusion of influence and control that she does not have.

Illumi—Pride. Again, everything that I wrote about Zeno. And also the desire to control Killua.

Milluki—gluttony. Not only physically, but also morally. He is literally addicted to anime (well, most likely to hentai) and absorbs all this information. And also, less likely, in my opinion, sloth because he despaired of becoming the pride of the family and a good killer. I don't think it's a sin close to him, but it's present in him.

Killua and Alluka—nothing. We were shown Alluka in a very one-sided way. And Killua doesn't fit at all. Well, I could say, except wrath, but he's only angry at his family, and this anger and resentment isn't that strong. And Killua clearly doesn't dwell on the resentment towards his family. So no.

Kalluto—envy. Of course, it's not that huge in him, and the fact that he feels that way is completely justified.

I would like to talk about Kikyo Zoldyck.(Art not mine)

First of all, let me say that I am in no way trying to justify Kikyo. I just want to try to look at it from a different perspective. And also the fact that since she, like the entire Zoldyck family(family itself and members as different personalities(Except Killua and Illumi)), is not revealed. So almost everything I write here is just my thoughts and assumptions based on what we know.

Kikyo is broken by the system she is in (Before she came into the family, she wasn't even a fully formed personality. Let me remind you, she gave birth to Illumi at 18). As we know, the Zoldyck family is absolutely patriarchal. But she, as a woman in a patriarchal family, has no influence. Especially if we look at Silva's behavior, we can conclude that he is a kind of dictator in his family. Also, as far as all we know about her past is that she's from Meteor City. We can conclude that it wasn't easy for her there. And when she married Silva, I'm sure it got even worse for her, because we all remember well what terrible things are considered the norm for the Zoldycks. Her tantrums are an attempt to create the illusion of influence that she never had. She gave birth to 5 children while being incredibly thin(47kg with height 170 cm), and pregnancy is a VERY complicated process. After Killua leaves Silva's room, we see that despite outwardly accepting his son's choice, he still believes he has power over him and is confident that he will return and become the next patriarch. I think the Zoldyck family broke her in a way.

A few more thoughts on her relationship with Silva. I think that over time she developed Stockholm syndrome towards him. I think so because there is no indication on her part that she secretly hates him or despises his methods. Now I will try to explain. As I mentioned, she gave birth at 18. 18 is the age of majority, yes, she was no longer a child. However, with the advent of adulthood, you only age by a year, and along with the status of "adult", you do not gain experience. So Kikyo didn't even have time to live a free life as an adult and, barely losing her "minor" status, got married and gave birth to a child. Early marriage is a problem in general and in any case traumatic. Especially in a family like Zoldyck's, which, in addition to being radically patriarchal, also raises murderers and trains children, beating them with all.
